  1. Nope. I just don't see it. He passes the eye test and the stars align for him to play in the NHL 17/18. I wouldn't be disappointed at all if he spent 2+ seasons in the AHL, but his technique and competitive drive are on another level. Does anyone know if he has been invited to join the Comets before he goes to the Worlds? I know he has lots going on with trying to finish his degree in the upcoming summers and getting ready to go overseas, but I think it would be beneficial to start getting to know his teammates straight away.
  2. It's the 2nd tier prospects that you didn't address in your post that would benefit with an ECHL team. It seems like they're all going to the K-wings anyways, but the Cederholm McEneny, Valk, Labate, Neill, Olsen, Jasek, Mckenzie, Petit types, that could find themselves coming up together before they reach the AHL, should be given their own team. Labate did it and you would like to see that pipeline continue. I don't see the Comets as willing to go full on rookie even though I would love to see the team put as many of the Canucks' prospects in the lineup as possible.
  3. yes obviously not overnight, but he is going to prove himself as more than a prospect before the trade deadline. When team USA invites a 3rd year College student to the World Championship, it tells you something. This kid is the real deal and while he most likely goes through a number of bumps in the road in the AHL next year, I think he comes out of the 16/17 season as a contender for the backup job on the Canucks in 17/18.
  4. I hope he gets a couple games at the Worlds to show what he can do. I'm sure that Demko is better than Markstrom at this age, but Markstrom is battle tested now and he is coming into his own. I love this tandem for the 17/18 season.
  5. Hopefully he can put on some weight this summer and go pro next year. The big advantage to drafting these Europeans is that you can get them into the North American pro leagues sooner. I'd definitely like to see him with our young group that's going to be in Utica next year. I'd also like to see our team with it's own ECHL team since our prospect pool is starting to become deep enough that we can get groups of young players together to gain experience and chemistry.
  6. Demko is a real humanitarian. He just saved a mass of people from collectively jumping from tall buildings. Congrats on your 1st contract and welcome to the most insane fanbase in the NHL. I look forward to watching him put the Comets on his back next year and take them to the Calder playoffs.
  7. This takes me back to communications 201. Just because he doesn't say I think or in my opinion doesn't change the fact that it is his opinion. Anyone could reasonably conclude that however unfounded or presumptive his statements were, they were completely opinion and had no basis in fact. I give him credit for being ultra confident and have a strong opinion while talking firmly out of his butthole. Just offer him a tic-tac and move along.
  8. Is there really? With Hutton and Tryamkin coming out of nowhere and basically stealing spots this year, Sbisa and Larsen being given spots and needing to protect Pedan there isn't any room for him on the Canucks. Benning has said again recently that they are probably going to need 11 defensemen in any given year so it would make zero sense to put a waiver ineligible player in the lineup next year. I put McCann and Virtanen in that same boat and our injuries this last season and during the Torts season, make it clear that we need that minor league depth over the course of an 82 game season.
  9. Your statement is begging to be argued with. Some guy on here says he's a big Avs fan? So what? Maybe he wants to make his father proud and have a chance to play at home someday.
  10. ^^ Tryamkin LH shot that plays well on the right side.
  11. Can you pick yourself out of a lineup? Which one are you?
  12. He signed with the Jets a couple weeks ago :/
  13. This is the stuff of legend. I don't recall ever seeing anyone drinking from it, but I have seen someone rip that leg off and hold it above their head and shake it like a Tusken Raider. It's a damn shame they can't fit more than 3000 fans in that arena, but they are among the most rowdy fans in North America. I doubt if that would affect anyone's decision to sign a contract, but it certainly doesn't hurt having that kind of support behind your team. I agree with those that say Larsen has the leg up (pun intended) on Biega for a spot on the Canucks. Biega deserved a callup spot this year, but since he's an undersized D-man, he would likely clear waivers and have the C pinned on his chest in Utica. Stetcher needs some seasoning in the A before he gets the call, unless he goes full on Hutton and steals a spot. With Bennings recent comments about needing 11 D-men however, it would make no sense to have Stetcher make the team. Great signing, even though it probably one of the easiest sell jobs Benning will ever have to make. The kid was wearing a Canucks sweater to NDU practices.
  14. Well I guess I won't be opening this thread back up for awhile. People are actually starting to agree with Desi and Alf. Too many chicken little tards are ruining the exchange of information and actual discussion. I really only come to these forums for information and highlights the like of Stierlitz and WTG provide, but it's an endless sea of out-to-lunchers to wade through these days.
  15. Brock's going to be big man on campus next year and have a huge leadership role on that NDU team. I don't see how that's anything but positive. I would have liked to see him become a Comet next year and learn the pro game a year sooner, but this is the next best thing and it won't hurt his development at all. On another note, it's funny when people talk about getting an education and that all important degree to fall back on. There isn't a degree in the world that will afford a person the opportunity to come out their first year in the workforce and make a million dollars. It's at least 10 times the base salary for someone coming out college. It's a silly argument that just sounds like empty rhetoric and grasping at straws.
  16. So the NCHC rookie of the year named to the All-American team starting lineup for the East in his first year, is going to wait 3 more years before turning pro. I guess that makes about as much sense as anything you say.
  17. What is the likelihood that Boeser plays 3 more years for NDU and becomes a free agent in 2019?
  18. pretty much fact summarizes your knowledge of the situation. You're pretty much trolling. I'm going to edit this post because I think what you are doing is different than trolling. You actually believe what you are saying and that is perfectly clear. A troll is someone who is just saying something to get a rise out of people, and while you are doing that, you are saying it because you honestly believe it. In my mind what you are saying is patently stupid, moronic, idiotic, and a waste of time, but your opinion is valid, because you have an opinion. Where you become a nuisance is when you repeat yourself to the same audience. We get it. You think Demko won't sign because there's another team that he covets. You don't need to say that in every thread you visit. There might be a need to coin a new term. Call it ALFing Sorry for sidetracking the Boeser thread. I pumped my fist when we drafted him and I'm happy to see his development take a quantum leap this year.
  19. Your amateur opinion is based on mindless speculation. Give it a rest. You have no idea what these guys are going to do and I suspect that Demko is looking at the Canucks goaltending depth and raking them over the coals a bit, but again that's pure speculation. Your views on college free agency are well documented and I don't see the need for you to be saying the same sh!t over and over and over and over and...
  20. Every time you type Demko's name you are trolling. It has crossed over into several threads now. You are 100% trolling after basically spamming your views on the situation. Wait another year before you flip your lid.
  21. He has the same approach as Gaunce. He does need to improve his quickness, but he doesn't waste energy trying to get to spots on the ice. That's why when you watch him closely, he sometime looks like he's coasting or floating around. When the play does come to him though, he can turn on the jets pretty well for a young player. I hate the word elite. Connor McDavid and Jake Virtanen are prospects that may be in that category.
  22. Is it time to close this thread? He hasn't been a prospect since training camp.
