  1. Virtanen will proabably need some money, doesnt necessarily have to be long term. He was on a show me contract and might score 20 goals with steady improvement from year to year. 20 goals should get you 3 mil at least, if his agent does his job.
  2. I think he said 7 players Im pretty sure Juolevi and Woo/Rafferty have better odds of cracking an NHL team than Lockwood and Focht
  3. I think it would be more like Marky 5-6, Tanev 5, Toffoli 5.5, Virtanen 3.5 , Gaudette 1.5, we will need to move some cap out. By my estimate Canucks needs to move out about 5 million in cap space. Either Eriksson, or Sven and another 3 million dollar player (Sutter/Roussell).
  4. He is just turning 28 in April, he should have 3-4 more years of prime hockey. Better to sign him and trade him near 1.5 years before the end of contract, he is a legit top 6 forward and imo better than Pearson.
  5. The price is steep especially if this is just a rental, but Toffoli is a really good goal scorer coming off a couple under performing years. I remember an interview before the season two years ago, where he said his aim was to score 40 goals that season.
  6. Yeah but without this move Canucks probably miss the playoffs due to injuries and fatigue, they really want to give the kids some playoff experience.
  7. The big thing is going to be trying to sign Toffoli, Tanev, and Markstrom with our cap crunch next year. If Benning can sign all for good cap hits and clear Eriksson then we are sitting pretty.
  8. Yeah I would think they would want a proven top 6 center, probably in a 1 for 1 type of deal.
  9. Forward: Crosby Defenseman: Hedman Goalie: Rask Skater: McDavid Shot: Ovechkin Hitter: Wilson Passer: Crosby Fighter: Reaves Leader: Crosby Hands: Kane
  10. I think he flamethrowered someone not to long ago.
  11. In terms of value I would say he is definitely top 3 for backups in the NHL. Based on his age, performance, and potential.
  12. More surprising is they only had one session with a skating coach the entire year? Development of young players on your farm team is not a place you want to cheap out, especially a team that is doing well financially. I heard an interview with Ferraro, that the biggest advantage a team with deep pockets has is the ability to develop prospects by bringing in the best coaches for stuff like skills and skating on a regular basis.
  13. In an ideal world, we sign Markstrom to a reasonable cap hit and expose him in the ED, if he gets claimed we go with Demko and Dipietro for the next 4-5 years. A full summer of Demko working with Ian clark and I think I would be confortable with Demko taking over the reigns as early as next year, with bringing in a solid backup.
  14. Canucks need to sign Markstrom before the trade deadline, or they loose most of their leverage.
  15. I was wondering about Derek Grant myself as a depth option for the Canucks, but not sure Anahiem would trade him within the division for a reasonable price.
  16. Yeah it does really well, I try and avoid bullet passes as they sometimes go lower than you want due to the speed of the movement. But if you keep good form it is very accurate.
  17. I play a QB 2 minute drill game on VR that is really fun, boxing is pretty good as well.
  18. Do you know how much international students have to pay to attend university here? The US has it right, Canada is also a very desirable destination for internationals.
  19. To be fair its not like Canada doesn't have an immigration problem, most nations do. Its a major political issue for almost every country. I personally believe the best strategy is bringing in nationals from other countries on 5 year work visas, give them valuable experience and education to take back to their countries to better them, while stimulating our economy. The main problem is there are so many loop holes not a lot would leave after.
  20. No just 38% of the people who have had this coronavirus and no longer have it, it is because they died. "or recovered" is the key words there
  21. 550 people have died out of 28,000 infected = 2% compared to the approximate 0.1% of the common flu. 20 times. Take into account most of the people infected have been pretty recently and the mortality rate is likely higher than that. Whats more alarming is out of all the people who have died or recovered from the virus (1476) 38% of them have died.
  22. The main difference is that it is a least 20 times as deadly than the common flu, and remains active for a lot longer.
  23. I dont think you fully realize how contagious this thing is and how dangerous this virus is to children and the elderly. Most of the mortality rate info has come from China, as they struggle to keep their economy from tanking.
  24. Great signing, they might even be able to trade him for a second at deadline and resign him again next year.
