  1. You should change your name to "Offended_easily_Need_a_safe_space"
  2. Curious. Do you think he could be worse then Pouliot? He is a risk reward type player and he will give up the puck plenty during his time, but he is also going to be playing with Pettersson. You put those 2 on the ice and there is going to be magic on a game to game basis. The way he can pivot with the puck and leave players in his wake will be amplified in the NHL, where everyone is where they're supposed to be on the ice. Did Boeser need to see any time in the AHL? We're looking at the same thing with Hughes. He's just that good and he'll adapt to the game quickly the way he did in the world championship with the US last year.
  3. It's a weird thing that some are holding his decision to leave the NHL as a personal attack. If he signs another KHL deal next year and gives up on the Canucks as a franchise then so be it, but his path to the NHL goes through the Canucks for another 3 years. Getting him as a 25 year old in the prime of his career would be a huge boost to the organization despite what your personal feelings are on the situation. His game is better suited to the NHL than the bigger ice surface of the KHL. It's too bad that the coaching staff weren't willing to accept his flaws and work with him as a raw rookie. Apparently he is a fan of coach Green and if he sees that the team isn't going to be a bottom feeder for his time in the NHL, he will return. If he isn't taking lessons in english, then maybe he doesn't have the desire to come back to the NHL, but it's still PURE SPECULATION. The only people in this thread that have given any information are stierlitz and harry kneel. All the rest is white noise and emotion.
  4. I've seen way too many Virtanen+ for Ferland suggestions. Have a look at their development and you won't feel that way. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/45473/micheal-ferland https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/120197/jake-virtanen Virtanen is 4 years younger and Ferland took the jump in his game in Virtanen's upcoming season. He just isn't a player you give up on. Yanne Gourde and Ferland are examples of why you don't give young players away. Live and die by your draft picks. Your recent success is an indicator of future success.
  5. Well he does have 16 wins, but that's in 37 games not 27. His 1st game was Nov 6. And the record over that time is 16-18-3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_Los_Angeles_Kings_season
  6. Yeah I guess I shoulda looked that one up. I just remember watching a few times after he got traded to the same team as Brisebois in junior and he wasn't physical and definitely didn't play to his size.
  7. I would give him more than 1 game to adjust and gain confidence
  8. Nobody could have predicted he would be this good. Ummmm.
  9. Popcorn vendor, check 50/50 ticket salesman, check parking valet, check Is there anything this guy can't do? Agree that Marky has improved his puckhandling, but really there was nowhere to go but up
  10. Not to mention his ability to handle the puck. The Canucks have never had a goalie who was really good at that. In fact they have all pretty much sucked unless you can find one I'm not thinking of atm. It hasn't been on display yet, but he will separate himself with his puckhandling ability.
  11. Butterfly is great, but at 6'4" with long legs it is amazing to watch him do the full splits the way he does and cover the entire bottom of the net. His athleticism is off the charts.
  12. So you figure Goldy wouldn't make this list? I think Schaller and Biega might make this list too if offered up. I definitely think Goldy gets snagged though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_NHL_transactions#Waivers
  13. Neill was small though and ended up going the Canadian college route. I'd spend a contract on Brassard even if there's just an off chance he could get a game or 2 in at the NHL level. He has a great shot and presence at the blueline and could at least carve out a good career in the AHL.
  14. Writing on the wall is a weird subjective thing and it's my whole point. A fight of that magnitude needs to be left until a winner is decided. The crowd was booing the initial decision. Herb Dean should ref these big fights.
  15. I watched it a few times and I thought it was an early stoppage. I'll watch it a few more I suppose and it's so much easier to make the decision after the fact, but I still haven't seen an angle that leads me to be believe that it wasn't a quick stoppage. Interested to see when or if this link gets banned. https://www.mma-core.com/videos
  16. If the ref in the main event had stepped in and stopped the fight after all of those vicious elbows to Texiera's head, then he wouldn't have had an opportunity to come back. I think Dillishaw should have been KO'd to lose that fight.
  17. But for a fight of that magnitude, the referee turns into the decider. Did you watch the Texeira fight? There are plenty of examples of fights that should have gone longer or stopped earlier. I don't think we got the result from tonight that proved anything
  18. There just wasn't ending a strike that ended the fight. It was a referee stoppage and they all suck
  19. Indeed. You could see his skull at the weigh-ins. I thought the fight was stopped early though. If the guy is willing to sacrifice himself before the fight, then he should be given that same respect during the fight.
  20. Did you watch the Texiera fight? would you have stopped that fight? That wasn't even a title fight let alone a legacy fight.
  21. My prediction doesn't hold up. What a terrible stoppage though. It's a superfight and they didn't let him go out on his shield. I saw better referring on the undercard.
  22. I like Cejudo but he didn't even win that fight against DJ. TJ will win.
  23. Predict TJ wins. He's going to be huge against Henry. Great card tonight. If you bet on the underdogs you got paid tonight.
  24. who knew a google search of rat bun would yield results.
