I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure he stated two years time because he already has contract obligations to the khl. He can't sign a contract with Vancouver until that contract is over because of some khl nhl agreement.

I personally didn't like how they handled Kassian when they first traded for him. Playing him 6 minutes a game with Lapierre and Wiese on the 4th and expecting him to get better offensively when all he's working on is stuff he doesn't really need to work on. I think it set him back and would have been better served a year in the ahl. Also I think Shinkaruk and Jensen have shown more to earn spots on this team that there really isn't any spots to earn. He has trained with the sedins and played against these guys in preseason. I just don't think playing 10 minutes a game with 4th liners is the right way to develop a guy you want to be an offensive threat. It's just ashame he's not old enough for the ahl because this kid needs 1rst line minutes with 1rst line pp time to develop into the top 6 player we covet.

Unfortunately for Horvat that benning got Vey I think that puts Horvat back in junior. At that point Gaunce or Shink would be admirable call ups

Need one more starter! Just don't trade stroman sanchez or hoffman to get him. I like the trade to platoon with Lind or Francisco. When brett lawrie is back I think kawa is benched. Francisco and Valencia probably share the time on third.

Just because a player is listed as a center doesn't mean he can't play any other position. Often you'll see teams roll with two centers on a line or two.

Final tsn rankings had Virtanen ranked 7th and we took him 6th. I didn't realize the pick was that off the board! Look all of us had our favorites most didn't get picked but it's time to look at things a different way! You have a goal scoring PF in the system who got drafted to his favorite team! If he pans out we have a career canuck!

Sure would be nice if he got traded a better whl team.

I've come around with this pick on the high reward mentality! At first I wondered why didn't they pick Glover and try and get Tryamkin later. With no 4th round pick you just don't know if he makes it to the 5th round. Happy to have Tryamkin in the system!
