Congrats to Ben McCartney on making his NHL debut! We traded Ben in a package to acquire Jack Hughes from SJ this past fall. McCartney was selected 78th Overall in the 3rd round of the 2021 Entry Draft by the NJ Devils. He is the first player I have drafted in FL to suit up for his first NHL game. Look forward to many more! Wish him nothing but the best in San Jose! He is a hard worker and a very dedicated athlete!

A little shoutout to our rookies who have made some nice progress with some nhl action this season! Vasili Podkolzin - RW Vancouver Canucks ~! We have been fans of Podkolzin since his draft year. We actually had him ranked 7th on our draft when many publications had him much later in the teens. We are thrilled we were able to acquire Podz thanks @Nail for allowing us to acquire him. He has been off to a very steady start with limited minutes and opportunity. Tonight we may see him for the first time on Vancouver's PP. I am very thrilled with his progression thus far this season! Al though his limited ice time was a bit concerning to start the year he seems to be improving each night out so we are thrilled he is learning the ways of the NHL this season. Lucas Raymond - RW/LW Detroit Red Wings ~! We were absolutely thrilled when we were fortunate enough to selected Lucas 5th in the 2020 Puck League Draft. It was a very exciting time for our franchise and fanbase. Our fans have endured many poor years with little to no result reasons for excitement. Raymond is part of that wave of prospects that is starting to trickle its way into the NHL for our organization. We are thrilled he has been given such prime opportunity in Detroit and are optimistic he will continue to develop into a very competent offensive threat. A lot of his early season success should be attributed to the great play of his linemates. Hendrix Lapierre - C Washington Capitals ~! We were beyond excited to select Hendrix 25th Overall in the 2020 Draft. So many teams had casted doubt on his future because of what many believed were concussion related injuries affecting his draft season. We knew however from the research we had done that it was in fact an issue with his neck that was causing the symptoms that many thought were related to head trauma. Hendrix went back to the Q last season and played admirably. This season he earned a spot on the Capitals opening night line up due to the absence of Nicklas Backstrom. Hendrix went on to score his first game earlier this season! A special shoutout to other rookies who are expected to make their NHL debuts' either later this season or next year! (Spoilered it so I'm not taking up your whole screen with my own hype and excitement post) **Quinn, Askarov, Power in spoiler**

Untouchables at this time in STL. This list could change but these are guys we wan't to hang on to for the next few seasons to see how they pan out. Anyone who isn't on this list is considered potentially available. Some may come cheap others at a much higher valuation depending on each player. PROTECTED LIST STL LW C RW Brady Tkachuk Hendrix Lapierre Lucas Raymond Fyodor Svechkov Francesco Pinelli Jack Quinn Tyler Motte Ryder Korczak Vasili Podkolzin Kirill Tyutyayev Landon Slaggert Brett Leason LD RD Thomas Chabot Rasmus Ristolainen Owen Power Erik Brannstrom Nolan Allan Cale Fleury Kirill Kirsanov Dmitri Kostenko Yaroslav Askarov Kaapo Kahkonen Arturs Silovs Players above. Do not bother asking on. Everyone else though is considerable available. Notable omissions from the above protected lists include Fabian Lysell, Theodor Niederbach, Linus Karlsson, Red Savage, Brent Johnson, Joel Teasdale, and Artur Akhtyamov among others. We are not actively trying to trade these players - but if we are offered the right piece for our nhl roster for next season or the right draft pick selection we would consider their moves. Overall we are very happy with our depth but there is always room for improvement. At the NHL level we have Sonny Milano, Drake Caggiula, Dennis Cholowski, Slater Koekkoek, Colin White, Brendan Smith, and Eric Comrie all easily movable for the right return. hit me up if you wish to chat. :D I am on discord often and can be reached on cdc regularly.

