Other than the one clip of Yeo losing it in practice with the Wild probably paints him as a hot head, but I haven't seen any other clips of Yeo going off the deep end. If I'm a head coach and I got a half-assed effort in practice after a piss-poor game performance which is the context of Yeo doing a Torts on Hartley impersonation, I'd lose my marbles too. 10 seasons with the Pens organization (4 with the big club), 4 1/2 seasons with the Wild, 2 1/4 seasons with the Blues, 3 seasons with the Flyers suggests that Yeo's got some degree of staying power. At least does to me. One may think BB is a hothead after watching this video...caution to anyone (living under a rock) who hasn't seen this video, it's loaded with f-bombs. Not the kind of talk you'd expect from the loveable Bruce Boudreau.

Isn't 40 the new 30?

Good on you for your half marathons. I can't fathom being able to run at that pace for 400 metres. That may be too much for me. I could probably do it for 200 metres. Then pass out.

It'll take the full pre-season games of GDT for the Canucks faithful to be firing on all cylinders for opening day. So much optimism for the new season. So stoked about the group of forwards JR/Allvin have assembled in such a short time. If guys coming back are 10-15% better individually and collectively and the new signings can gel quickly, the sky's the limit for the group of 12-13. One thing for sure, we won't see Justin Dowling on the opening day roster.

Minor uniform change to stripes on pants
bigbadcanucks replied to BMorrison 7's topic in Canucks Talk
Not to mention the Orca is the apex predator in the ocean that have been known to feast on great white shark's liver and hunt with laser like precision. Your historical reference to the connection of the killer whale research to Vancouver should be enough but this inane debate of whether the killer whale represents Vancouver, BC, Pac Norwest will go on for perpetuity. -
Nice rip off of Bieksa's famous description of Chris Tanev. Is that you, Dave Pratt?

With an NTC you could still be sent to the minors. Your agent did a sh!tty job. He should have got you an NMC.

Minor uniform change to stripes on pants
bigbadcanucks replied to BMorrison 7's topic in Canucks Talk
Well...great white sharks are found aplenty in San Fran harbour (though San Jose is about 60 miles in land from San Fran)...Penguins original home was called the Igloo...Flames was a carryover from Atlanta, so no real connection to the city (though who says there has to be a connection?)...Bruins - no connection, but again, does there really need to be a connection?...Maple Leafs - "leafs" is a made up word. Should be leaves. Which is what I like best about the Leafs when they come to Vancouver. Side note and totally irrelevant to this thread: Hartford Whalers had nothing to do with whales. It was named after the World Hockey Association. WHA-lers. Original whale logo and "W, H, and whale tale" logo was simply an off shoot of the name Whalers. And Hartford wasn't Hartford to begin with...it was the New England Whalers to begin with. And Hartford played in Springfield, Mass for a couple of seasons when the roof of the Hartford Civic Convention Center came down. -
Agreed. MDP lost two seasons of development, but doesn't mean that the skills he had are lost. He had a decent season last year and probably got some good coaching from Sanford and Clarke (to a lesser degree), so he could very well be the goalie everyone thought he was going to be when he ruled the OHL. Like all things in life, MDP's place in the organization is relative to where he sits among Martin, Silovs and Delia. Right now, he looks like the odd man out, but that could change in an instant. According to Kevin Woodley, goalie guru/writer extraordinaire, he believes Delia is the prototypical Clarke student, so if MDP ever reaches the heights he was projected to achieve, it will most likely be with another organization. Or as Woodley was musing, it could be that Delia develops his game quickly under Canucks' goalie coaches and becomes a valuable trading chip. Either way, if the Canucks are going to find a new home for MDP, hopefully they can maximize MDP's value, whatever that may be.

How excited are you going to be for this season.
bigbadcanucks replied to danjr's topic in Canucks Talk
This team is unique to all other Canucks teams. Lots of questions that will be answered throughout the season...will Pettersson be competing for an Art Ross? Will Horvat emerge as a Selke candidate? Will Demko be a Vezina finalist? Will Hughes be in the Norris conversation? Will there be a Rocket Richard candidate emerging out of group of top nine? Probably the best top nine forward group the Canucks have ever assembled in its history. And I believe the defence with Hughes, OEL, Myers, Rathbone, Schenn, Dermott and Poolman as top seven will be better than what the prognosticators are saying. If the Canucks can stay healthy, then I can see them being the break out team of the year. Prediction: second round playoff exit for the Canucks this season. -
Minor uniform change to stripes on pants

Always liked the solid pants. Vertical stripe on pants when all other striping is horizontal never appealed to me. Glad and happy with the change. -
Mike Smith to start the season on LTIR? What a shocker. Could care less what it is that's ailing this guy. Could care less if this is the last we see of this guy. Actually, I hope he rehabs his rickety old body and comes back. This modern day version of the maniacal Ron Hextall will hurt the Oilers more than help, which is fine by me.

Canucks 2022 Young Stars Tourney Thread
bigbadcanucks replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
This clown^^^^talking about losers. The irony. -
At this stage, the Canucks have two legit superstars...Hughes and Demko. If Pettersson plays like he did in the final 30 games of 2021-2022 for a full 82 game schedule in 2022-23, then the Canucks can lay claim to 3. Throw in Miller, Horvat and an improved Boeser, you've got six returning Canucks that are in the tier 1 and tier 2 stars in the NHL. Pretty good foundation to build on. But a lot hinges on Pettersson taking the next step. Canucks need a 100+ point season from Pettersson. Right side or left, Hughes is already a superstar. And he's only going to get better, IMHO.

[PTO] Antoine Roussel with Philadelphia
bigbadcanucks replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If you call coming into camp with a concussion and missing the first ten games, getting 20+ secondary assists and putting together 25-30 really good games only because he was riding shot gun for Bo Horvat being full value ($3M), then I'll have to say you have pretty low standards for value. Gillis should have signed Roussel, not Benning. He would have been the perfect replacement for Burrows after Burrows fell off the cliff after the lock out season. -
Poolman looks like he could dominate Burnaby Adult Safe Hockey League Division 8.

[PTO] Alex Chiasson with Coyotes
bigbadcanucks replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Me too...thought he did the Canucks a solid down the stretch. Good veteran who has enough wisdom to know to stay in his lane and contribute when called upon. Young players could learn a thing or two from him. Would not have minded one bit if he was the Canucks 13th forward. -
Love this idea. Pick a spot along the wall and piss on it. Hopefully you've had enough beers so your python doesn't become a frightened turtle when the time comes to assume the position along the wall.

So you wanna lower yourself to the level of the senile old dude that's the mayor of Surrey? Go ahead and knock yourself out.
