  1. why would we pass on Draisatl? I know he's slow, but the Sedins are slow and they still put out a point per game plus he would be a nice player complementary player on a line with Shrinkuak and Virtanen (if we get the 10th overall pick for Ana)
  2. CDC logic the 6th overall pick has to be a allstar other wises he's a bust
  3. I though I hear Hutton was returning to the ncaa next season, is there any chance he chances his mind?
  4. Probably will be. Power forwards are a rare breed and can take years till they reach there true potential, and the chances of them busting is high due to the fact that in junior they dominated due to out weighing and "bullying" their way to the net. I haven't watch Ritchie play but from what people are saying, he sounds like he fits the mold of being a big bully IMO. edit: also one of my cousins played with beach when he was young and from what he said Beaches dad sounded like a physio and Beach was the same way.
  5. I differently think virtanen is going to be our pick if they top 5 goes as planned. He provides a low floor and a high ceiling and is the type of player the canucks need to have to compete in the pacific.
  6. One more can't hurt can it?
  7. My guess is a big two way player or an elite playmarker. Hard to say which one because of the possibility of a Kesler trade, and also the possibility of acquiring 3 first round picks at the draft.
  8. maybe Benning just wake up from a dream and knew Pittsburg was the one.
  9. Im pretty sure he's just kidding to make us all annoyed.
  10. Horvat with a penally shot…. edit: doesn't score
  11. ^Don't forget Virtanen I honestly think Detriot will probably pick up Fabbri if his available. I really want the Canucks to draft Virtanen, he's a fast, physical player, with a boomer of a shot and would probably fit well on the 2nd line even if he doesn't fully develop. At worst he's probably a 2nd/3rd twiner because he's physical enough to be a 3rd line grinder but not skilled enough (right now) to be a second liner.
  12. He is 'invisible' but its not in a bad way. Mantha seems to be very sneaky and good at picking the times he choose to stand out. Plus its not a bad quality to have considering that being "invisible" but still being about to impact a game could be a good quality because no one will pay attention to him and them boom he puts up a couple of quick goals. edit: meant to be the first quote of the above post but it didn't show up
  13. ^no he needed to play before march 21 , I think
  14. Honestly I think Horvat will start on the second line for the first couple of games(but he will be on the wing). The canucks need someone to player the "shutdown" role for Kesler and Kassian (assuming thats the second line) so they can take some chances in the offensive zone and won't get burned. I can also see Jensen on this line if he does well in the preseason. edit: If Kesler is traded i can see Horvat playing centre but on the third line. I think Mathias or Santorelli will be the second line centre
  15. ok we get it you like ehler, please stop bring up the same point every time we mention him it's getting old and your justing repeating your self .
  16. this had been said like a BILLION TIMES ALREADY
  17. don't think elder will waive his NTC but otherwise you might need to add a prospect like McEnery
  18. here a list in order i want vancouver to draft 1. Ekblad 2. Rienhart 3. Drasilti 4. Bennett 5. MDC 6. Virtanen 7. Ehlers 8. Nylander 9. Richie honestly i would rather the canucks take a "safe' pick than someone like nylander, richie, ehlers. I label these guys Boom/Bust player because they play style ( specially Richie) because lots of players with similar style are busts or they are lacking the "IT' factor. Which is basically a gut feeling but it's been right before.(I thought that that Saad, and Mantha would be a good player and that Gibson would be a NHL starter during there draft year. I have no concrete evidence to prove this but it seems to be right more than it's wrong so... edit: grammar
  19. i highly doubt the canucks will be in the top 15 (hopefully we make the playoffs) but If we aren't in a playoff spot by game 60-70 I think we should give all are young players some games, and try to get a higher draft pick
  20. completely un related but, I would think the canucks draft a centre to replace kesler (assuming he's traded) assuming this happens Van 10 overall some over players/prospects Ana Kesler 6th probably Da colle, Drisiatli, Bennett (if they drops) otherwise Ritchie or Ehlers 10th Virtanen if he's available
  21. I see virtanen as a safe pick who will become a good third liner (at least) or maybe a top 6. Right now i see that canucks prospect pools as above average, so i think they my take a bigger risk on some I.E Ehlers, Nylander,Ritchie
  22. I think calgary will take Bennett or Da Colle both are big body players who fit Trevlings mode of "big body" players, plus the need a number 1/2 centre or top 6 winger to go with Monahan. I see Richie to a team doesn't need him to make a impact right away
  23. does anyone else here thing that Faila will be drafted in the top10? he seems to be having a good iihf world championships and his stock has been on the rise for the last month or so.
  24. ho sang will definitly fall because of that 15 game suspension he receive in the playoffs because it proves the report about him having a crappy attitude weren't just reports
