  1. Smaller sample size this year but his work in the WHL this year was elite and I think could become an top line scoring winger. Kinda reminds me of Filip Forsberg.
  2. But makes up with it with world class positioning, reflexes, and spacial awareness. Easily the most technical sound goalie prospect of the last 10 years.
  3. In my opinion it is William Eklund, he is very underrated from what ive seen due to size concerns but is putting up Nicklas Backstrom like stats is the SHL in his draft year.
  4. He did make the transfer from center to wing in college, which I think he is better suited for especially at the NHL level. He has a similar frame to Petey though and if he could fill it out, it would only help him win more battles.
  5. Not sure I agree on the hockey sense, his offensive ability is off the charts. He put up 2.0 pts/game at the BCHL level in his draft-1 year which even puts BCHL stars like Newhook and Turris to shame. Then put up 1.0 pts/game in the NCAA in his draft year. It is impossible to put up these types of numbers and have a low hockey sense.
  6. Likely we walk away with one of these three: Kent Johnson, Dylan Guenther, or Mason McTavish.
  7. I wonder if Toronto would trade Marner for Carey Price right now
  8. Yeah I think For Detroit and San Jose they are not far along enough to not take BPA. But at the Same time that might be Wallstedt might be BPA on their list and Yzerman isnt afraid to take chances. Going to be a fun draft with a few suprises hopefully.
  9. I'm hoping some one in front of us takes Wallstedt, but looking at the depth charts of the three teams ahead of us. Both Detroit and San Jose have tons of holes still and LA needs D prospects pretty bad.
  10. My wishlist in order: Powers ------------------ Clarke Beniers Hughes Eklund ------------------- Johnson Edvinsson Guenther McTavish
  11. McTavish has been one of the biggest risers in this draft though. In the past some players that were the biggest risers were guys like Seider and Heiskanen.
  12. I believe the following players are in Bennings "top 9" Powers Beniers Hughes Clarke Eklund Johnson Guenther Edvinsson McTavish
  13. He strength is probably his best asset and he does like to lay the body. At the same time, like with most young players you want to see him use it more and learn to pick his spots so he is not caught out of position. If he catches you you are going to feel it.
  14. Pronger is one of the GOAT's, Power could be the closest thing in a while. Guys like Pronger and Hedman who can log 25-30 mins a night are in my opinion more valuable than a McDavid. Example the year Hedman was hurt and the Lightning got swept by Columbus.
  15. He was probably up all night thinking of ways to screw us.
  16. First overall should still be an easy pick for whoever gets it. 10 out of 10 NHL scouts that Bob Mckenzie used had Power going 1st overall. 2nd OV is a lot harder selection imo.
  17. Trying to stay positive, but have had my heart broken one too many time by this lottery. Keeping expectations real low for this one.
  18. Might as well wait one more year, we have suffered this long already. No need to give up assets.
  19. Yeah Power is the real deal, If a team passes him up at 1st Overall i think they will regret it.
  20. Just shows how highly regarded Wallstedt is as a goalie, most rankings(10 of 13) have him as a top 10 pick. He was also the youngest player to ever play in Sweden's under 20 league, previous record holder Victor Hedman.
  21. We can always trade a goalie, how do you think we got our captain Horvat? If they see Wallstedt as the best goalie prospect of the last decade ala Price and we are sitting in the 10th spot, take BPA no exception. One scout had him ranked as high as 1st overall, from what I've heard.
  22. Easier to trade for a skilled winger than a franchise goalie, I would only take Wallstedt if we are picking 9 or 10th and guys like Eklund are off the table.
