  1. Definitely agree with this. We need some sandpaper, or dare I say........truculence! Out of Boeser, Garland, and Beauvillier - 2 need to go. The strongest case probably favours keeping Beauvilier imo. The two that leave should be replaced with some grit. Though I don't think Bjugstad is the answer - he is awfully slow which is not a good attribute to have when in a primarily defensive role. It would kind of be like have Tyler Myers play center. IMO Myers will, and should, play out his final year here. We may even get a contract year bump from him which would be great for the Canucks hoping to make playoffs next year. Hopefully Hronek is healthy because I think he will be a great addition to our D, but as you say, we need some bruising defensive D to compliment him and Hughes.
  2. That would just make tanking worse. Could you imagine if only 5 teams had a shot at Bedard this year? Giving less teams a higher chance at Bedard just incentivizes tanking. There is a lot of parity in the low-mid standing teams so the odds should be more spread out. I like the current rule of no team advancing more than 10 spots.
  3. To avoid this exact situation I think teams would have to be paired cross conference.
  4. It would certainly increase excitement amoung non-playoff fanbases. It's a fun idea. For it to work, there would have to be an inverse ranking system of sorts (eg. team 32 & team 1, team 31 @ team 2 etc). And how do you seed the teams - is it league wide or conference? As interesting of an idea as it is, I don't see it working in reality without some sort of fail safe to prevent the worst team in the league from picking 15th in the case of a first round playoff upset.
  5. Has anyone started using GPT to help with work or productivity? I had it write an email for me a while back, it is pretty amazing. The email was a little long winded but it was well done.
  6. It's going to be such a Canuck thing to do when we finish the year on a 4-1 run and watch Washington or St. Louis win the lottery.
  7. Erik Karlsson has that on lock. But on a side note, how the Sharks have a 100pt defenseman and still manage to suck is beyond me.
  8. The last 2 years have obviously been tough for Brock because of the personal challenges that he has had to endure. But with that said, talk is cheap. Especially from a player that has not improved since his rookie season; a strong argument can be made that he has actually regressed. Boeser needs to come back a better player next season, this is an important summer for him.
  9. This would be a good time for a regulation loss in a hard fought game with no injuries. Maybe a heart breaker like the Kraken scoring with 20seconds left in a 1-1 tie.
  10. I agree to a degree but I also think that having a ryan reeves or a prime lucic can be a deterrent. If a young Lucic played with the Sedins in their prime I don't think they take the same amount of abuse as they did.
  11. Defensive as in 'conservative' or defensive as in the Boeings, Raytheons, and Lockheed Martins of the world?
  12. @RussI was more concerned about snow and not rain. I live in the interior so we get snow all winter.
  13. @Russ I remember another issue actually... no rear wiper blade which was a bit of a turn off for me as we'd be driving it in winter conditions.
  14. @Russ We almost bought an Ioniq5 AWD but the misses didn't like the contemporary interior. I think it had 400km of range.
  15. Isn't the point of those vans to be camp/adventure friendly? 400km of range (presumably on flat, unlikely to get that on BC highways) is not really enough for that. I'm surprised a manufacturer hasn't come out with an electric trades van (eg. sprinter). Those are almost always driven in city and the trades people take them home at night. It's the perfect application for an EV. Gas is more efficient on highways and for long distance trips. Hybrids that can run on all EV seem to be the best of both worlds at the moment.
  16. ^^^Just missing "Account Manager - Lehman Brothers"
  17. Yeah it is going to get interesting here over the next few months. I don't think we are going to get a sort of Black Monday like event tomorrow or anything. Will there be contagion? Hard to say, I guess it depends on how many other banks positioned themselves in the same way as SVB. Interestingly, Bitcoin is ripping today despite all the uncertainty surrounding the trading week ahead.
  18. This also has to stop. No use over playing these guys in mean nothing games.
  19. I don't mind the hire but just think it was mistimed. Tocchet has not done enough in his coaching career to justify the BB debacle. We could have waited until the end of the season which would have saved the management some terrible PR.