Sad to see Patrick go. Especially after we paid so much to acquire him. Unfortunately our need for picks and his recent absence made us pause and reflect. We opted to instead load up on some picks and pick up a quality depth defenseman. We wish Patrick well and fully expect him to develop into an every day middle six center. Best of luck in PHI and Vegas! Welcome Slater to the Blues!! You will be a welcomed addition.

I'm only half paying attention until either green is gone or they start winning some games. -
come get some! You have to catch up first tho!
-
Sorry you came up short in the 15 points cluster Maybe if you take CBJ out and go the other way it fits more teams?
-
15 points seperating six teams in the east near the wild card slots. Gheez lol. This is gonna be a tight race. I look forward to the challenge.
-
@HighOnHockey thanks for your work during your tenure. Wish you well moving forward. Its unfortunate you choose to go the route you did. Discrimination of any kind isnt something we tolerate. We wish you well in other leagues. thanks for your contributions to the Rangers org.

Center Jack Eichel We are thrilled to officially announce an operating room for Jack has been scheduled. We were thrilled to acquire Jack four weeks ago and it has been a challenging but rewarding wait. As I have been dealing with health issues of my own. It appears I have been cleared to return to work in 2 weeks time and Jack is getting his long overdue surgery! We made a few moves which lead us eventually to the acquisition of Jack Eichel. Moves that were independent but remarkably opened up the opportunity and cap space to acquire him. We were going to do a detailed press conference upon acquiring him but we really didn't have the full details of his situation. To CBJ: Jack Eichel Kyle Turris Filip Berglund Brennan Othmann STL 2022 1st Round Draft Selection Conditional 2022 4th Round Draft Selection Out of CBJ: Pierre-Luc Dubois Samuel Girard ($1 million retained by CBJ for 2021-22) Antoine Roussel Ryan Hartman Johan Larsson Serron Noel Connor Bunnaman Conditional Pick (4th Round Pick) Our former team captain Pierre-Luc Dubois was moved out west to the St Louis Blues. A move that saddened many fans as they saw their team's captain and longest serving Jackets teammate depart. Dubois has started off strong in STL 11 points in 9 NHL games. The Blues have greatly benefited as they sit 7th in the GML with the arrivals of Dubois and some of its young talent in Lundell and Seider. Sam Girard was a extremely highly regarded member of the Jackets blueline. Their clear #2 defenseman - unfortunately to pry Eichel free of the Carolina Hurricanes grip we were forced to move the amazingly skilled young Sam Girard who had a major breakout season last year. Girard was on arguably one of the best contracts league wide for any defenseman. The addition of Kyle Turris was to hope to bring some leadership to the club. He has paid off in his off ice contributions but his on ice play has been lackluster to start. We are thrilled to add a high end prospect like Brennan Othmann. A player we believe could be a useful top 6 forward in a couple years time. We had hoped the STL pick would be in the lottery conversation but its clear the Blues have other plans! Kudos to @Devron44 on taking such a bold risk and having such a talented young team. We hope our high risk move acquiring Eichel has similar effects on our franchise moving forward! The Jackets have offered a long year extension to winger Kirill Kaprizov - they remain hopeful the two sides can come to an agreement. The team acquired Eichel to give Kirill a high end center to play with. With Dubois' departure however the team is currently captainless. The team plans to roll with 3 A's in the interim until we have an idea of who steps up in the locker room. Thanks to all the teams involved! IT took 5 teams to make these deals come to fruition.

Very pleased to see Jack finally get moved IRL. It has been a bit of a long couple of days with his name trending on twitter constantly. I knew that might be the case though when we acquired Jack on Oct 7th, 2021 just shy of 4 weeks ago. It is a relieving feeling knowing such a talented hockey player can hopefully soon return to the game of hockey that he dearly loves. The whole situation in Buffalo from the start was a mess. I can't believe they had mcdavid billboards up in Buffalo prior to the draft lottery Lol. On that note though we are thrilled Jack has found a new home and we look forward to seeing him return to the ice in the next 3-5 months if all goes well. He will certainly missed by Team USA this coming olympics but that is how things shaped out. I appreciate them getting the deal done today - I had been constantly refreshing twitter for the last 3 days so its nice knowing I no longer need to check that lol. (I'm sure ill be checking daily for updates on his operation date but hey :D soon enough) Eichel had a 1 on 1 interview (it appears post trade) that will be airing in its entirety at 2pm PST on Tim and Friends! I would recommend catching it if you have the time to do so! We wish Jack well and a speedy recovery!

