  1. ^^^ And also let's not forget Valeri got a special someone named Roberto "My Contract Sucks" Luongo pulled with the help of his Stars of course http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HALGTrl-HQo
  2. Would anyone have picked Valeri Nichushkin (10th overall pick) instead of Bo Horvat? After seeing him put up 30 points in his first NHL season with the Dallas Stars and playing on the first line with Seguin making it obvious that the Stars believed he was NHL ready and make a difference right away to the club.
  3. For any wanting to see Ryan Miller in a shootout with the Sabres: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM6WjjYE9ZY (oops posted it twice my bad!) Enjoy!!!
  4. I watched some highlights he's decent. And we're not the NJ Devils so that shouldn't be a problem right? Here's one to watch if anyone's interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM6WjjYE9ZY Enjoy!!!
  5. I really doubt any team does that dude, even if you're as bad as the Buffalo Sabres... the goal is to make the playoffs and take it from there because anything can happen once you're in. And if that was the case we'd just ask the Sedins to waive their no trade clauses and tell them we are tanking so there's no point in them sticking around. Conclusion : It just does not work like that in the NHL. Cheers bro
  6. If we get Iginla just please don't pair him with the Sedins on the first line. They need youth around them (probably the only thing that I agreed with when Torts was here and even said when he left- Inject the youth in this club) and a young winger like Jensen or Kassian really helps. Or even maybe if things are really critical split them: Sedin-Stastny-Kassian- If Daniel gets on top of his game again, this could be a dangerous line Burrows-Sedin-Jensen- They were good as a 1st line now imagine them to be ever better as a second line facing second liners OR Sedin-Sedin-Jensen- Only if twins play well together like in the past and Jensen is ready to take such a big role Burrows-Stastny-Kassian Don't really know where Iginla would fit in with this club, spending the extra dollars on a younger more reliable piece like Paul Stastny makes much more sense.
  7. Even Vancouver wouldn't let him sign a contract for that cheap just to not make the organization look bad. He's worth a 4 million a year (for about 2 years) and that's fair, no more no less.
  8. Lol if it is indeed 5-6 years then ya might as well bring back Luongo
  9. Fans will also have to learn to live with Benning being high on goaltending kind of guy. He even said after drafting Demko that he believes you can "never get enough" of this position because it's so important for a teams success.
  10. Folks at team 1040 say sounds like Miller will sign here just a matter of time.
  11. Lack did also have hip surgery a little while ago so extra load probably doesn't help I believe he should be limited to 35ish to upto 40 games a season which is still a lot... half pretty much. That way he won't have no problems in the future, in his veteran years.
  12. I got scouted and invited to their camp, almost made it too but ended up being 2nd last cut. Particularly due to my height only being 5'4 then, now one year later I'm 5'5. Plan on trying out again or playing for the UBC Thunderbirds.
  13. Now the Garrison to TB sounds like a dream deal come true.
  14. Relax, he's a Olympic goalie with 2-3 more good years left in him... same as Lu. And I'm not ever a Miller fan, I'd much rather see Hiller.
  15. Spoiler Alert: If we manage to pick up a 2/C, solid Defenseman and a decent veteran goalie all via free agency I believe you can start calling the Canucks La Coupe Stanley Champions. You're Welcome.
  16. My initial reaction was no effin way. I'd love to have hoff back
  17. "Plain and simple, a team that drafts Thatcher Demko is going to get a solid goaltender who can carry a team and help them win. It’s hard to overstate or understate what a goaltender will bring to a team. Surround them with the right defence and a solid coach and magic can happen. As an 18 year-old goaltender, Demko has drown comparisons to the likes of Cory Schneider, Jimmy Howard and Joe Cannata. While comparisons are fine and dandy, goaltenders have a lot to prove. Demko won’t be leave Boston College anytime soon and will need at least another 3-4 season’s before it’s NHL time. Thatcher Demko can easily become the anchor or cornerstone of a team needing a franchise goaltender. Give him the time he needs to develop and he won’t let you down." Just thought I should share this from my other post now that it's locked just for anyone who didn't get a chance to read it. Cheers
  18. I believe it said 6'6 on one website, but either way he's massive.
  19. Man I really don't want any deal including Hunter involved... Just have this crazy feeling thinking he's going to be the next Patrick Kane for us.***Again not saying he is going to be Kane just this buzz in my head.
  20. 1) Brendan Lemieux (Left Wing) "Brendan Lemieux is a rising prospect for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and he`s being considered a potential late first round selection. The son of former NHL antagonist Claude Lemieux, Brendan competes in a similar skilled yet gritty mold often getting under the skin of opponents." IMO he'd be a steal at 36th although some could argue that I'm sure, sources say he'd be a perfect fit in Colorado though and they'll take him in the 1st round. 2) Thatcher Demko (Goaltender) "The top ranked North American goaltender by NHL Central Scouting is Boston College’s Thatcher Demko. Hailing from sunny California, Demko has quickly become a goaltender to watch with his idealistic size, smooth mobility and flair for stepping up in big games." Also projected to be a 1st rounder or perhaps a very early pick in the 2nd round. If Brendan is unavailable/already picked Demko is my pick at 36th whether there's need or not for a goaltending prospect just due to his high potential and of course some shades of Cory Schneider which is a bonus I guess. 3) John Quenville (Center) " Quenneville uses his big frame and his strength effectively in protecting the puck and playing a physical game. Perhaps his best assets are his puck skills, his offensive acumen, and his work ethic. He has the skill to control the puck in the offensive zone, and distribute the puck quickly and effectively, and also boasts a good shot." Some would put him at number one out of my 3 that I chose but I even doubt he'll be available at this point and see him as most unlikely to drop to the 2nd round so I'm not really counting on it. Although if he's available at 36th it would be foolish to pass on him because I see him as player that's comparable to Jason Pominville of the Minnesota Wild. Just my two cents
  21. Hiller would be better honestly. But for some crazy reason I just don't think he'll sign here for some reason or thrive in this market. Miller though well he's just Miller... Good goalie but not a playoff kinda guy and honestly even Lu was much better than Miller when it came to playoffs, and even he was known for not getting it done in the playoffs... Sorry Lu fans just my honest opinion.
