  1. Only slightly. People ignoring health problems until they become dire, because they can't afford to see a doctor, is an issue here.
  2. Because all of what you wrote boiled down to "those governments are bad and they deserve to look bad to their people" while ignoring that governments don't catch viruses; the people living there do. But yes, when you call it karma, that's what you're implying.
  3. Again, you're conflating the governments with the populations of those countries. But hey, I'm sure when coronavirus tears through North Korea, you'll take comfort in thinking the people who will inevitably die deserve it for being born there.
  4. So if there's a massive outbreak in Canada, will you call it karma for the government's mistreatment of aboriginals? You may consider it karma against an oppressive government but it's still going to be the people over there that die.
  5. Bieksa could do that gig in his sleep without the problematic baggage.
  6. Man, if he could actually move Suter or Parise's contract, I might think there's a method to the madness.
  7. It's hard to sell off a top 6 winger for futures (Galchenyuk definitely is not the main attraction in Minnesota's return) and then say "Now play your asses off to make the playoffs or I'll trade you too!".
  8. Personally, I really enjoyed that sequence.
  9. &^@#ing terrible for my fantasy team but great for the Canucks.
  10. I think that’s a completely elementary take on racism in contemporary society. It’s pretty damn rare to come across someone so racist that they won’t even be seen with someone of another ethnicity; particularly if there’s social capital to be gained from being around them. I guess it’s comforting for simple folk to tell themselves “well, he’s willing to be around black people, how racist can he be?” though?
  11. I mean, &^@#, this dude is smiling at a black guy while handing him a basketball! How could he possibly be racist?
  12. Yes because being willing to be photographed with black people who have social clout doesn’t mean you can’t possibly be a racist.
  13. My gut says this is bull$&!#. It really doesn't look like those people died (if they're even actually dead) from illness.
  14. I don't want to accuse anyone of anything right now but there is that old cliche that springs to mind: "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole".
  15. I find that my day to day experiences, barring terrible traffic and the insanely high quality of Mexican food here, is more or less the same as they were in Vancouver. About the most "ignorant" thing I regularly hear when I tell people I'm Canadian is "Y'all are so nice!". While that may be a stereotype, I can think of much worse things than people thinking I'm predisposed to be nice; so it really doesn't bother me at all.
  16. As a transplant duel citizen living in the US, that hasn't been my experience at all. Maybe it's a you problem?
  17. Does Green deserve a Jack Adams for turning Loui into a fan favorite? That’s a task that would have seemed Sisyphean a month ago.
  18. The fact that it's not considered a pipe dream is a testament to the team's improvement.
  19. I'm just going to play it save and say all the points.
  20. Sharks fans on Twitter have totally prepared themselves to lose this game. It's pretty satisfying to see that after the last four or five years.
