I flounced after the 2014 draft, when we were the first to be punished by the Oilers rule. That was enough pain. It was effecting me personally. And I never seen Loui Eriksson play a game. The only thing I ever seen of him in a Canucks jersey was a Youtube clip of him scoring on his own net.
So there is perks to flouncing. I am leaving the option open. But after awhile, you notice that something is missing. And you have nothing to do on random evenings in the winter. Hockey fills a void.
Maybe, just maybe , Chicago was an ideal place for Bedard to go, in order that he leaves after 7 years ? If he went to a true have-not franchise like CBJ, he couldn't twist that knife and leave. And there is no organization that deserves to have him leave , or an organization that he shouldn't feel bad about leaving than Chicago.
Imagine you are from Vancouver, you are a diehard Canucks fan, you raise a son to be a #1 over all NHL selection, then he goes to the Chicago Blackhawks.
