  1. Does he? I really haven't heard much of that. Everyone talks like he's a sure thing.
  2. I'm seeing a lot of whining about these later picks in other forums. Sounds like we are taking swings at defensman. I can't argue with that. I'd support the idea of using literally every late 2nd or later pick on D men. Draft all defensman this year. Then all centerman next year
  3. Edmonton should have never been hanging onto that 22nd pick in 2017. They should have traded it. Or at least traded the player in his ECL window. Insanity. Kostin was also a 2017 1st rounder that they acquired for a 3rd. Just wasted assets that they could have used to get vets to play around Mcd
  4. Cam Robinson said he's a couple years out. Not 3.
  5. Craig Button “He’s a top-three defenceman, a right-shot defenceman,” said Button of Willander. “I think he’s robust. He’s got some [Charlie] McAvoy, Rasmus Andersson in him.”
  6. If he happens to be elite, he could be here in 2 years
  7. I liked Willander's slow power walk up to the stage with no smile. Hansom guy too.
  8. Except Danielson and that small D man aren't very good picks
  9. For every Brayden Point there is a dozen Schroeders.
  10. On the HF poll on June 15th, Benson won the vote with 31%. Willander got 9%. I don't get why so many ppl were high on a winger with Garlund upside and Shinkeruk/Shroeder downside.
  11. You know Drance would have this ready if they took Benson: "A smallish winger that doesn't address a positional need, that is made redundant by Hoglander and Lekkerimaki"
  12. Who would be a Benson equivalent today in the league ?
  13. Prancer with his usual negative hot takes. Says Willander had pedestrian numbers
  14. Good Joulevi retrospective here from HF Why was Juolevi drafted so high? He was 6'2, moved well and had a very good first pass out of his zone. He came to the CHL and lucked out by playing behind one of the most dominant lines in Junior Matthew Tkachuk - Christian Dvorak - Mitch Marner. His ability to pass the puck obvious worked well with such a dominant forward line that dominated the opposition. It masked a lot of his defensive weakness. The fact he's soft and has trouble winning puck battles along the board and front of the net. Goes to the WJC where he again played behind Puljujärvi - Aho - Laine. Again that line dominated. and he picked up 9 assists in 7 games. Any draft eligible defenseman producing well at the U20 naturally will get a ton of hype. That's when his stock started to skyrocket. Still he didn't even finish ppg in the CHL, and in his draft +1 when the marner/tkachuk left, his production stalled. He goes to the WJC again, no Aho, no Laine, and he finished with 2 points in 6 games. Basically by draft +1. The writing was on the wall, his ability was overrated by who he got to play with. But most importantly he can't defend. And when injuries hit, game over.
  15. That is quite provocative and a clear signal is it not ? You know you are getting drafted by a bright red team and you wear Canuck blue ?
  16. Juolevi was a consensus top 10 pick and was projected to be very similar to Willander in terms of type of defenseman.
  17. Is it all Joulevi hot takes ? HF boards is a slow pos right now
  18. Danielson to Det was the dog pick of the draft so far
  19. To be fair, I am not getting super negative vibes from the nay sayers. Just mildly negative Benson dreamers
  20. Looks like you cherry picked . Button had Willander at 8
