  1. UPDATES TO THE GATEWAY TO THE WEST Additions: To STL: Vasily Podkolzin (A franchise type player imo. Does everything you can want out of a scoring power forward. A tenacious player who does whatever it takes to win.) To STL: Kaapo Kähkönen (A potential franchise tender with a lot of poise and solid foundation to his game.) To STL: Brendan Perlini (A young power forward still finding his game. A great project or trade chip for a team looking for some size.) To STL: Tony Strecher (A fast, attacking, and agile defenseman who can play a solid bottom 3 role on any teams D core.) To STL: Cale Fleury (A physical imposing defenseman with a solid 2-way game. We imagine he will eat lots of minutes for us in the future.) To STL: Ilya Nikolayev (A skilled center with great vision and a strong 2-way game. Linemate of Vasily Podkolzin at the 2019 WJC's.) To STL: Lucas Elvenes (A very promising young forward who has shown great promise in his first season in North America.) To STL: Veini Vehviläinen (A talented finish tender who is arguably CBJ's best non NHL goalie prospect. First season in NA, looking forward to second.) Subtractions: To NYI: Ryan O'Reilly (Best 2 way center in the game on a great contract. Why wouldn't I want that? Couldn't help but make the move for younger pieces.) To NYI: Ilya Sorokin (Probably one of the risker deals I made. Acquired two young studs in Podkolzin and Kaapo through moving Sorokin tho. I wish him well in NYI.) To SJS: Klim Kostin (A talented scoring forward with size on the defending champion Blues. Sad to see him go but we felt the deal made us deeper.) To SJS: Yakov Trenin (An underrated forward with immense size & physical ability. Dominated the AHL and did well in NHL. Depth up front opened room to move him for a D) To BUF: Jonathan Drouin (We had him, then he was gone. Great player just hitting his prime. We felt moving Jonathan for Kaapo was the right choice for our situation.) Have 2 more in the hooper. Will have to wait until Round 3... possibly 4.. Will keep you in the loop :D We feel good about these moves as we have addressed areas of weakness and moved out some quality for some promise. Vasily will be joining Brady as an untouchable in this organization. Kaapo we believe will be our #1 goalie when we are ready to make a push! Willing to listen to offers on Perlini, Nikolayev, and Vehvilvainen. Previous Trades to Date:
  2. Burkie on our UFA, RFA, and 2021 re-sign class. would recommend hearing his take of what he would do. Former gm of van. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/video/point-canucks-spend-money-off-season/ video in link
  3. You are a favorite now @Azzy . How does that make you feel?
  4. Are we able to sign 2019 players now, then add their elc slides with our 2020-21 team budgets? I have Cozens and 1 unannounced acquisition I was looking to sign. Can I do it now and get the slides added with the next seasons budgets or should I wait to post my budget with the slides?
  5. I’m afraid that won’t be enough for when we need to ink petey and hughes. I hope Jim explores getting them signed this summer. Sutter has to be on the way out too. Could see rooster after next season too. its dangerous to move a spark guy like roussel tho. I believe Podkolzin may become that for us in 2 years. Tryamkin may help with that too.
  6. If we opt to go with Demko we could get value for Markus rights. A 3rd and maybe a prospect of a team was hungry enough. A 3rd for sure. the ideal situation would be to re sign marky at a reasonable cap hit with no trade protection. Then we could flip marky if demmer excels splitting starts. If Demko falters we have insulation for next season. DiPietro should be nhl ready in two years. May get some decent looks after next year.
  7. Predictions: NJD vs DET = DET WPG vs NSH = NSH
  8. Updated above. Best of luck to @Azzy @Mike Vanderhoek @canuck2xtreme @Sergei Bobrovsky !
  9. I have already declared this to @Nail but I will do it here publicly as well. NJ uses its penalty free covid buyout on Derek Stepan. Well I am at it. NJ releases: Anthony Louis Mark Friedman Dion Phaneuf
  10. The Goalie of the Future for The St Louis Blues! Ecstatic to welcome him to the fold! Kaapo Kahkonen had a 9.13 SV% and a 2.96 GAA in 5 Games with the Wild this past season. He is 3-1-1 in his 5 NHL games. Kaapo dominated the AHL with a 0.927 SV% in 34 Games for Iowa. Welcome Kappo! ST Louis welcomes you!
  11. I have 2 seconds MTL (Pick 32) and BUF (Pick 51) available for trade. I would like to move up into the first round but am open to other offers for these two. Hit me up. If you have a 1st you'd be willing to trade back for these to 2nd round picks. cheers

  17. I guess I should start to get my kids signed
  18. CBJ Players who are still alive! I have to have someone to cheer for now the nux are out Advancing: Pageau, Jean-Gabriel (C) Lehner, Robin (G) Cousins, Nick (C) McDonagh, Ryan (D) Gourde, Yanni (C) Eliminated: Krejci, David (C) Girard, Samuel (D) Zadorov, Nikita (D) Tanev, Christopher (D) Roussel, Antoine (LW) Virtanen, Jake (RW) Rafferty, Brogan (D) Sanheim, Travis (D) Braun, Justin (D) Bunnaman, Connor (C) Damn I would have lost a lot of my players in Round 2. lol. Not sure I would have stood a chance vs Mike or Azzy. Always next year!
  19. Domi would be a nice fit alongside Bo. They use to play together in Jr too. Having that guy that can throw down and fit well in our systems would be great. We could bump Pearson down to the 3rd line with Gaudette and Jake if he's still around. MIller - Petey - Boeser Domi - Horvat - Tofoffi Pearson - Gaudette - Virt Roussel Beagle Motte I think Lind gets a long look at camp too.
  20. Do we have some trades to announce
  21. Deboer: asked about matchup vs Dallas in the conference finals.... he’s like your going to have to ask me tomorrow. I need a drink after those final 3 games
