Thought he played with a lot of energy and had one or two solid scoring chances. (Didn't watch P1 btw)

  3. After working his way back last fall from shoulder surgery, Virtanen wants to use his strong world junior tournament with Team Canada to launch a huge second half in the Western Hockey League. Is it outrageous to think we might even see Virtanen in Vancouver this season after the Calgary Hitmen finish playing? (Linden) I don’t think it’s outrageous, but it’s probably unlikely. We’ll see how things go. From week to week and month to month, things change. We don’t know where we’ll be at the end of the year. Read more: http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Iain+MacIntyre+Canucks+sacrifice+future+make+team+better+today+says+Linden/10756023/story.html#ixzz3PyqSj7Z0 He said Unlikely... I would guess AHL is more likely if Calgary is knocked out early. But still.... Would be awesome to see Virtanen join the Canucks for even 1 game Mathias Virt Hansen or maybe even Vey in the mix. Lots of speed
  4. Now this was posted today. With their Cap hit dropping, If he is pushed down the depth chart and sent down to one of the lower leagues still active, Or even traded etc. Maybe he will decide to come over early instead of honoring the 2 years left. http://www.ctvnews.ca/sports/russia-s-khl-to-slash-league-salary-cap-amid-economic-crisis-1.2204768 MOSCOW -- The Kontinental Hockey League's president says he wants to slash its salary cap as clubs struggle financially in Russia's economic crisis. Dmitry Chernyshenko told Russian media Saturday he wants to cut the 1.1 billion ruble ($17 million) salary cap by 50 million rubles a year each season until 2017-18. At current exchange rates, that would result in a cap that is a fifth of the NHL's current $69 million level. The plans likely spell an end to the KHL's plans to rival the NHL's popularity and attract big-name players from North America. Almost all of the KHL's 28 clubs rely heavily on Russian state-owned companies and regional governments for their revenue. With Russian government finances under pressure from low oil prices, several clubs are reportedly struggling to pay players.
  5. Stumbled on this article made on Jan.14, a few days after he potted in his first goal of the year. Would have to agree the KHL stats must tweeked a little regarding weight etc. He does not seem as stacked as Byf. Byf is 2 inches shorter. Wasn't sure how to post this video of his goal directly on the site but It is on the Vancouver sun. Happens around the 1:18 mark http://vansunsportsblogs.com/2015/01/14/the-prospector-tryamkins-dropping-ice-time-mccanns-hot-december/ Tryamkin is averaging just under 15 minutes per game, so he’s clearly playing on the third pairing. His ice time has been especially low lately. Earlier in the season, Tryamkin was averaging around 16 minutes per game, while occasionally playing over 19 minutes. He hasn’t played more than 15 minutes a game since the end of November, however, and he’s played around 12 minutes or less since mid-December. The drop in ice time is partly due to the addition of veteran defenceman Alexander Loginov, who is averaging a little over 17 minutes per game for Avtomobilist since being signed at the end of November. For what it’s worth, his plus/minus of plus-1 is third among Avtomobilist defencemen, with most of the team in the minus category. Avtomobilist simply isn’t very good, though they’re managing to hang on to a playoff position despite a record that is well below .500. Tryamkin leads Avtomobilist in hits with 58 and is third on the team in blocked shots with 32. That’s not necessarily a good thing, of course, as in order to throw a hit or block a shot, the other team has to have the puck. Tryamkin is listed at 120 kg on the KHL website, which is 264.5 lbs. By way of comparison, Tom Sestito weighs 228 lbs, while Zdeno Chara weighs 255 lbs. The heaviest player in the NHL is Dustin Byfuglien at 260 lbs. Tryamkin is bigger than Byfuglien and is still only 20 years old. He is a big, big dude. It’s worth taking that measurement with a grain of salt, of course, as Tryamkin certainly doesn’t look Byfuglien-sized in that highlight video, though other weights on the KHL website do not seem to be inflated.
  6. From the parts ive seen so far, The entire team doesn't look great. Wouldn't even know this is the same team that played Canada a bit ago. To many penalties As I am posting this though, USA picks it up and scores to make it 2-3

  12. That was awesome to see. Sedins are the first ones up to shake his hand.
  13. Horvat and Hansen Blew My Mind Tonight.

  14. If Bo gets sent down, There really isn't any guarantee his offense will improve more than if he spends his time in the NHL. He may get more time in the line up. OHL is slower paced and the coach plays him in top defensive match up as a shut down center. He is not being pushed by London knights to be a their main offensive threat.
  15. I'm about to have a heart attack. I wonder how fast desjardin Heart is beating right now. 1 min left on power play for oilers. 2 min left in the game

  23. This new ruling hasn't started yet. I think it is expected to start in the Next Offseason. So we should be safe from that. From the article The Senators received a conditional draft pick as a result of that fracas and no club has been compensated similarly since. That can be expected to change, maybe beginning as soon as next offseason. http://forum.canucks.com/topic/361381-report-nhl-to-reintroduce-draft-pick-compensation-for-front-office-coaching-hires/
  24. RFA Question Example Johansen with CBJ. If they can not come to a contract agreement. What happens? Arbitration? and what ever the decision is Johansen is forced to sign? If NHL starts before an agreement is made does he have to sit out in the box until there is a contract? Has this ever happened before or in most cases is the RFA signed before the season starts?