Rumours has it the Eichel trade is on the 1 yard line... lets go baby! Thanks for the update @Crabby - nice to see our team battling it out without their top C!

ASSIGNMENT: NJ assigns Mikhail Maltsev to the Utica Comets. It appears he got demoted since going to Colorado..

That NMC also plays a big factor. NMC are very restricting. Pretty fair value imo. Good work by the agent team!

NJ's Upcoming Expiring Contracts: UFA's: Forwards (8F) Andrew Cogliano (34) Derick Brassard (34) Oskar Sundqvist (27) Tyler Ennis (32) Sam Lafferty (26) Brandon Sutter (32) Mark Jankowski (27) Kurtis Gabriel (28) Defense (5D) David Savard (31) Marc Staal (34) Jon Merrill (29) Christian Wolanin (26) Joel Hanley (30) Goaltenders (1G) Thomas Greiss (35) RFA's: (4) Jack Hughes (20) Artem Zub (26) Nikolai Knyzhov (23) Nick Caamano (22) We have a lot of expiring contracts coming off the books next season. We will have 9 current roster players on either the active roster or IR. This will provide us maximum flexibility but may also create a bit of a chaotic summer lol. 2 of those 9 signed players may also be trade considerations for us closer to the trade deadline. We will likely look to re-sign several players for next season but next season will be the year of youth for NJ. Any young player who earns a roster spot will be given one. We will consider offers on all pending UFA's and plan accordingly if it makes sense.

WAIVERS: NJ waives Sven Baertschi with the intention of assigning him to the minors. should be roster compliant.

Age of players within the Columbus Blue Jackets system. Figured I hadn't done one of these in a while. Last time we did we had a lot of players in the 26-30 age range. The team has become much younger since that time. Our NHL's squads average age is 25.5.(AHL average age is 20.23). These numbers are not important but fun to calculate! NHL Pavel Buchnevich (26) Jack Eichel (25) Kirill Kaprizov (24) Jesperi Kotkaniemi (21) Dylan Cozens (20) Lucas Raymond (19) Andrew Mangiapane (25) Dawson Mercer (20) Tage Thompson (24) Zemgus Girgensons (27) Kevin Rooney (28) Sean Kuraly (28) Kyle Turris (32) Corey Perry (36) Thomas Chabot (24) Oliver Ekman-Larsson (30) Travis Sanheim (24) Mikey Anderson (22) Riley Stillman (23) Matt Roy (26) Mackenzie Blackwood (24) Jonathan Bernier (33) AHL Ivan Morozov (21) Ryan Suzuki (20) Filip Hallander (21) Brennan Othmann (18) Joey Anderson (23) Isak Rosen (18) Samuel Helenius (18) Simon Edvinsson (18) Filip Berglund (24) Kaiden Guhle (19) Anton Olsson (18) Michael DiPietro (22) Ilya Konovalov (23) Kudos to 2021 drafted defenseman Simon Edvinsson on a strong start to his SHL campaign. The youngster has 9 pts in 16 SHL games a torrid pace for the youngster. Kaiden Guhle is also off a steady start in the WHL netting 8 points in 7 games. Brennan Othmann is also off to a hot start with 8 points in 6 games in the WHL. Anton Olsson is off to a bit of a slower start with 4 points in 12 SHL games. Definitely not a bad pace though for the 18 year old. Isak Rosen has 4 points in 15 SHL games thus far as well! Kaiden Guhle is rumoured to be a captain consideration for Team Canada at the 2022 WJC's. It's early yet but who knows.
