  1. If we're in the 12-15 range I hope we take a strong look at Helge Grans and Jack Quinn.
  2. Wow tough loss for the Flames. 42 - 21 shots for in their favour.
  3. It's going to be a fantastic race this year, Edmonton is currently stomping the Coyotes and might tie Calgary for first temporarily depending on how the Flames fair in their game right now!
  4. Just to elaborate further, you can use that ageVariable in conjunction with an 'if' statement to do your math based on the answer you get. Not savvy with Python syntax but essentially, If (ageVariable < 40) { // do math }
  5. I hope he does swing at someone with his stick. The moment players go full vigilante is the moment the DOPS will have no choice but to start taking cheapshots seriously. Jake was definitely out of line with that hit.
  6. Hard to explain, but when I watch him it looks like his stickhandling is batting the puck back and forth as opposed to corralling it on his blade.
  7. Whenever I watch this kid stick handle it looks like he's been given a wooden stick with a flat blade. It's so unorthodox in this day in age.
  8. The Tyler Myers hype train didn't last very long. That contract though, woof.

@Tystick my thoughts exactly, if he watched Tanev and would make the simple play and contain things he would probably be less error-prone.  Awful seeing him whiff on pucks and get beat when he could've simply made the simple calm maneuvers.  Maybe it's just not his kind of play though.

I think he will find his style. IMO, he's fully capable, just makes too many aggressive plays.

Seems like he wants to do it all, but sometimes less is more.

He's been this way since his 2nd year with the Sabres.  Sometimes he's good, other times you want to facepalm while watching him.

I still have hope Edler and the coaches will help make him more consistent.

  9. We're going to need studs on ELC's to withstand this garbage cap situation Benning put us in moving forward. We can't be trading them away.
  10. If we can get a #1 RHD at a similar age I think we should do it too.
  11. Guessing the scorekeeping is wrong here. https://www.tsn.ca/world-juniors/event?global_id=2197151&event_id=132382
  12. This year's been this weird steady trajectory of improvement in his game. It's like he had an ephinany regarding all things he should have been working on over the past few years. It's funny because he's on pace for 20 goals and I still find myself frustrated at his lack of finish. If he can put some work into that next offseason he's going to be a weapon.
  13. The Flames are a new team after the Peter's firing. Hope the boys win but after yesterday's effort I'm worried this might get ugly.
  14. Zegras should have been a Canuck, what a farce. Hope Benning genuinely exhausted his options to move up.

I like Zegras too for his hockey IQ, but a few things that Podkolzin has is that he has pest potential - high motor, physical. He reminds me of Matthew Tkachuk and Brendan Gallagher somehow, and I think that's what we need in a top 6 role.

He's basically Tkachuk without the character issues.

@King Heffy M Tkachuk produces lots of points :)

  15. Praying for a Bruins - Capital's matchup now. What a gnarly game.

  16. Shut him down for the season. Health comes first.
  17. Underrated disappointment tonight was Virtanen. With his tools and skillset he should have been able to make mince meat of that horrible Leafs defense. Instead he just coasted as usual watching Roussel and Gaudette do all the heavy lifting. It sucks that even when you surround him with key examples of how he should be playing he still chooses to take a backseat.
  18. Between Petey, Brock and Horvat it looks like our big boys lost their scoring touch somewhere in the summer. Those kids were money last year on top shelf shots. Hopefully it's just a confidence issue.
  19. What I gather from the brief summary of your relationship is that this aspect of her is the only real draining portion of your relationship, in which case I'd definitely advise you to at least take some serious steps towards trying to remedy the situation before you break up with her. Now, this isn't about reassuring her or making her feel good about herself to try and somehow goodwill her into being a more confident and assertive person. It's a big personality change that she needs to make in the way she approaches and treats other people. She needs to not only be willing to make this change but hold herself accountable for being the primary catalyst in changing. None of this should be on you because you won't be there to oversee every social interaction she has. It's hard to quantify changes like this so if you're up to it one suggestion I might have is to start bullet journalling together. It was one of ways I personally held myself accountable for making changes in my life that I believe helped me grow as person. Each day/week you can talk about your successes and failures in regards to the personal goals you set and it'll help keep you in the loop with her progress without having you take responsibility for her changes. Anyways, this was just my take on the matter. It's entirely understandable if you break up with her over not wanting to change because of the 'doormat' situation. That's a mentally exhausting thing to deal with as a partner and you'd probably grow resentful after a while because of it. All the best.
