  1. It's Christmas, and I am not having a good Christmas. My cat is at the animal hospital, and I have been up all night. It's serious, and I am completely overwhelmed.
  2. I wonder how people wrap their presents so nicely, and I do a terrible job at wrapping.  What’s their secret?

@Toews that's not that bad, I went to a white elephant exchange this weekend and (given the spots that I taped) the person who opened my gift was like "looks like someone ran out of wrapping paper lol" (in fact I did, I looped a sheet around the middle of the box and then had to wrap either side separately, then I taped the three pieces together lol)

@smithers joe that’s like my gifts too.  I had to wrap gifts yesterday, and it was really hard!  I was starting to get frustrated. The ends of the gifts came out different, the wrapping paper was loose and lopsided, but I put bows on them.  The ones that you peel off and stick to the box.

I didn’t exactly lose them.  They were folded up, but I forgot I had the Linden jersey and some other jerseys.  I was thinking about one of the jerseys last night.  It is signed by a player and it was a nice time getting that signed.

I was also trying on and organizing clothes while drinking champagne at 2am.  Champagne is a great drink.  I recommend it to everyone!

  4. When I was 5, maybe younger or older, the Maple Leafs where the first team I knew of. Then after that, it was either the Canadiens or the Canucks. They are the closest NHL team to Seattle, and I really like hockey! I've been to many Canucks games, and really enjoy going.
  5. I keep looking at this picture that a friend of mine sent me a few hours ago. It was taken about15 years ago. It's a picture of all of us ladies out partying. Gosh, I look so young! My face was more round back then, and my hair was about the same length, and I had blond streaks in my hair, and am wearing red Leipsic. I keep looking at the picture. It was a happy time back then.
  6. Oh my, I'm just tuning in! I accidentally scheduled hot yoga this evening.
  7. This is a really tough one! Gosh, and I had a really tough time looking at earrings on the NHL site. 3-2 Montreal.
  8. I confess ~ I was on the NHL site shopping from my two favorite teams, adding and adding the the shopping cart, and then I realized that I already have sweaters, a coat, mittens, shirts, coffee mugs, etc from these teams. I have a whole wardrobe of this stuff... Then I didn't buy any of it. I really liked the bedding though. Maybe I will think about that bedding.
  9. is it better to schedule a house call for a vet we have had for years or take her to a new vet down the street?  The house call is $160..., and this vet we have had for years specializes in cats only.  Kitty is also a one person cat, and only likes one person.

its a balance and one pet owners struggle with, quality service, continuity with one veterinarian, money and perceived value.

If it was me I would continue with the veterinarian I have, if money is the issue then I get it seems steep to absorb a $ 160 charge and I assume that is only the house call fee not the exam or other services. I would also point out that although it may be less stressful on you or kitty to have a house call done it can't be overlooked that while yes service can be provided there is generally better access to and ability with resources in the clinic vs taking a house call kit on the road.

House calls we tend to provide in my work experience mainly for euthanasia services, some examinations are ok but at the end of the day it is better for the pet, the veterinarian and team to have the patient in clinic with resources at your disposal.

The fee for housecalls may also again seem steep-ish but remember you are paying for a professional service either after hours which may involve calling in support staff or during business hours where time must be blocked off with the veterinarian leaving other obligations at the clinic and so on.

If it was me i'd stick with the vet I have a history with, assuming it is a positive one. If it is the money I can assure you the charge is the going rate and gets much higher in smaller towns so its not being unreasonable but understandably if you want to save the money or even put it towards anything you need to do with kitty re: diagnostics, treatments, prescriptions then you save.

That's great advice @Mike Vanderhoek.  It's partially about the cost of the vet visit and the house call prices were increased, but this is my cat, and I love this cat very much.  She's almost 15, and has had some health issues, and even though she does not like vet visits, we know this vet, and I think it is best for her, and this vet specializes in cats only.

  10. I went to Hot Pilates. I feel it. Boy!
  11. I really like the Canucks Flying Skate jersey, even though it is not their current jersey, it has been worn a few times this Season. Other than that, here's my ranking: 1. Canucks - Stick in the Rink (Home) 2. Montreal Canadiens - CH (Home) The other teams, I don't pay much attention to their jerseys. I only like two teams.
  12. I've been taking math classes at a college, and took the exam last night, and thought after taking it I was going to fail. And was like, how can I fail?! I like math, I enjoy the challenge, I can't fail! And was afraid to check my email, and was coming to terms that it is okay to fail, that I am taking math for the challenge and as a hobby. Then I checked my email 10 minutes ago and passed. I received a 3.3 grade point in the class. Maybe I will continue this hobby, that and hot yoga.
  13. I lost my focus over an hour ago with the Leafs scoring. I tend to lose my focus when the other team scores. This is so passé with these Leafs goals. It's time to move on to the Fashion of my wardrobe!
  14. That Flying V uniform is da bomb! I want a T shirt or tank top with shorts so I can wear it to hot yoga.
  15. I heard about an electric seaplane today. Off subject, but a small seaplane company that flies from Vancouver-Seattle, is going to try the electric ones. I don't know when, but that sounds great and new.
  16. I like that, that's a great idea. I could do that with the Bruins!!!!
  17. I should really take up wine again while watching these games. Either way, I will be super happy.
  18. I wonder if Alfie is at the game or watching it on the TV since the Mrs. is a fan of the other team.
  19. Oh my, I'm starting to drift off since the Leafs unfortunately scored and scored, like that looks nice - Vancouver buildings, is that where the BC Lions play, and that soccer team? And oh, while the camera is on the audience, ooh, what a good looking guy that is!
