What it's TRULY like to be a Canucks fan...
bigbadcanucks replied to iceman64's topic in Canucks Talk
By DePaul, you probably mean North Carolina. You know, the real school that Jordan went to. DePaul. That's just phucking phunny. -

Michael "Jordon" of DePaul Blue Demons. LMFAO. -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign Brock Boeser

Yeah, things had gone silent for the monkeys reporting. While behind the scenes, without the monkey media around, business was getting done. -
[Rumour] Poolparty wants out again
bigbadcanucks replied to The Arrogant Worms's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
You might want to dig a little into why Laine wanted out of Winnipeg. Has to do with the two douches one of which made it abundantly clear that it's all about him at the season ending presser, and the other being shopped around. And not everyone can play for Tortorella. Not even a hall of famer. -
[Rumour] Vegas shopping Nic Hague
bigbadcanucks replied to AC Readership's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
You would need to produce at a level that is commensurate with the big contract you signed last fall. So instead of the measly 68 points you provided, you'd have to deliver 120 points. That would be a good start. Do you think you got it in you to be a superstar in the NHL? -
Let's go Crazy! (Proposals) NHL-22 Style

You know what's really crazy? The OP actually put some thought into yet another inane proposal. -
Tryamkin is wondering, "why do I have Bob Sugar as an agent, when Andrey has Jerry Magguire?".

[Signing] Canucks sign Andrei Kuzmenko
bigbadcanucks replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Takes a village...not the one man banjo band that was here. The Jim Rutherford effect on display in full force. "Kuzmenko was impressed"...now it's his turn to impress JR, PA, BB and earn that multi-year multi-million dollar ELC+1 contract. Pulling for Kuzmenko to be everything that he's been advertised to be. Nice work, Jim, Patrick, Bruce and Dan (Milstein), to make this a reality. -
[Rumour] Nicklas Backstrom could be done?
bigbadcanucks replied to NucknAsia's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
A shame if Backstrom is done. Best player of his draft class. He's got 50 or so less points than Henrik Sedin in 300 or so less games. Stanley Cup winner...should be a shoe in for the HHOF. I think Backstrom will be remembered in the same realm as Henrik Zetterberg, Mats Sundin, Peter Forsberg, Kent Nillson, Niklas Lidstrom, Daniel Aflredsson, and of course, Henrik/Daniel Sedin. If Pettersson can put together a solid 82 game season for the next 10 seasons, he may have a shot a joining this elite group. -
Would you prefer $1.4M dead cap for each of 2022-23 and 2023-24 or the buy out option of $942K and $392K for 2022-23, 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2023-24, respectively? Either poison pill is fine by me. I'll put up a statue of Patrick Allvin if he can get some sucker to take Dickison for future considerations. Maybe Jim Benning gets a GM job this summer and Allvin can dump Dickison on him.
-
"Bounce back year from Dickie." That's funny. He sucks at hockey. He was terrible in Dallas and even worse here in Vancouver.
-
Though he may be a long shot, I wouldn't count Keeper out. He's got the heart of a lion. There's always room on an NHL roster for a player/person like Brady Keeper.

[Rumour] Canucks interested in Andrei Kuzmenko

I was thinking the same as I posted...thanks for bringing me back on track @stawns. Hope the Canucks can get Kuzmenko signed. A free prospect is always a welcomed addition. -

You know that Maggie T, Trudeau's mother, was a 'ho in her day, right? She's now developed dementia from all the heroin she shot up with Keith Richards while grouping it up with Mick Jagger, Ron Wood, and all the party goers at Studio 54 back in the days. -

Wut? Someone is actually taking a fact and calling it an opinion? Where am I? I thought the CDC is where opinions are considered facts and facts are considered irrelevant? Who are you @GB5? Am I in some parallel universe where up is down? black is white? right is wrong? left is right? Someone please help me come back to the real CDC!!!! Help!!! -

Laying to boots to two cities (one city and one town, actually) in a single post. Nice efficiency and economic use of posts. -
When it comes to Dickinson, bury him in the minors by way of loaning him to some other team's AHL franchise and get the $1.25M cap relief or simply buy him out for $1M cap hit in 2022-23, 2024-25 and 2025-26 and $400K in 2023-24. He's of no value to the Canucks.

