Simplest answer is usually the correct one.  They intended to close it down, were surprised by the outcry from the fans and employees and are now 2nd guessing the original decision.

Unfortunately, I think it's too late for CDC; at least for what it was before the announcement as the community has moved over CFF and I don't think there is a huge appetite to migrate back.

Sooner or later we're going to have to do monthly server/board cost donations for the new site.  It's running SN/Ribs around $150-$200 per month.

I think he's over-rated. Joe Bowen the radio play by play guy is way better to listen to. He's a homer, but he also tells it like it is. Technically CC is fine. But his voice just grates me. He seems to be bigger Leaf homer in recent years. I'd rather listen to Shorty. I wouldn't put him even close with Hughson and Robson. He's tier II at best. Is he better than Singh? Yes. But that's not saying much.

Loser player. No team will win with him as a key piece.

If he can pull off that move against an NHL defense/ on a shootout then we'll talk.
Michigan and Dishigan are remarkable but it's different when done against your own team.

Can't stand this egotistical show off. He thinks he's an I in team.

  6. We are going through some truly miserable times rn, but man, this team was dominant in the regular season for over a decade (2001-13)... just go ahead and sort by almost any category, we were at the very top in the league... sigh

Crazy to think that I was a lamenting a 92 point season in 2005-06. Back then, being out of the playoffs felt like such a miserable disappointment compared to a lot of the expectation this year.

    3. Roberts

      Roberts

Everyone on the roster got playoff experience nearly every year. just compare the Sedins to Horvat, Sedins had countless playoff appearances, meanwhile Horvat has only had like a couple.

  7. Do a rebuild, and while we're at it go back to the skate jersey. The Sabres have won all 5 games of theirs with the goathead jersey, scoring 6 in each. Granted they have a pretty good team over there, this is what Dahlin thinks of the jersey's psychological effect:

The Buffaslug is a better representation of the team. Just as a downhill skate is the perfect representation of the the Canucks.

  8. I've been experiencing a small problem on this site. When I browse a thread and click on either the previous or next page button, it always jumps to the bottom of the next/previous page, so I have to scroll all the way up to the top to continue reading. Any fix for this?

I have checked the source code and determined that a few of the scripts are deprecated, meaning they might not work as intended. however, it could very likely be a you thing. make sure your phone and browser or app is updated. then if you did that i suggest you post a thread on the bugs page. its holiday season and this info might not get to the right eyes.

2011 was the best Canucks team ever, and one of the best NHL teams I've ever seen.

The team didn't have the same jump in 2012, and lost a few important pieces (Ehrhoff, Torres, healthy Malhotra, etc).

Sportsnet and governments complicit in creating a whole new generation of gambling addicts. Billions funneled into government approved sport-gambling (that's been neatly marketed as "sports-betting").  Gonna/has already created huge investment opportunity preying on couch potatoes who think they have skin in the game because they have money riding on the outcome.

They'll never be a legit contender as long as they have Rielly disgracing the sport with his refusal to even attempt to play like an NHLer in his own zone.  You can't win when you have a guy like that wearing a letter creating a culture where that kind of play is acceptable.

      Canucks used this.

Demitra was injured until January and Daniel only missed about 20 ish games.

@Chickenspear I would hope zero... Gotta say, watching this makes me really feel for Sabres fans. Those teams (05-07) were SO good and exciting to watch. They really should have come out of those years with a cup, and things have been a total disaster since. Even as a Nucks fan it's heartbreaking to think about. But they, that's what hey get for taking Perrrault from us.

    3. Rubik

      Rubik

@Herberts Vasiljevs didn't they play Carolina with their top 4 defencemen missing in the conference final in 2006? and still taking the series to game 7?

YT just recommended me that Campbell hit, now this is really good quality:

  21. lol Timo Meier with 5 goals in 2 periods so far against the Kings. I can already hear Doughty's post-game comments: "A guy like him..."

    1. Coconuts

Kings were honestly the better team, but Meier couldn't miss and Quick couldn't stop anything. Sometimes hockey's weird like that.

  22. An all-female broadcasting team for the Montreal - Arizona game for today. This is quite fun. At the beginning of the season I didn't like how Hextall called the goals, it was very high-pitched (I guess she just tried to emulate the "excitement" of her male colleagues with the sudden rise of intonation), but now she calls them in a very different way, in a much lower pitch, finally creating her own unique style I guess. And more importantly, they have a really good chemistry. I like it a lot now.

Yeah, you can't expect someone who's new to be great right out of the gate. It takes a lot of practice to be good at it. Most people who start calling at that level have already been calling for years on radio to get experience there.
