  1. Finding a suitable trade partner for Miller should be this team’s first priority.
  2. Very sad at this Horvat news. We've had plenty of “heart and soul” / “meat and potatoes” guys on this team, but few who were genuinely good hockey players. And a leader to boot. And to think we’re trading him away for a retool on the fly just so Aquillini can keep his dream alive of his dad watching the Canucks win a cup, a strategy that has proven to not work.
  3. I feel Boeser will be one of those players who re-finds his game after a trade. Also not a fan of trading players when their value is at an all time low.
  4. Last time we drafted with that rationale we picked Juolevi. Using a first round pick on a safe player + on positional need is a recipe for mediocrity.
  5. Regardless of how this guy turns out, you go for speed and skill when drafting. If you go for size, you end up picking the Nick Ritchies and Jake Virtanens of the league who found it easy to play against kids half their size in the minors. Picking based on position and not BPA is also a recipe for failure.
  6. I said Miller was playing for his payday, you illiterate dweeb. No matter. Time will tell if Miller was playing to cash in. Just promise me you won’t leave with your tail between your legs like your friend OldNews did if you get it wrong.
  7. Because playing for your payday is only limited to the absolute last year of your contract. lmao. BarnBurner with another hot take.
  8. The lack of reading comprehension is off the charts at CDC today! No one said Miller is a bad player. But there’s a difference between playing for the payday of your career and playing post-payday.
  9. I like how you conveniently ignored the point about contractual differences between last year and this one.
  10. We need to stop the habit of blindly defending players. That’s never helped. Miller was playing for his payday last year. Not the case anymore. I do worry about Miller keeping up last year’s intensity when he’s not playing for himself anymore
  11. They're like a 15 minute metro ride away lol. That's like going to New York to scout the Giants.
  12. Who's he going to be a dirt ball to? Grown ass NHL men? This kid got away with an undeserved second chance.
  13. I'd use that wish on OEL. Take his anchor contract off the books and this team stands a chance. I don't think people realize that we have to put up with him playing like a third liner at an albatross contract until 2027. But GMJB really wanted to leave us that parting gift.
  14. Given the very racist nature of his bullying, I wouldn't be surprised - nor disappointed - if he got rocked by Evander or Simmonds.
  15. Hate to be that guy but 5 goals is unacceptable. We've no chance of making the playoffs until we fix the defense.
  16. I really hope he isn’t automatically given a spot just because he cost us something. It can’t be mentioned enough that Chatfield, a guy who was just meh with the Canucks, comfortably beat him out to a spot. Bear is not the answer to our defense problems.
  17. With Canuck luck, the guy will become another Nolan Patrick.
  18. Not sure why people are surprised Miller’s turned it down a few notches. He was literally playing for the biggest contract of his career last season. This is the problem with these moneyball signings.
  19. CDC also needs to have a conversation about the “talented” angle. I personally don’t think he was potential superstar who was set back by a mediocre mindset. His north-south tunnel vision game makes Tom Sestito look like McDavid. And being big and fast doesn’t make you special at the NHL level. I still remember Jake going coast to coast with the Hitmen, scoring goals by simply out skating everyone and thinking to myself “that crap’s not gonna fly in the big leagues”.
