Apparently, Gaudette is on USA radar, to be a possible candidate on the Olympic roster. If this is true I think this would be a great opportunity for the kid.
I remember reading earlier this year that while he was a Senators prospect that management wanted him to have one more season in Europe, before bringing him to North America. Not sure if that means anything now but just throwing that in.
The Canucks have shown they're not afraid to send players for an overager year in the CHL. I don't mind him playing in a mens league, it'll be great development, and the Canucks own his rights for another 2 seasons.
Very surprised of his point totals. Before training camp he was probably penciled in as the 4C. But he's moved up and down the line up, and provided consistent offence. Plus he's signed for 900K this year and next. Great job by Benning. This is why we don't jump the gun on assessing trades!
I really hope we can sign him this year, he'd be tremendous help to Utica. Probably isn't ready for NHL anytime soon, but he could play a significant role as their top centre.
I like the contract, the term is not too long on a goaltender who had one full season with the club. The money isn't too expensive. Not much to dislike about it. Hopefully he'll continue to trend upward.
