JB needs to sign this guy...if not, then just add to the list of blunders made by him.

[Rumour] Tyler Toffoli to hit free agency
Pete M replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I really hope they don't sign OEL and let Tanev go elsewhere...signing Marky to a contract without a NMC would be okay, then sign Toffoli, by buying out Sutter and Baer (if Baer is not in the plans). If they have cap remaining, then sign Dillion...nvm, Dillion is a LD -
A lot of it is mental, he might think he is dedicated, but he needs to compare his mind set to Crosby, McKinnon, Giroux, and the other elite hockey players to understand what it takes and the dedication and mind set that is required to be elite....maybe a mental coach can help with setting his mind to make hockey a priority similar to how Crosby makes hockey a priority....he almost has to be reborn, if you know what I mean.
-
Gotta a feeling he will keep progressing....if he makes hockey his number one priority and only priority, he will become the PWF that we expect. Focus on hockey when in the twenties and start living your life in your thirties...if he does this, he will get paid in the near future. He needs to think only hockey. then again, life happens while your making plans.

Nice....and at a good cap hit. -
Virtanen is a tradeable asset if he signs.

[Rumour] Tyler Toffoli to hit free agency

I'm hoping, Toffoli is going to FA to avoid losing the 4th round pick and he will sign with the Canucks...either Tanev or Marky or both will get big pay days with other teams. -

Toffoli is a foundational player the Canucks can use rather than Sutter. -
I hope he gets a real chance with the Canucks to prove he can play at the NHL level this coming season; if he succeeds, then this will help the Canucks both on and off the ice.

big picture thinking, SKA won the game 3-1 and Pods contributed 20:27 minutes:seconds of ice time. Team first kind of guy in my books. The W matters.
-
not to worry....they're keeping him. JB "you know Tram, the best thing for you during this pandemic is to play another year in the KHL...You get ice time in September to March and then you join us in March for the mid season and playoff push (caveat here, if the NHL pushes the Dec 1 signing date to March)...if not, you play for us the following season" Tram " Mister Benning, you have been good to me and my family....I love you, I will go to war for you".

this is not fact...only innuendo...what is fact, is they passed on a franchise player
-
I'm afraid that I know what we are getting if he comes here...and it won't end well.

Great trade...Miller is a hockey player...25 years old 4 years at $5.25M, power forward (218 Ibs), can play all positions, character guy in the room (liked by his fellow players), production showed he was on the upswing (despite his last year with Tampa playing on the 3rd line), good in the dot, and just entering his prime...this is the kind of player you go for...not OEL at$8M+...need to stay away from him. also, wanted MT over OJ...they passed on a franchise player - it was a no brainer over OJ ...MT is also a stud.
-
I hope Boston gets him because there are better options so to not handcuff this team with an aging player with maybe 3 good years and $8M+ cap hit. His numbers (stats) aren't anything great...and he will be on the downward side of his career in a few years.
-
Aren't you fore telling his greatness at 34,35, and 36....I would say we all are foretelling
-
just don't like the $8M for a 34, 35, 36 year old player, who will decline. Hockey is a young man's game and 30+ is getting old.
-
Yeah, but what if they succeed and do well (this is not a stretch)....Rafferty knocked it out of the park last year, OJ is getting healthier and Tryamkin is a beast and already has done well in the NHL...JB would look like a genius ... LE would have only one year left on his contract, Sutter would be gone and Rous/ Beagle would be gone with LEs contract, Then use the money wisely.
-
Don't fuc my team up!
-
Give OJ, Rafferty and Tryamkin a chance....if they fail, then do something the following year. At least give these players a chance at the NHL level...if they succeed or fail, you won't be stuck with a bad contract in 4 years or maybe less. This team has made strides and some of the dead money will be coming off in two years...let it ride for a year to see what these guys bring. If they don't work out, then we get a high draft pick and changes can be made. I'd put more faith in these three being successful, then OEL being a good player at 34, 35 and 36 getting paid over $8M. Rathbone can be added in two years time. Develop your players and then give them a chance ffs

Sorry ON....not at $8M...I'll pass, just like I did with LE
