  1. good thing we didn't draft him first overall!
  2. I think we are lucky if we can draft this kid. Good size, at 6.1 201lbs, with "Skill-set among top in the draft class. Elusive one-on-one talent & electric quickness." Casey Mittelstadt's Player Profile Jeff Marek of Sportsnet - Mar. 8th: "Was over a point per game player in the USHL and since going back to play high school hockey at Eden Prairie he’s more than doubled that rate of production." ISS Hockey - Feb. 7th: "Skill-set among top in the draft class. Elusive one-on-one talent & electric quickness." Mike Morreale NHL.com - Jan. 20th: "The University of Minnesota recruit has elite puck skills, NHL quickness, and has excelled at every level. Mittelstadt (6-1, 201) was MVP of the USA Hockey All-American Top Prospects Game in September, had 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 16 games with Green Bay of the United1ibs States Hockey League early in the season, and now is the leading scorer for his high school team." Future Consideration: "A smart, quick and highly skilled center…has a tremendous first-step jump, change of pace and ability to make defenders miss…though not the biggest or strongest player on the ice, he finds success in loose puck battles by using his smarts and insane ability to shield the puck from defenders…never takes a shift off, and has added noticeable muscle and speed this season…will finish chances with a quick release on a wrister or powerful snap shot…puckhandling skills are excellent and he is able to create scoring chances in almost all of his offensive-zone shifts using his great vision and understanding of the game" Dennis Schellenberg Hockey Prospectus - Nov. 9th: "An average-sized smallish player who keeps fans on the edge of their seats with his great puckhandling skills and good hands. Highly skilled offensively, he can twist and turn with the puck using his slick hands and blazing speed. "
  3. what a great pick at 66th overall. GJ Benning!
  4. It is time this city and team get a 1st overall pick. 47 years and never picked 1st...whats the odd of that?
  5. That's what Button said about Virtanen at the draft. Hugggeee upside !
  6. Yes it would be a great additional, but I rather have Nylander or Ehlers. Overall, I don't think he have the IQ to be defensively responsible compare to a Hansen. His young, he wants to be a top line player, if the coaching staff tell him to play bottom six role for the the next few years, don't think he would like that.
  7. If Brock plays the reminder games of the season, is he still count as a rookie next season?
  8. What? Not only is Jake a bust, his not friendly too?
  9. I'm proud his a Canuck. Bright future ahead with his skill set and more importantly, his character as a person.
  10. &^@#... sent him to Comets. His making a positive impact and ruining our grand tanking plan !
  11. Last time it was this exciting was game 7 of the cup final!
  12. Don't give up hope on him, he might one day develop into a Virtenan!
  13. Nope, I've been watching Nylander and Ehlers! and sometimes Ritchie!
  14. we got something for him..plus he was picked lower end of the 1st round
  15. JB only made one bad pick so far in the first round, I trust him his ability in drafting.
  16. $&!#, if we get f over again and draft outside the top 3, vancity fans might start to smash and burn things again. I do hope whoever picks in the top 3 pick a Dman.
  17. I don't know.. Nico and Patrick hard to pass them up, since this years draft is more unpredictable. Patrick more of sure thing to be a top 6, well Nico have more potential to be a star.
  18. Nothing wrong with a top pairing, puck moving D. That is hard to find in this league. He got the smarts to be a very good defensely and if he can chip in 35-40 points at his peak, I think its a great pick. He reminds me a sighly more offensive and less phyical verison of Mattias Ohlund.
  19. if we get a top 3 picks, i wouldn't mind trading it to arizona or the Aves for their 2018 first rounder...the top 3 picks in that years draft, looks Godly. Then in a perfect world, we will have the 1st and 2nd overall in 2018 Andrei Svechnikov Joseph Veleno Rasmus Dahlin Like seriously, most experts have Nolan Patrick rated 1st overall and top out as a 2nd line center?? This might be one of the worst draft ever. But the last 2 yrs draft's 1st and 2nd overall ppicks was pretty amazing.
