  1. Is the current Coronavirus banner on CDC the medical warning equivalent of "it is your birthday"?
  2. With NBA and NHL teams sharing locker rooms, they didn't have much of a choice.
  3. You know how sometimes the crowd noise and announcers go quite just in time to hear a player yell "&^@# you!"? It'd just be a whole lot of that guys yelling nicknames that end in "sy".
  4. The fact that he's deciding between Vancouver and Detroit is hilarious.
  5. While COVID19 is a much less lethal virus, there's now direct links between Rudy Gobert's dumb, infected ass and multiple NBA and NHL teams. It's hard to call out leagues for not canceling games 10 and 15 years ago when you could point to a direct vector that could spread across multiple teams in this instance. Christ, remember how dumb the NHL looked when Sydney Crosby played looking like this?
  6. I don't know. I think most players would still jump at the chance to play for the cup, even if it meant next to no time off before the next season. Yeah, I just can't envision the full season being played now.
  7. I'm sure it's an overreaction but I would much rather they do this than risk players being one of the 0.2% in that age range that actually develops into a fatal case.
  8. If it's that long? Finishing the season with the traditional amount of games and playoff series would be logistically impossible. The NHL would most likely cancel the regular season games and do a highly truncated playoffs like single games or best of 3.
  9. If Markstrom is actually back within the next 10 days or so, and Eriksson being banished to the 4th line, they're making the playoffs.
  10. Huh, the first jersey retirement ever for Florida....and they announce it the day before and do it before a random game with the Canadiens? Florida and Vancouver's marketing and PR team are worlds apart in quality, I guess.
  11. We'll know more in two weeks when he gets re-evaluated. How about we hold off on "his last game as a Canuck" until then?
  12. It was about 7 weeks. He did a conditioning stint in the AHL last week, played Monday when Merzļikins went down with an injury and backed up Tuesday. So I think it's way more likely Markstrom is back before the playoffs versus him having played his last game as a Canuck.
  13. There just isn't something about a knee injury where one finishes the game they were playing, travels with the team, then realizes something isn't right afterwards and gets minor surgery to fix it that says "out for the season" to me.
  14. Well, I've never been one of those so never. However, A ) not all surgeries are the same B ) there's been nothing to suggest that Markstrom will be out for the remainder of the season.
  15. Damn. I was hoping the Canucks would look at Carrier as a cheap free agent this summer.
  16. Oh, I guess that is for the season, not career. Still grim as hell though, lol.
  17. And yet there are still those out there who think Ottawa is in a more enviable spot than Vancouver because they happen to have to buttload of draft picks over the next couple of years.
  18. Yes, that's what Benning does. He trades the guys Brackett scouts just to spit him.
  19. I just checked, Hughes currently has 14 multi-point games in 66 career games. A 5 year timeline for him beating this would actually be conservative based on his current output.
