    The trade is basically Boeser Eriksson 4 1sts for Marner and a 1st and his 12 million dollar contract. I like Marner but that's so much of the future to give up for him.

    We can't get Marner because we don't have our 2020/2021 1st pick. I don't think Edmonton would want a another bad contract. Also that's such a bad return for Boeser only getting a 1st rounder.

    I really feel like Jets might not match a offer on Laine if its too much. I think they value Connor more than Laine.

    Honestly I think its a bad trade for both teams.

    I think most these teams will be worse because of their cap situation and maybe the teams what didn't make it a little bit better. So it will be a very close race again.

    I wish I didn't know all the free agent signings before free agency started. Kinda ruined it for me.

    Why would he want to sign there could of been a nice piece on a team trying to make it or contending.

    I remember thinking that was such a bad trade for them. Bergevin really proved a lot of people wrong about him last season.

    Looking at some old Kovalchuk highlights. He had to be one of the more entertaining players just because of how he played.

      @Coconuts  I don't think the was doing THAT bad with the Kings until Willie became head coach and stuck him on the 4th line.

    Canucks really don't have the cap space to do any big moves in free agency. I can imagine once they re-sign everyone they'll have around 4-6 million left.

      Eriksson doesn't make the team out of camp.  Loaning him to another team's AHL franchise would be the best solution for all concerned.

    Just sign Edler till 2021 so he is a free agent and Seattle won't pick him up.

      I feel bad for Colorado with all of their hard work to build through the draft and assemble a group of Dmen like they have yet they can only protect three! Just not fair! ( here come the Bettman apologists )

      @6string Don't worry. They almost won the lottery draft with the brutal OTT trade, despite doing quite well in the playoffs. Their high pick this year will help them get someone good.

    I don't think 8, 10 and Gaudette would cut it. Hughes or Kakko has that franchise potential for Devils
