Buy a crock pot and make a ton of chili/stew, etc. Then freeze it in ziploc bags and bring to work/school/whatever you do.

IMO the only way to break free from going out for lunch every day is to cook in bulk. If you try to make a lunch each morning you'll quit after a week.

As much as I'd like that to be true, I think the EDM/NJD deal was an anomaly, not the norm.  Colorado ain't gonna move him for peanuts.

      thejazz97

Gudbranson was a similar deal though. And while they were both pending UFAs, both Yandle and Goligoski got moved for cheap.

His pressers alone were possibly worth the grief.

Tol' Healy to go pound sand.

Spoke strongly on the twins' behalf.

Like Keenan's stint, he helped get the trade-carousel turning. Let's just chalk it up as a 'necessary evil'.

& when the drunkard hits rock-bottom, he will learn 'The Serenity Prayer'..So Torts was just a harsh stage for deliverance...

I like him on a 1 year deal. He has shown in the past that teams are willing to trade an early round pick for him at the deadline each year when they run out of their primary options.

Maybe the Canucks can try again with trading pending UFAs at the deadline like the Leafs do to accumulate some picks finally.

Oh god Jazz, don't do it man. Don't do it. I'm watching it till the end only because I've invested so much time in it, I just have to finish it. Its gotten so bad now, don't do it.

    3. thejazz97

      thejazz97

Ok, good, because I've only watched the first episode - but it is pretty good. I dunno. One Tree Hill was supposed to be my next show, but Netflix doesn't have it.

    4. Apricot

      Apricot

It was soooooo goooooooooooood in the beginning. But then the writing just went all over the place and I'm 100% sure the writers don't even know where they're going with the show now . I'm watching it just because I've wasted 6 years(7 if I finish this season) of my life to the show. My boy cousin continues to watch mainly because of Shay Mitchell

One Tree Hill thoooooooooooooooooo, watch that asap. Its so good, sooooooooooooo good. I've re-watched the entire series about 9 times. That you gotta watch man

  11. According to Botch people around the league think we'll be giving Lucic the same contract as Yandle or more.

Fricks sakes. I'd rather have $8m/4y than $6m/7y

      Mr.53

@thejazz97I mean it's not so much of a problem as it hasn't really hindered his career all that much. It's given him a hunchback, which everyone likes to talk about, but it hasn't made him less effective. But fair point, He's really the only NHLer with that condition, so we truly don't know how it will effect him. I'll concede that.

@Wild Sean Monahan Yeah, they're small and fast, but they're also not big and strong. Athletic doesn't necisarily mean how fast you are. Shaquille O'Neal was a very athletic basketball player, but he wasn't all that fast. And Lucic is not a slow skater. He's an average skater, I'll give you that, but again, I don't think he will see a major drop off in his speed until he's at least 33. Players don't usually hit the age of 30 and all of a sudden lose their skating ability. Once he hits 33 or so, it will start to decline, if he isn't able to keep it up with modern medicine and practices.

Look, all signings have risk. You can't fleece everyone on every deal and come out with exactly what you want. If you want to get a player to play for you, you have to be willing to take some risk back. Otherwise the player gets fleeced and moves on. If it's a good gamble, take it, if it starts to go south 4 or 5 years from now, deal with it then.

    3. Sean Monahan

      Sean Monahan

Again, I don't doubt that he'll be productive at least for a few years. My worry is that he'll get slower and maybe incur some injury problems. I just feel anybody who plays the way he does is bound to have those issues st some point.

I fully understand that just about every free agent contract tends to be a little on the expensive side and often end up being boat anchors by the end. That's the nature of free agency, you overpay. Where I find issue with it for the Canucks is that he'll be on the books when it's time to pay our kids.

  18. Horvat, Baertschi, and Hutton will all be upgrading their game, the Sedins get to work their magic once again, the SHL MVP, a 6-foot-8 behemoth, a power forward, and Andrey Pedan will all be proving themselves, and a 6-foot-6 goalie will be taking over the starting role.

One of the best players outside the NHL will be joining us either late this season or next season, and we just drafted the best defenseman in the draft.

If you're not excited about that, you're taking this team for granted way too much.

A strong and balanced skater, he can rush the puck through the neutral zone with ease or backcheck with haste. Uses his size to his advantage, but knows his physical limits and plays within them. Instead of playing overly physical, he makes his presence felt by exhibiting his high-end playmaking ability and puck possession play. All-in-all, a well-rounded blueliner who thrives under pressure and can be trusted in all situations.
