  1. I’m quite certain the reffing was a deliberate statement by them against our white towel tribute at the start of the game. Solidarity and all...
  2. Just got excited that Louie made a big hit. Then saw it was 71. Not 21. Lol
  3. We chased Murray. Just gotta laugh. Hilarious when you think about it really. That’s the positive I am taking away from this one.
  4. Just tuned in - May have been mentioned but I’m liking the TV coverage. Seems closer and you get a lot more of the on ice audio. Feels more real.
  5. I actually haven’t watched the footage so this isn’t a comment on any of the specific incidents. All I can say is, given the choice between spit on my face or a blind side sucker punch upside the face, I choose the spit. One I can have a shower and be done. The other, several dental trips to repair broken teeth, days of pain or dealing with a broken nose, etc. just think spitting doesn’t warrant a greater punishment than sucker punches. Same thing for cross checks to the face. Maybe I’m biassed though from having 7 teeth crowned from hockey.
  6. Ditto. Personally I like the 649 connection but don’t like lotto line as it implies some type of draft lottery success. Which contradicts reality. I prefer Jackpot line in this sense.
  7. Totally agree. The guy is a professional athlete. His mindset is not/ should not be “I give up”. It’s “I got this”
  8. Not liking these delayed shotguns Jakes been giving us. So I did 2.
  9. Was about to post exact same. Just said that to the lady. Brutal.
  10. Sadly, that’s not exclusive to days off. I’m working but still find time going excruciatingly slow in anticipation.
  11. Those anthems made my night. Lol. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Awesome.
  12. A win tonight and an Oiler loss = 1st place. And we never look back. Yes, I am an optimist. But I’ll settle for the playoffs regardless.
  13. Origin of a Canucks rumour: 1. Canucks doing fairly well, not a lot of negative stuff to generate clicks, entertain listeners 2. local sports radio hosts observe Stecher’s TOI is less than last year 3. same hosts talk incessantly about this, speculate ad nauseum that this must mean that Stecher isn’t happy about this and wants out OR Canucks are unhappy with his play and are looking to move him 4. Repeat 3 for a day or two, creating “rumblings” 5. An actual legit person like McKenzie mentions he has heard “rumblings” 6. Knowledgeable fans ignore all this and just enjoy the Canucks for who they are and the good/ exciting/ entertaining hockey they are playing.
  14. Bure. And for me it’s not even close. I played too much in the 70s and as a result I didn’t have much interest in just watching so can’t speak to that era. And even the 80s we actually didn’t many games on TV. But Bure - good god. What a treat. Sure there were great leaders, fighters, leaders, characters - and I loved many of them. But to people that never saw Bure, there is no way to explain it. Every. Single. Shift - you were almost giddy in anticipation of what the hell he just might pull off - and so often he did. Was truly mesmerizing and to this day I have seen no other come close in the entire league. When he was injured I often just found the games boring, even when we were winning. Yes, we were spoiled.
  15. I agree. Jackpot line much better. And I admit I have being doing lame one word posts in the GDT (Jackpot!) when they score their first goal of the game. They are 3-0 now when I do that so now I have to keep it up until it doesn’t work. Lol.
  16. And if anyone wants to know the REAL reason from the rules, it’s because it didn’t prevent a reasonable attempt at a shot or pass. Look it up. It has ZERO to do with being intentional. Just like accidental trips or high sticks, that just doesn’t matter.
  17. Looking forward to seeing the debut of the “Jackpot line” (6-40-9). Hope it works. Props to @AlwaysACanuckFan for coining this one. Let’s hope it’s a winner.
  18. That’s the problem with TVs. Every time I get one I want a bigger one within a year. Mine is only 65 and I’m thinking I need at least 80. Lol. Wife tells me just to move closer...
