  1. Having pizza and champagne in the Canucks mug for dinner and watching a movie. I got home from the grocery store and will probably stay in, unless I have a desire to go to other grocery stores. I have apples on my list.
  2. The picture on the left was taken last year after getting a haircut - that is me with long hair. After a month, I decided that long hair was not for me and got a pixie cut - second picture.
  3. It is all so strange that Prince Charles is now King Charles III. One moment we hear that Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision, and the next moment we hear she is gone.
  4. Frugal people do have nice things. As a frugal person, I have nice things and live in a nice apartment by myself with a cat, and am very independent. I get a thrill saving money, budgeting, and making my weekly grocery list. I don't go into debt having nice things, and the nice things I do have like designer handbags, those were experiences, not spending my day shopping, but being on vacation and buying that handbag, and I did not go into debt. I don't care what people think about me and how they perceive me by the way I'm dressed or how I look. I love looking hip, but I don't spend a lot of money on looking hip and I love wearing sunglasses. For the ladies coming after you, wouldn't you much prefer dating someone or being in a relationship with someone who likes you for your personality instead of the material things and great restaurants you can take her? When I spend money, it is for the experience, not spending my day out shopping. Great experiences have included day trips down to San Francisco, Montréal for the Playoffs (and I met Guy Lafleur one time and I got a CH haircut another time), spending the day in Victoria, going to London, just to name a few. And I love Canucks and Habs games! Of course these experiences were before the pandemic, but I am slowly getting back.
  5. I like! It reminds me of the Kraken.
  6. Is that for real?!! Is that a real menu from a restaurant or bar? That's too funny!
  7. Oh yeah, and I am very visual. That's enough of me! It's time for bed now.
  8. I'd say, let's not be shy, let's all post our pics! I post way too much in here. I don't post because I am vain. I post because I like taking pics and I really like sunglasses, and a picture tells a thousand words, and I like to express.
  9. I confess ~ I have a habit of saying things out loud all excited and especially when I don't even notice people walking by. Tonight on my walk, I came across many free things, and I said out loud, "Woah, check that out, look at this!" And when walking home, I saw a taco truck, and I said, "Woah, wow, a TACO TRUCK!" I was excited about the taco truck! People stare, and I don't realize that they are there until after I talk out loud. Then yesterday at the Goodwill, I saw a popcorn maker and a crockpot, and I said out loud, "Woah, check that out! A popcorn maker!" the person beside me stared at me...
  10. Getting a second booster shot has been on my mind, but I have not heard further details about it in WA state/USA. It's the information that I am lacking. I've carried on with my life and have gotten back to most of the things I did three years ago. In a few weeks I am taking a day trip via airplane. The information -Vintage Canuck- provided above gives me more information of what B.C. is doing, and perhaps I should call the King County Health Department and talk to them and get more information about a second booster, etc.
  11. I get really excited over Vancouver-Boston, Vancouver-Montréal, and Vancouver-Seattle games and am looking forward to these games this season.
  12. Nice! I was thinking about my grandmother the other day. She's no longer with us, but boy was she blunt/to the point, and told you how it was. I remember being 4 years old eating one of her soups and tipped my bowl... You were not allowed to tip your bowl at grandma's. I like those shades! And is that beer in the background???!
  13. Pulp - Disco 2000 Jarvis Cocker is still one of the best dressed men in music. That guy has great fashion sense!
  14. Sonic Youth - Kool Thing The fashion is this video is great.
  15. The Cranberries - (They Long To Be) Close To You
  16. Woah, check out the free stuff I got after my nature walk today! I have a thing for free stuff and I should stop. The jars are cool and so is the fabric paint. This wine is a steal at $3.99 at Trader Joe's and tastes really good. It's like a $1.00 per glass. I would show a picture of the bottle with wine in it, but I drank it all last night.
  17. I love summer too and I love the heat! Cloudy days mess with me and I don't like cold weather, but I do like snow. The sun finally came out today so I got dressed, wore my hockey shirt and red sunglasses, and went on a nature walk, and then to Trader Joe's after. I needed some string cheese, salsa, organic kale, and watermelon wine. I just started on the watermelon wine. It taste quite good! I'm on my first glass. When I was growing up, one of the neighborhood kid's parents found a skateboard that nobody claimed, and we loved sitting on the skateboard and going down the hill. One of the great things about Fall is hockey. I cannot wait to watch Canucks and Canadiens games!
  18. Cloudy days are yuck.

Great for lighting of photos though. My sister used to love overcast days for photography.

  19. When I sit around and drink champagne, I find I am less productive, and I usually drink the bottle. It's so easy to drink champagne and all of it. I baked a lot last night - the banana-apple-chocolate chip bread with cinnamon. So that should last me a week or two. I guess the list is healthy, I didn't even realize it. Oh yeah, and I am not that young. In 2023, I will be 40, but I still look sort of young.
  20. This week's grocery list is a little less. I have all the dessert baked and a lot of beans and rice with vegetables to cook which worked out well freezing it for lunches/dinners for the week. The first part of the week I ate rice and beans with vegetables for lunch and found it took longer to eat, and I like to walk at lunch, so I switched my lunch to eating banana-apple-chocolate chip bread, and the rice and beans with vegetables for dinner wrapped in two tortillas with cheese and organic kale. This week my grocery list consists of: Organic kale Organic parsley Gum Handi Snacks Frozen vegetables String cheese Cheese Oatmeal Tortillas Eggs Potatoes Salsa Oh yeah, and kombucha. Almost forgot about that.
  21. For those who work from home, what brand of headset with built in microphone do you use when interacting with co-workers and clients?  I looked online, but there are so many brands to choose from.

  22. I finished baking and put my oh so great banana-apple-chocolate chip bread in the refrigerator covered with tin foil. The bottom pan, I baked last week or Saturday, I cannot remember, but it is half way through. The 2 smaller ones on top and the pan in the middle, I baked tonight. I even added cinnamon and more chocolate chips. The more chocolate chips, the better ! I think this is about a week's worth of desserts or maybe two weeks. I really like dessert, and anything oh so delicious like banana-apple-chocolate chip bread is fantastic! Do you think I should freeze some of it, or is 1-2 weeks in the refrigerator fine?
