[PGT] Los Angeles Kings at Vancouver Canucks | Nov. 18, 2022

I quite like those. On the first I would get rid the broken bits transitioning from the C as well as the jagged line. Would clean it up and be more consistent in the styling. -
[RUMOUR] Vancouver and Columbus in trade talks

That is why they need to stop screwing around and get started on rebuild yesterday. -
Exactly where are we as a franchise? (Discussion)
DrJockitch replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I have been saying similar through last year. Not to get excited about a coaching bump. This team had multiple chances to take control of their playoff destiny and always fell flat on their faces, often against pretty bad teams and in dramatic fashion. They are not good enough on the ice or strong enough mentally. At the end of the day EP very well may be the best player we ever had. Every year we push for the middle and try to scrape in is another year of his career wasted on mediocrity. Benning was terrible at pro scouting and valuation of UFA contracts. He payed too long, too much and too frequently. He didn’t understand defenceman either ironically, or at least modern defenceman. He left this team saddled with bad contracts paying for what players once were. He traded more first and second round draft pics than any other GM not in Boston or TB. ‘When they cleaned house it was time to rebuild around EP and QH but instead they doubled down and acted like a contender. It is non-sensical. ‘I cheer for this team every time they play but do not like JR repeating the mistakes of the last 10 years. -

My summary is we are a team, that when everything goes well, can scrape into the playoffs. ‘Stanley cup winners usually have defining characteristics and excel at playing their game. We as a team are deep at forward and can score on the PP and that is about it that can be said positively. ‘What defines us? We aren’t a big physical team, we don’t run you out of the building with speed and skill. We win on the PP and out of this world goaltending and since our goal tending has not been great so far we don’t win. ‘We have a historically bad PK and don’t have many players that can do much 5v5. This is not a formula for success. We have also shown that we are a mentally weak team that can’t hold leads. ‘While we have improved and started our run to drafting mid round, this team is on a treadmill to nowhere other than scraping into the playoffs every few years and feeling better about our mediocre team for brief periods of time. ‘Owner and President don’t have patience to do this right and are going to keep spending cap space and picks/prospects to try to scrape this group to the middle of the pack. -
First reaction, who cares. Second, why is Gritty not 1st. Third, who cares.

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

Makes no sense he keeps getting put back in the lineup. Has been our worst D this year. -

Well they are desperate for D. But yeah, doubt it happens as said above. Don’t really want to look at detail at their roster but we probably have to take contract back but I am okay with this if it mitigates some of our cost and is player on 1 year or actual useful young player or someone that may have value at deadline. -
[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

If we can move Myers without it costing us other assets I will be surprised, very pleasantly. He was terrible for us in the bubble playoffs. Couldn’t stay out of the box. ‘Cap space is most valuable asset in NHL atm. If we can open 4-6M up without costing us a first or second rounder that is a major coup for the so far unimpressive management group. -

I hope so too. Hope it doesn’t cost us too much to move him. I think this all seems very unlikely. -
That isn’t a left exclusive things. Right wing media describes immigration as invasion. All Fox News and OAN do is fear monger. It is more I think the 24 hour news cycle and the constant need for ratings in an increasingly divided society. Make you think that group B is trying to take away your life style…constant fear mongering and division. Look at Tucker all he does is racism and fear mongering.

Things have gotten so distorted that we think of CNN as leftist media. CNN sits in the middle, MSNBC, HuffPost, these are left biased outlets. ‘Problem is the reasonable, middle of the road assessment of Trump was that he was an inappropriate person to be president that had major Autocratic leanings and did what autocrats do, ran against the media because he knows there is so much about him that is negative that will and has come out. He can’t defend his actions so he rallies against those uncovering his chronic scumbaggery.

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade
DrJockitch replied to brian42's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
In no calculation does Myers get us a first. Will be happy if he doesn’t cost us one. ‘If JR/PA get a first for Myers in any situation other than a trade also involving Bo or taking massive TO cap dump then I will happily publicly apologize to PA and JR for constantly referring to them as Benning 2.0. -

They are all professionals, they understand it is a business. EP will do what he sees as best for EP. Holding on to Miller continuing to lose by continuing the Benning plan of pushing to maintain mediocrity is more likely to push EP to want to leave. If I am a player I want to be on the team that doesn’t worry about every nicety and does what it takes to win. The players are not necessarily as invested emotionally in the teams as the fans. How many people really feel passionate about their employers? -

Yes, I do. No concerns about that at all. There already exists a bias against signing in Canada and that wouldn’t make it any worse at all for us. -

Don’t expect any return. As long as doesn’t cost us more than a second. If we take contract back or retain then they can give us a 5th or 6th rounder. ‘Would see if OEL at $5M is palatable. Eating $2M is better than the buyout he is working towards. Again for future considerations would accept that deal even with the retention. -

Bo won’t be better as far as cap costs starting next year. Going to have to be a dollar on dollar out deal if anything goes down as both teams close to cap. -

Most people get rich the old fashioned way, they are born into it. -
Priority trade list for me would be in order: Miller OEL Myers Boeser Pearson Garland ‘unfortunately that would probably take a lot of pics and prospects to move.

Maybe if they hired Benning.
