Columbus Blue Jackets 2019-20 Pre-Deadline Outlook Columbus GM Rush17 heads into his second trade deadline as GM of the Blue Jackets. Last season was much about remodelling the franchise and getting younger. This season the GM has let his team play out the season for the most part with little changes. The GM recently acquired Kyle Clifford to add more depth to the teams bottom 6 but no sizable moves have been made since the early season acquisition of Jeff Skinner. The teams publicly stated goal for the season was to complete for a playoff spot. Our internal goal however was to become a consistent top 10 team in the league. At this moment we are fortunate enough to be within striking distance of that goal. We know we have some hard road ahead and we look forward to the challenges that will push our squad to the test. Columbus' GM is now actively scouting the trade market to see if there could be another piece he could add to the puzzle. The team is looking to upgrade on non playoff bound assets like Ryan Hartman and potentially even Christian Fischer in the right deal. The team has been reportedly offering up its 2021 2nd and the 2020 3rd it gets to keep from the Yanni Gourde deal. (One of LAK or CBJ). Roster Gourde Dubois Lindholm Skinner Krejci Virtanen Tanev Carter Clifford Hartman Bozak Fischer Girard Pesce Sanheim Tanev Zadorov Braun Blackwood Lehner Scratches: Schaller, Zacha IR: Shaw, Murray If you are interested in talking trade, feel free to message the teams GM @Rush17 to engage in trade talks! The team looking to make a couple improvements to the squad. The health of Top 6 Forward Andrew Shaw and Top 4 D man Ryan Murray remain up in the air. The team is discussing if finding rental replacements for these players is worth it for this season. If you think you might have something that could work. Let us know. Thanks folks!

I feel a little conflicted now. In my Quebec Remparts franchise mode I started last month I picked up Toffoli in the expansion draft lol. Why la didn't protect him I donno. Pending UFA perhaps. He is my leading scorer through 3 games with 4 goals. He plays on my top line alongside Mikael Granlund and Pavel buchnevich. Fun facts lol. I find it weird having a new Canuck on my squad. I definitely like what he brings those to my club. I need to play more of my NHL 20 franchise mode so I enjoy his play lol. I've played one game in like a month lol. I played all the pre season games maybe why.

Jim Benning Press Conference [Toffoli add, Boeser, Levio injuries]

Sounds like we might move some lesser prospects out to fill out holes. He mentioned macewan may get sent down will see what happens at the tdl. so imo that implies we may want another bottom 6 guy or depth forward. probably someone with grit and physicality. Maybe someone who can fill in for Ferlands role. -
- Toffoli Add. - Boeser / Leivo Injuries. I found this the most intriguing quote. Sounds like we might replace some of our middle range veterans over the next few years. I heard that was Jim's plan but this is pretty impressive if he's expecting 7 new players over the next 2-3 years!

Silfverberg is on the block - Looking for a less impactful forward but on a playoff team. Open to a straight swap for a lesser player on a guaranteed playoff team. Silfverberg has salary retention over the next 2 years bringing his salary down to 4M per. -

I would like to step down as GM of the Pens. To much on the go these days. Was fun wheeling and dealing. The next GM of the Pens will have a good cupboard of youth! We are very pleased with the additions we made. Sorry folks, Happy we could recoup a first for this year which we previously did not have.
