Simplest answer is usually the correct one.  They intended to close it down, were surprised by the outcry from the fans and employees and are now 2nd guessing the original decision.

Unfortunately, I think it's too late for CDC; at least for what it was before the announcement as the community has moved over CFF and I don't think there is a huge appetite to migrate back.

Sooner or later we're going to have to do monthly server/board cost donations for the new site.  It's running SN/Ribs around $150-$200 per month.

  11. I'm not saying we should overwrite/"correct" human nature, but this "anything goes' attitude is a slippery slope. There's a need for brakes in a society, and these values/morality developed for a reason. Just for example, a promiscuous person carries STDs at a much higher rate, so there's just one of the evolutionary "brakes" for you. Your body tells you to f**k everything that moves, but common sense should dictate not to do that. They balance each other out, but if you lift common sense out of the equation, that's where it starts to fall apart. And it starts at the cultural level, so that's why I'm not a huge fan of this type of behavior.
  12. I wouldn’t call it harmless. First of all, as you can see it already caused some problems and distress for the Wennberg family. Second, it’s harmful for the younger audience who might watch that trash of a woman and get the idea to imitate it later on. I mean, do you really want to condone that type of behavior? My golden rule is the following: would I want my son/daughter to behave like that? That’s a very easy answer for me, a resounding no. How about you? Would you be okay with that type of behavior if it was your daughter doing that? (or perhaps directed at) I’m 31 btw, but I don’t think this has anything to do with age. More like values, upbringing and having some class.
  13. Does anyone have a copy of Alice McDermott's That Night? I'd like to buy a copy with this cover, but can't find it anywhere.
