wouldnt mind him -
Yikes. That is why I was worried to stay at 132 Lol. Thanks for letting me know - my concern wasn't unfounded.

Thanks @Gally for making this trade possible. We had been eyeing Jacob Dion (Pick 122) for the better part of a round and a half. We saw him listed on only 2 professional scouting lists ranging between 90 and 120. We were ecstatic to move up and felt we couldn't risk letting him get picked ahead of us at 132. Dion is a smaller offensively minded defenseman 5'9" and 187 pounds in stature. He plays the game with a type courage you need to make plays at his size. The kahunas he plays with gives us hope that he may one day be able to translate at the NHL level. He reminds us quite a bit of Jared Spurgeon and a bit of Torey Krug who we assume is his idol given he wears #47. PIcks at this point are definitely a shot in the dark but we are very excited to see if we can help Jacob develop his talents at the next level. He has the instincts, the heart, and the hands, we will only know in due time. This was Jacob's first year in the Q after spending the past 3 seasons in the QMAAA. We felt this being his first full year in the Q may also account for a bit of an adjustment for the young dman. Artur Akhtyamov (Pick 127) has been high on our draft board since early last month. We keyed in on him as an potential starting goaltender at the NHL level. He has phenomenal athleticism, poise, and a well rounded goaltending game. He played 46 games in the MHL last season and has done very well. So far this season he has posted good results in both the M and VHL leagues. He is definitely a project goaltender but we love the attributes and compete he brings. All around a good goalie prospect that we are quite fond of. We look forward to watching his development this season in Bars Kazan of the VHL. Thanks again Gally for allowing me to trade up and secure one more pick in the draft!

Antti Raanta is available if you want a strong 1B. Just need a suitable backup replacement and something worth the swap!

Adding a player of Thomas Chabot's caliber was our goal heading into the pause. We had spoken to multiple teams but were unable to find a deal that made sense. Moving the 3rd Overall Pick was not something I had expected to do that day. But when you are giving a player of Thomas' caliber it is hard to turn your head the other way. Bailey had a very strong post-season and we identified him early on in this process he was a player of interest for us. Adding a top 6 forward to replace Krejci's production was important for us. Parting with Jake Virtanen stung a bit given he out produced Bailey last season but we believe the experience Bailey brings will be incredibly useful for us moving forward when our teams play matters the most. IE the playoffs. We attempted to sign Ryan Reaves last summer but came up short. We instead went to our fall back plan of Brandon Tanev who has been a solid regular season producer for us, unfortunately due to the flat cap and his understated postseason play we were forced to make a difficult decision to save salary. We would like to thank the Toronto Maple Leafs for reaching out with this proposal. Chabot is a player we believe has the potential to be a #1 or very strong #2 for many years to come. We are confident both in his ability and the team he plays for in the NHL. The Sens may look bad now but with their growing prospect pool I feel safe betting on them and Thomas for the future of our franchise. Of course we will be sacrificing salary dollars to a non playoff contributor for a few years but we are confident he is worth the wait. Adding top pairing defenseman isn't an easy task especially one as young as Thomas. We have reached out to his agent and are currently in talks to get him extended here in CBJ! We look forward to another strong year and we hope to build on our success from the 2019-20 season! We didn't quite finish top 10 but we made the playoffs and pushed a top team to the brink. So for that we can be proud! We will probably need to take another step past this one to truly be in contention but we are optimistic about the strides we have taken both last season and this summer! Thanks so much @Brock Botanen for the trade talks! I hope you draft 2 studs at 1st and 3rd overall! Your franchise deserves some success. We would like to wish David Krejci and his family all the best. Unfortunately we were not able to win a championship this year! We tried our best and put up a good fight but we came up short. Krejci's role on our team since joining last season has been monumental for our young core. Pierre-Luc Dubois has learned a lot from David and we owe a lot of our team success to the culture he helped bring into our locker room. Due to covid, the flat cap, and our trade above we knew we could not retain him beyond this season. We felt it was best we gave him a chance to join another top contender in the East in Tampa to see if he likes the fit. In this trade were able to acquire a replacement 1st Round Pick to help us moving forward. Losing Nick is unfortunate but due to trade demands we had to make a sacrifice upfront and his postseason play was very underwhelming unfortunately. We wish him all the best in Tampa! Thanks @EP40. for these fruitful trade discussions.

Good. Will just tell him he's going to the Ahl next season. He can either show up in the A at a lower cap hit then a buyout.. or he can refuse to show up and he ends up getting terminated. His agent has been given permisson to talk to teams. No one wants him at his current cap hit. He can choose what he wants to do.
