      In the original tweet, the Canucks are listed alongside a number of other "frontrunners" including Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, and Pittsburgh Penguins. I literally think it's just a list of teams that have approached his camp to inquire what his asking price is. And obviously our local hockey media ran with it on a slow Canucks news day.

       

      Canucks don't have the cap space to do this. Also it doesn't solve the 3C or Defense questions.

      Buffalo would have to be nuts to move Dahlin, he's gotta be viewed as one of the post-Eichel building blocks. Same with Hayton I'd imagine, he's young and cost effective enough for Arizona to want to keep. 

       

      The Arizona experiment needs to end, let Quebec have em.

      I actually became huge fans of them when they boo'd the living monkey piss out of Tavares when he returned for the first time.     

       

      I've only ever had two "official" "2nd favourite" teams in the NHL (80's Oilers + Yzerman era Wings), but I have a bit of a thing for the Isles.  Maybe not official "2nd favourite" status yet, but they have my attention.

      After the latest developments, I believe Clark isn't returning for other reasons than Benning, safe to say. The coaching staff/management, despite the poor results last year, appear to remain cohesive. I, for one, am excited to see what new things they'll come up this year. I previously didn't like the assistant coaches and wanted them fired, but if the players support the coaches, then I will support the coaches too.

      There is a very real human factor involved in this. The coaches would NOT be back if the players disagreed with them.

      if JB would have to signed OEL there wouldn't be enough money to sign several players. i'm not saying toffoli's wrong but without knowing the whole timing of the happenings, i'm not saying JB is wrong either, i would have to know everything that went on then. for that, i'ld have to had been there. otherwise i would flow the direction that best suited to my own narrative. thank you jim for the team your trying to build and good luck.
