  1. I'd ask @Alflives but I don't think he was on Earth at that point.
  2. Personally, I would have lead with your later qualm instead. At least that one is subjective and you could make a case for us losing a Canadian value based on it. Saying we're losing what it means to be Canadian based on a two word change to an anthem which has had numerous versions of it throughout the years seems like the smallest of potatoes.
  3. The line was originally "thou dost in us command" before it was changed by 1913 to "in all thy sons command"; which was a year before WWI began. So unless someone had one hell of a premonition, that isn't true. Besides, I would hope Canadian culture is more than two words in the national anthem.
  4. I think the solution is probably somewhere in the middle between appeasing terrorists and killing entire families based solely on the actions of one family member.
  5. I always thought that was a great method for making more terrorists, personally.
  6. What message? You threw out a hypothetical situation and when it wasn't agreed with, you jumped to "so we should do nothing about terrorists?". That's quite a bit of middle ground you've decided to skip entirely past.
  7. I don't know if that's the answer for Canada but the US and Iran sure as hell bare responsibility; so both should be responsible for compensating the victims' families.
  8. Oh, I didn't think you were advocating firing missiles willy-nilly in Tehran but what would targeted strikes accomplish for Canada in the end? Wouldn't it be mostly symbolic?
  9. To what end though? Destroy a couple of military targets in retaliation?
  10. If I’m not mistaken, I believe the suite against the Washington Post was thrown out.
  11. I find it much more likely that Iran, expecting possible retaliation from their attack, accidentally shot the plane down than the Americans did it to frame Iran. If the Americans had done it, I think president dip$&!# would be all over it and using it as an excuse to try to ramp up hostilities; which he doesn't seem to want to do today. Of course but of the three scenarios, (accident, US did it to frame Iran, Iran did it accidentally), I have to go with the last one.
  12. Now it's being reported that the plane was indeed shot down:
  13. I was simply summing up your whinging over the last couple of weeks. For what it’s worth, I do agree that rising costs of living and stagnating wages are issues we need to deal with, but to say we’re all slaves based on that (in a thread featuring people being sold at full blown slave auctions) is just asinine.
  14. I found a picture of Torts from April 30th, 2019.
  15. I think that comes down to semantics but whether you call it a privilege or an advantage. However, I also think height is pretty damn low on the physical attributes we should worry about getting you ahead in life. I wouldn't even have mentioned height but it got brought up and I thought the studies done on the correlation between it and wages were interesting.
  16. Who got wrecked? Where? Said by a man who desperately wants everyone to know how oppressed he is because he's white and pays taxes. Increased cost of living and taxes are issues but calling them slavery? You sound like a complete child.
  17. Yes, paying taxes is definitely the same thing as being a slave. Slam dunk post, take a bow.