Investing in the stock market - Discussion
bigbadcanucks replied to AV's Coin's topic in Off-Topic General
You're trying to sound like you know what you're talking about, but your ignorance is grossly evident. The only "cheap" oil is in the middle east and Nigeria. All other oil fields in the world either require some form of in-situ stimulation (whether its fracking, SAGD, horizontal drilling, well floods, well fires, etc.) which is costly and off shore drilling, which is even more costly. You might want to take some time and read the financials of Canadian producers who are "mining" the giant reserves of oil trapped in sands. If you think North American governments are trying to limit oil production, you should take a trip to northern Alberta, northern Saskatchewan, Williston basin in the Dakotas and Texas. There's no shortage of oil fields in full production. "The taxes and roadblocks were meant to make solar and wind competitive which they may now be." - you might look into what it costs to generate 1 kwh of power from solar and/or wind. Obviously you have no clue of the economics of renewable energy generated by solar and wind farms. The only thing making these sources viable is government subsidies, which us tax payers are paying for. You might want to educate yourself before you form an opinion let alone lay it out there for the public to see. -
Here's my bold prediction for OEL...he's going to age as nicely as Sergei Zubov. Though OEL doesn't have the elite offensive skills of Zubov, OEL reminds me of Sergei Zubov. Barring any unforeseen injury, I can see OEL aging well and being a top four defenceman until his contract expires. With Hughes and OEL, I think the Canucks have a solid 1-2 to build their defence around.

[Signing] Canucks sign Filip Johansson
bigbadcanucks replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
You're right in saying that it was Gillis' best trade, but Patrick White's draft pedigree had nothing to do with the Canucks' ability to unload him for Erhoff. Sorry to burst your Gillis bubble, but this trade was a salary dump by the Sharks. It just so happened that Gillis was at the right place at the right time to make this deal. Speaking of Brad Lukowich, his only goal of the 2009-2010 season vs. the Sabres was hands down one of the nicest goals of the season. Back to the Johannson signing...what's there not to like about a free prospect? I hope the kid blows the doors off and becomes a legit NHLer in 2-3 years when guys like Schenn and Myers will have tenured themselves off the Canucks roster. Edit: Saw your other post @ShawnAntoski...looks like we have the same hopes for Johansson. -
[Rumour] Canucks interested in Andrei Kuzmenko
bigbadcanucks replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If Kuzmenko signs with the Canucks, I honestly hope I'm wrong and he turns into useful player. Virtanen...LMFAO. What loser he turned out to be. Totally agree...the more the better. You can never have enough of these prospects/potential players in your system. Like dating girls in your teen years and twenties. You never know which one turns out to be your wife. More tries, the better your decision will be. -

The KHL is a league where clowns like Leipsic are among the top 25 scorers. Other players in the top 25? Nikita Gusev - failed in Jersey; Vadim Shipachev - failed in Vegas; bunch of North American who couldn't crack the NHL and barely play at the AHL level - Corban Knight, Brian O'Neill, Curtis frickin' Valk, Kenny Agostino, Daniel Audette, Phillipe Mallett, Taylor Beck, Andy Miele and the aforementioned misogynist Brendan Leipsic. You know who else was among the top KHL players a couple of seasons ago? Linden Vey. Throw in Goldobin, Granlund, Lohtera, Kohklachev, Niklas Jensen being some of the top players in the KHL, it's hard to get all excited about "an exciting free prospect" out of the KHL. If Kuzmenko signs elsewhere, I would hardly say that it's a big swing and a miss.
