  1. It is the agents job, and self interest, to squeeze what he can out of any organisation. The players could be willing to sign but are following the advice of whom they have hired to negotiate on their behalf. The agent has no interest or empathy towards the cap or hand-cuffing an organisation. He works on commission. Unless a player represents himself there will be no team friendly deals to be had.
  2. "Draft and develop" is tough when the draft pick is poor and the development is basically non existent. Green worked with JV in Utica, but the guy feels entitled, and Green knew he was stuck with this kid as JB`s pick. Internal politics. JV lacked the IQ on, and sadly, off the ice. Good luck kid! Hope you can figure it out.
  3. You could call up from AHL and expose that piece instead while getting something for Holtby. Or?
  4. Guess Holtby will be trade deadline bait due to the expansion.
  5. All the fringe guys (except JV) would clear waivers anyway IMO.If Adam has earned it, then play him. LE will be kept to kill penalties @ 6 mill per (untradeable). Bye Goldy and Schaller, maybe Motte as well if another guy can kill penalties for him. Pretty sure JB is trying to get a trade to reclaim something for these guys, but good luck with that.
  6. Hard to compete with totally different tax implications. The league should be looking for parity on that issue as it is a huge bargaining chip.
  7. Any Fantasy hockey sites other than Yahoo or Fantrax?

      Thanks Jaku!

  8. I hope Jake has trained hard and can take a page out of Roussel, Miller(?) and Ferland`s book to provide some crash and bang all over the place. Nowhere to hide wolfpack mentality would win a lot of games.
  9. Well spotted (It was cocktail hour)! The first bar/restaurant I entered in Vilnius a guy came in carrying his hockey gear and sticks, so I struck up a conversation. I have been to Riga as well, where you can admire more Russian architecture.
  10. Actually, yes. Spent a week in and around Vilnius. Even got used to the bow ties fairly quickly.
  11. Quite the neck on ole Jimbo, especially compared to Freddy boy. Same barber apparently though after all these years! Loyalty can be a good thing.
  12. Best fantasy hockey site for making a wager?

      Fantrax hands down

Thanks! I will check it out. I have been on Yahoo for fun but since I am in Sweden they won`t let me bet money.

  13. If this is so, then Jimbo is definitely all-in on a contract extension for himself.
  14. Acquiring Miller provides immediate help and cost certainty for 4 years at a reasonable cap hit. Would have preferred two 2nds rather than a 1st but there may have been other suitors. Hopefully Juolevi is ready to step in and contribute this season. If so we could be pushing hard for the playoffs this year. JB answers to FA and his job is on the line. That affects decision making. I just hope we don't blow the load on UFA that becomes another Loui contract crippling the team down the road. Go Nucks.
  15. You`re pushing 39 000 posts and you have a wife? LOL
  16. If you find long and tedious posts with no sense of reality "fun" then good for you. I just find them tiresome. Still waiting for Dane Fox...
  17. Wow. And the chances of it playing out like this are...?
  18. I would expect some serious Yakupov gag reflex.
  19. I expect Jimbo to trade down from what I have been hearing from his interviews. They must have someone on their radar from the tier 3 group at around 15 is my guess. Not sure what could be acquired to move down though. A 3rd?
  20. Ohhh BooBoo, not again. How dare they? Here`s some marshmallows to stick in your piggy bank. That always makes you feel better.
  21. I am willing to bet it does not turn out this way Alf. Name your wager. Ditto My list 1. Kakko 2. Hughes 3. Byram 4. Dach 5. Turcotte 6. Cozens 7. Zegras 8. Boldy 9. Krebs 10. Newhook 11. Podkolzin 12. Boldy 13. Caulfield
  22. Slightly different "toughness" element. Reaves is probably top 3 tough guy in the league (and soon to be extinct). Jake has withered on the vine after his big hit junior video collection IMO. Is he really a "power foward" or just a bigger body who plays soft? Jake can skate and may produce 20 goals if he raises his low water mark night to night, but I really don`t see power forward in his game to compare him to Reaves`old-school toughness. My 2 cents.
