Jay Beage - "That guy, he's tough!..... You're not!..... He's tougher then you." LOL thats some low iq chirping, but still love it. Pretty sure im reading lips right

I think Mac is so close to being a solid bottom 6 guy, he is fast, full of energy, good shot and surprisingly good hands. The one thing I notice Mac needs to do better is getting the puck out of the zone at the defensive blue line. He always seems to be looking for the guy coming to hit him, rather then just chipping it out. Just a half second quicker on the decision making and he could have a long career in the NHL. He is easily our toughest player, the only other guys who can scrap on the team are Horvat & Benn... Myers, Virt, Rous and Hamonic can hold their own but they are not intimidating at all. I bet him and Watson have a go tonight.

Make a pass.... trying to be way too fancy. chip it down the ice and get on the forecheck. Drop pass in neutral zone to wild forward isn’t much of a game plan -

Ya its 100% a hot take on Juolevi. Brain says Fanta, heart says Olli. I would think Ollie only gets in if fanta really struggles and Benn is still doing dad stuff. I think Pearson - Horvat - Toffoli could be a great playoff line. Pearson is underrated imo... the guy is so strong on the puck and boards, checks with his legs. That line would be great to match up against a smaller D pair like Spurgeon during home games. Could really wear down the other team and eat ice-time. I would give this line the most ice time. Shades of that 70's line? Petey with Boeser and Miller is just a straight up dangerous line. Could get more offensive starts and PP time. I think Boeser is trying to prove something and I would think playing with Petey is a motivating factor for him. Gaudette with Ferly + Roussell ... (Changed my mind on Virt) ... Just a go hard to the net, annoy people line that has scoring touch. Motte - Beagle - Virtanen.... Fast, heavy 4th line , Jake might get easy d-pairs he can just blow by and snipe. Could easily switch him with someone on 3rd line if hes feeling it. Motte is my other unsung guy to pearson....guy is a freak. That 4th line would have some serious tempo. That line-up would so hard to play against IMO which is how Travis Green wants to play. We just gotta make sure we can get the puck out our own zone to get on the forecheck. Go Nucks -

My playoff starting line up. Scratching Fantenberg + Mac was difficult. Joulevi impressed me against jets. Miller -Pettersson- Boeser Pearson -Horvat- Toffoli Ferland -Gaudette-Virtanen Motte- Beagle- Roussell Eriksson - Sutter - Mac Hughes -Tanev Edler - Stecher Joulevi - Myers Fantenberg - Rafferty Marky - Demko -

[Signing] Golden Knights re-sign Ryan Reaves
RecklessReilly replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I just dont think its fair to say a guy like Revo has no place in the NHL. He is obviously in a very niche role, but lets not forget his impact in the Vegas Golden Knights run to the cup... he was scoring and taking the steam out of Tom Wilson. It easy to sit behind a computer and pull up stats to say hes a big dumb plug.... but all that says to me is you have never spent anytime in locker rooms or on the bench. There is such a thing as intangibles and those cant be put into a spreadsheet. Every player in the NHL knows when they are playing Revo... and every teammate of his loves him. The guy can skate, he doesnt turn pucks over, amazing forchecker and is a team leader on and off the ice.. Vegas is a well run organization and if they feel he was worth re-signing then that should tell you everything about him as a player. Its trendy to pick on enforcers, I know, but let the breed die in peace ffs. Cheers -
[Report] Canucks to part ways with Judd Bracket

I’m so sick of this being the hot topic on CDC. Let’s all move on. Bigger fish to fry. -
Yep, nothing dirty about it. If he would have slew footed him him or exploded through his head it would have been dirty. This just seemed a typically board play that unfortunately injured Motte. Honestly I was suprised karlsson out muscled him since mottes are pretty strong guy

[Proposal] Sending Boeser Home

I might go Boeser for Dumba straight up. Dumba is a really hard player to find, you have to give to get. -

Comparing the Blackhawks to the Canucks
RecklessReilly replied to RecklessReilly's topic in Canucks Talk
God forbid I have a thought about the Canucks (in a Canuck forum) and attempt to get some dialogue going. But for the sake of discussion.. I wouldn't call it a different era, the Blackhawks are one of the most succesful franchises in the modern game. Markstrom is 2 years younger, but your right crawford won his first cup when he was in his late twenties. However he also won a cup at 30.. same age as Marky... The comparison is that of two solid, but not elite goalies. Keith and Hughes are different sure, but they are both in the mould of puck moving elite skating LH d-men, dont see how you can argue that. To say they are completed different is like saying mandarins and oranges are completely different. Petey and Kane are both game breaking dynamic offensive threats. Both play a high skill game, both under sized and both with elite vision, hands and shot. Miller being Hossa is a strech sure, but based on this season alone it isnt. Both heavy on the puck, powerful players that have serious finesse, playing making and scoring touch. You didnt mention horvat and toews, but i think its hard to say they arnt comparable. The whole point of a forum is to discuss something you are interested in with other people who are also interested. You're free to call the whole post a stretch but I personally dont think it is. Its all fun, right? -

Comparing the Blackhawks to the Canucks
RecklessReilly replied to RecklessReilly's topic in Canucks Talk
Yep totally agree. You could honestly make the case for most teams in the leauge. I just found it eerily similar for CHI/VAN. Also most canucks fans are very familiar with those blackhawks teams so it hits home a little more. IMO JB has done his job turning the roster into one that has a high ceiling. Now its a matter of the players/coaching to reach that ceiling. Exciting times ahead. -
Does anyone else notice any parallels between the Chicago Blackhawks power house years and the Canucks? Of course it takes time to completely fill the potential, however I do believe this core could be a contender for the next 5-10 years. Kane = Pettersson Toews = Horvat Sharp = Boeser Hossa = Miller (maybe a stretch) Keith = Hughes Crawford = Markstrom You can keep going forever and keep trying to make comparable's, but these 6 are the ones that stand out to me. I feel the only position we are missing going forward is a 1st pairing RD (Seabrook). Depth wise we match up fairly with those Blackhawks teams that won cups (maybe slight edge chi). If we could somehow land Dumba from minny (Boeser?) and Podkolzin/Hoglander become top 6 wingers we are going to be a power house. I believe we have the foundation for a perennial contender. Skill, youth and two-way play in all the important positions. Half baked thoughts, could be way off.

[Discussion/Proposal] Max Domi
RecklessReilly replied to HKSR's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Good proposal. Value wise I think you're pretty close Few thoughts below. - Hogland might have crazy high value if hes producing on his ELC. The team needs people on ELC's pulling on the rope in the next few year. - Tanev has been solid this year and if we are trying to make playoffs hes a key piece, especially with our volatile defense. I was actually thinking of a similar deal, how does everyone feel about Josh Anderson? He also is a team mate/friend of Bo's. Plays a heavy game TG likes. He is on a cheaper contract. He is a great insurance policy on Ferland if he doesnt get his health on track. Anderson's value is really low at the moment: 4 points in 26 games. We could probably get him for significantly cheaper then Domi. Although domi is the better player. That being said Anderson was a force in playoffs.
