  1. So now I heard the full clip let me out this quote into context. He stated this is not from knowledge he has but rather by his opinion. He doesn't see a way he does not make Sweden's team. Positive words from Ryan Johnson though for sure.
  2. Johnson's interview posted on the Utica Comets thread. No point pasting it all over the forums.

  5. Oh what a good comparison! Maroon looked slow last night let's hope he's a faster maroon lol. They had him on Hall and Heishiers line. Maybe that's why he looked slow hahha
  6. Do you have the audio link handy?
  7. Sounds like from Johnson GM of Utica wants to keep the whole team engaged. He wants the kids to earn it and he wants to keep his AHL crew that got them into the post season feeling valued and part of Uticas future. There is a chance we may see a Lind, Dahlen, Gadjovich, or Jasek sit at some point. So this will be a true test for this team. They got a tricky situation to try and sort out. I suspect Lind sits game one and Dahlen may get pulled at one point too if he isn't contributing. Jasek seems like a big part of their team as he brings elements and speed they have been missing. I'm curious to see how this all works out. As excited as I am for our forwards Lind, Dahlen, Jasek I am equally excited about the development of Ashton Sautner, Breezer, and Chatfield. Not to mention senior Demko. :D
  8. Johnson GM of Utica believes Elias Pettersson is likely a lock for team Sweden at the world championships. That is a great sign for him and our club. Being able to match up against some of the world's best will be a true eye opener.
  9. I agree it would be valuable. He's played a few seasons on the NHL surface so I can imagine playing on an international ice surface vs NHL all-star caliber players will be just as valuable. If not more being around legit veteran superstars. Let's face it we don't have any of those left.
  10. Johnson said yesterday it looks like Elias Pettersson is likely a lock for team Sweden. He was unsure of Olli Juolevi and said we would have to wait and see. So I guess that is what we need to do. Or we can speculate for the next week. I'm sure I'll do that too.
  11. Potentially sore/battling injury or may want confirmation on world championships before flying to North America. Its been a lengthy season and the world championships are in Europe. Prob wants to rest and avoid a flight to North America if he isn't going to for sure play there. That is just my speculation though.
  12. Words from Jonah our prophet
  13. Game today yeah??? Is it game day? Yeah folks.. it's Game Day!!!! Let's go Vaxjo!! Let's go Pettersson!! Go Vaxjo Go!
  14. Olli could of probably jumped into the NHL the year after the draft. But our management wanted to let him over develop elsewhere and become a heavier player. He just wouldn't have been physical and could be hurt easier. I prefer letting him develop but u can tell the additional weight has taken time to adjust too. He can do a lot more physically now and has really developed his all around game. Once he gets to the NHL, AHL, or world championships level he will learn where to use his quickness and if he needs to speed up. Perhaps his agility is slightly hampered by the weight? it's hard to say without seeing him over here on NA ice surface where he played in jr.
  15. I'm gonna laugh when Olli is the better all around d man then Sergachev in 2-3 years. Serg was NHL ready in terms of size. Had great skating and offensive instincts. I suspect Olli will be the more complete player. I like to think of serg as like a Streit type player. Offensively talented and ok defensively. Olli is more of a complete package who's offense continues to steadily rise. Not that his offense was ever bad to start with lol. Olli sees the game offensive and defensive on an entirely other level. His hockey smarts, poise, and terrific 17 year old WJC performance were major reasons we took him. Steady, smooth, effective, and an impactful player when you need it the most. His shot isn't half bad either. Probably has a better shot from the point then most if not all of our current D.
  16. He has a bronze medal game on the 20th. After that he likely goes to the world championships or Utica.
  17. Latest from Jonathan D Good to hear he wants have a good Summer and earn it!
  18. Yeah big times ahead. If EP can arrive on the scene in a big way and be as clutch and impactful as he has in Sweden. Man we could be a playoff team if we have decent goaltending. I'm suspecting Pettersson matches one of the twins point totals. Add in a free agent scorer like Kane + the arrival of new kids + development of current young guys. We might actually be something. Imagine a healthy Gudbranson and Tanev for a full season. We might be one of these NJ, COL, or PHI teams. Our goal should be to be as deep as Columbus in two or three seasons.
  19. Here's the second half to post above
  20. Am I watching the movie Goons or something lol. What an effort by Elias to gain the zone and dish it off.
