This deal was always getting done. Edler is going nowhere. All of this is simply posturing and negotiation. His agent is simply playing the only card he has. I’m surprised how many are worried here. Edler’s passion for complacency will win. Which is why I hope Jim just sticks with it and goes for 1-2 years at a time.

I don’t know - NHL app and CarPlay to listen to games on my long commute home has definitely made the drive more enjoyable for me. No distraction. But maybe a good thing it doesn’t allow me to stream video - gotta admit I’d be tempted.

Admit I was disappointed at first but I think about it this way to take some solace. 2017 we got the definitive #1. 2018 I’d say we got top 3 at least. Yes, it’s early to tell that one, but it’s what I go with. 2019 - I leave to the pros and expect we are getting a great piece moving forward. I am an optimist. And we will win within 3 years.

Going to watch the Hughes Bros on the 22 in Langley. Can’t wait. I feel very unpatriotic this year being more excited to see USA than Canada. Crap. I typically love to hate the US and love the rivalry. But to see them up close for cheap - couldn’t pass it up.

You’re right right, times have changed. People were excited and eagerly anticipating, but there wasn’t the social media (or internet for that matter) so if people were to be pissy, it would have been much less so and face to face among friends. But still think much less whiny overall. I was out of the country at the time so was only pleasantly surprised to get back in the fall to watch his magic.

From a business standpoint, I simply cannot see this happening. Canucks need fans and EP is going to be one of the biggest draws this year. There hasn’t been this much excitement/ anticipation since Bure.

Pears, don't get me wrong, I know he is a great player, but as far as this town is concerned, I think he has peaked. I believe a fresh start on another team will be great for him and he will no doubt do well there, at the same time giving us something for the future. Time for us all to move on.

Same can be said for Kesler - third worst plus/ minus on the team, mediocre points/ time on ice stat (behind 4 others), has already peaked, poor leadership and a crappy attitude. Yet he has the highest trade value he'll ever get. Dump him now while the gettin' is good.
