NHL Central Scouting Final 2021 Rankings
Bure_Pavel replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in General Hockey Discussion
I have Sillinger the next tier down from McTavish and Guether, to me he doesn't have the same game breaking ability. I couldn't find one creditable ranking that has him in the top 10 either. I have him in the 11-15 tiers with guys like: Lucius Sillinger Lysell Ceulemans Raty -

Yeah worth the risk for a Vezina caliber goaltender. Tiers 1: Power Beniers Clarke Hughes Eklund 2: Edvinsson Johnson McTavish Guenther Wallstedt -
Yeah seems like this is going to be a way bigger thing than it should, I still remember voting in my yearbook questionaire and trying to come up with joke answers. Just poor taste in humor.

Couldn't the remedy just be cut out the section of the book or page he put that? Maybe the kid is a history buff i'm sure it is actually an interesting insight into one of the most evil men on the planet. Most likely just a high school kid trying to be funny though. I will admit the documentary I watched on Hitler was very interesting, the man almost took over the world.

Really hope we dont drop to 10, I think there is drop of after 9 not including goalies. If we drop to 10 and the top 9 are gone, grab Wallstedt. -
Yeah we definitley need some Tanevs and Hamonics to complete the D-Core, Ideally we get another stud 2 way Dman that can crunch 25 mins a night and do it all.
-
I think both Rathbone and Hughes are better PP QB's then Juolevi, so someone would have to play their offside. Trent Cull complimented Rathbone's ability to walk the line on the powerplay, thinks hes one of the best in the league (AHL). Right now they are similar caliber of player but Rathbone has looked more dynamic offensively from the small sample size and trending better developmentally.
-
If we keep both I think Juolevi likely fills the third pairing role while logging lots of minutes on the PK which is still valuable. I still stick to my original point that you should take BPA when drafting in top 10, as there is a decent chance to grab a perennial All-star.
-
Just performance and general opinions of most people I've spoken too. Majority think Rathbone has passed Juolevi as a prospect. If you could only protect one would you let Rathbone walk?
-
I would avoid drafting for need in the top 10, example Juolevi. We needed a puck moving left D when we drafted him, now he is likely a third pairing guy behind Rathbone and Hughes. We were gifted Tkatchup at 5 and instead left him for the Flames.

My only problem with a McTavish, Boeser, Petey line is that they all have elite shots. While three snipers per line would be fun, might be worthwhile to spread the wealth. Maybe McTavish - Petey - Podkolzin Hoglander - Horvat - Boeser
-
The biggest wild card in this draft for me is Chaz Lucius. Could be a major steal for someone if he pans out.
-
For me its Power all the way. I think he becomes a true #1 Dman, plus his name is Power.
-
If Johnson is available I think that would be an excellent pick, skill is off the chart could end up being the best offensive player in the draft.

[Report] Canucks sign Travis Green to contract extension

This might be a stupid question, but can seem to find how many years he got through skimming? Anyone know off the top of their head? -
Nice try you snake in the grass, I would rather never hoist the cup then cheers for the Leafs to win it.

Sitting in a really good spot this draft, I would be happy selecting any of these 10: Matthew Beniers, C/W, Michigan Wolverines (NCAA) Owen Power, LHD, Michigan Wolverines (NCAA) William Eklund, C/W, Djurgårdens IF (SHL) Dylan Guenther, C/W, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) Brandt Clarke, RHD, HC Nove Zamky (Slovakia) – on loan from Barrie Colts (OHL) Luke Hughes, LHD, USNTDP Juniors (USHL) Simon Edvinsson, LHD, Frölunda HC (SHL) Kent Johnson, C, Michigan Wolverines (NCAA) Jesper Wallstedt, G, Luleå HF (SHL) Mason McTavish, C, EHC Olten (SL) – on loan from Peterborough Petes (OHL) Honorable mention: Lysell, Lucius, Sillinger, Ceulemans

A lot of Mock drafts have us picking Fabian Lysell. While I wouldnt be upset if they picked him, need wise he doesnt fit the bill at all unless we trade Boeser or Podkolzin. The people who are high of Lysell are very high on him, skill and skating seem to be elite, but size and positional need are red flags. Future top seven + top 4: ? - Petey - Boeser Hoglander - Horvat - Podkolzin 3rd line center? Hughes - ? ? - Schmidt We should probably draft a player that fits one of these needs unless management is confident a star is still available.
-
Its going to be a long offseason, hopefully both players put the work in and challenge for spots next year. Wont be the worst thing if they start in Utica though, although I believe both need to be protected in the ED.
-
Both players are 22 turning 23 this year.

Askarov went 11th and Knight went 13th so 9th isnt crazy. Askarov appears to be the real deal and could be a steal at 11 if reaches superstar status.
-
As crazy as it sounds, if scouts think Jesper Wallstedt is the second coming of Lundqvist I would be ok with them taking him 9th or 10th. Plus his name has "wall" in it, which opens the door for some sweet nicknames.
-
Fun fact his dad won a OHL championship on a team with Chris Pronger.
