  1. I don't think I need to gear down lol. Tryamkin already moves much better than Chara ever has! If this kid can make the transition he has every bit of potential to surpass Chara as a player. Even Nikita himself says he doesn't wanna be compared to Chara because he thinks he will be much better than Chara ever was. I don't doubt he will be better after watching the guy move. He skates just as well as anyone else and can sure get moving in a hurry! Something Chara really struggled with for quite some time at first. He's only what 19-20 years old so Ya Im pretty stoked! Just another solid pick by JB Oh and if you look at Chara body build type compared to Tryamkin its like night and day. Tryamkin has a very athletic muscled build vs Chara's lanky skinny build. Looking at Nikita I would swear he has to weigh at least 280 lbs. Chara gets his strength from the shear size of his frame and length of his muscles where as Nikita has that plus he has a very athletic muscular build in addition. I think its pretty easy to see that if Tryamkin can bring his game to the NA rink then he will be better in a lot of ways which is super good news for us!
  2. Kinda cool too that he's already buds with the rest of the rookies on the team.
  3. I think he's gonna do awesome once he gets past the adjustment phase. He reminds me of the Russian in Rocky IV lol. Which is a good thing. I like his attitude! He already moves much better than Chara so if he can translate his game to the NA style I think well have one heck of a hockey player. JB knows! That's why he picked him!
  4. Well he definitely has the desire. I remember watching Chara when he came into the league. Chara was a very awkward skater and had mobility issues. But he worked hard and made his stamp in the NHL. Tryamkin is Sooo much further ahead than Chara was so I have no problem saying that Tryamkin will be better. Tryamkin is already more mobile than Chara ever was, and he is pretty good at clearing the front of the net lol he's like a bull dozer lol What was Chara so good at that Tryamkin wont be? Watching Tryamkin highlights makes me think he's close to being as good as Chara right now let alone after a few more years of development. I was watching a clip of his pre draft interview with JB last night and found it interesting that he told them in the interview that he planned on coming to the NHL after playing 2 more years in the KHL. Looks like everything is going as planned.
  5. Linden said 6'7" and 245 lbs. Every thing I've read says 6"8" and 245 Pretty lanky with that height to weight ratio. Virtanen is 6" shorter but only ways 20-25lbs less. That would explain why he's so mobile. The Lanky guys usually are very good skaters. He still has enough weight to throw around tho to have a huge physical impact on the game. This guy will be better than Chara ever was. Tryamkin supposedly has a lot more skill than Chara and skates better too.
  6. Exactly. Pretty sure if there was anything illegal about it they would have given Burrows the max !
  7. So what exactly was illegal about it? Its doubtful that it even qualifies as an interference penalty. Im pretty sure Diving is reviewable though.
  8. Well at least they finally figured out how to handle the horrible officiating. Win the damn game and shove it right back down there throats. That's how its done in the real world.
  9. I hear Jay Feaster is looking for a job
  10. Like it's been said before Torts has only exposed the holes in our line up and players abilities. I say keep them both. Its funny teams win by being a team. Organizations win by doing the same
  11. The problem with the Sundin thing was that he waited half the year or more to say yes. Our team was immediately better with Sundin on the ice for us. If he had started with us at the beginning of the year, we would have had much better success at the end of the year
  12. Our prospect pool is lookin pretty good after last draft. Would like to see that continue
  13. I'm scared of someone else taking over. Will it be better than what we got ? New just means all current people and plans being fired, doesn't mean we will fare any better.
  14. The way I see it Gillis learned on the job which created more than a few mistakes ! But I think he's got it figured out now, just too bad he made so many damn mistakes with NTC's huge unmovable contracts and treating good guys like crap. If he stops trying to cover over his mistakes with lame excuses and other people as scape goats and focuses on doing his job even better, then we will be just fine. Torts will be a good thing moving forward unless of course Gillis fires him in an attempt to save face. most likely scenario unless Francesco stops him. If, Gillis learned anything he will put his nose to the grind stone and give us a better team for next year and continue to think long term, and, Torts stays and develops our current players as well as our kids coming up, then I whole heartedly believe real success is on the horizon AV was just puttin the pedal to the metal. Torts is making sure all the bolts are tight first !
