  1. Don't worry. In 15 years someone will add Tyler Toffoli and think they are a genius too. Edit: What about Beezer? Or Sanderson. Even Sean Burke as a possible 3rd stringer...
  2. I've been beating this drum for a few years now. To me it's the most important thing the NHL needs to figure out. Really what they should do is make the cap based on net pay or provide extra or less cap on the highest taxed and lowest taxed teams. Maybe bring it to the 43% mark or something (a lot of teams after the six with no state taxes, have very low state taxes). Miller lost over 800k each years he's played with us. Sure he knows that was a great investment as his next deal is going to be so massive ... but we'd have to pay him over 10 to match a 8.5 deal in six US teams ... 9.5 to match a bunch of others. Yes the league needs to address this.
  3. Yes me too. I highly doubt a Miller trade is going to get us a top four RHD in that age range we need. If it was a one for one trade after this season ... man that cap hit is going to sting! Also your not alone. Quite a few hockey writers have extrapolated IF Miller starts the season with us, that odds are very high we end up as a top 8 team league wide .... and in a very good position at the TDL. The playoff revenue and the playoff starved fans ... will be just too tough to ignore. If the race is super tight and we are a bubble team again, well that's a simple decision. Injuries are about the only thing that would put us there, and maybe that's Miller, plus at least one more key guy. Few facts: This teams PP under Bruce was 26.9%, and down the stretch over 30% for 20ish games. In 2010-2011 when we led the league it was 24.4%. Down the stretch we were tops in the league, better then EDM and COL, both so good we haven't seen that since before the cap. PK was good for 12/13th ish. Went from dismal, to over 80%...also better then both COL and FLD's...definitely respectable. And we've added guys Ilya M ... that should give us a boost. Top ten isn't out of the question, and well when it's only a couple percentage points from 5th who really cares. 5 x 5 this team was solid to great all year long. Bruce overall would have put us at 105 points. Down the stretch stuff a lot more then that. My bold prediction is if we keep Miller for the entire season, 112 points. Millers point steak or 27 in 13 games is one of the best this clubs ever seen. He was on pace for 120 points down the stretch. EP over 40 goals and over 90 points ... Horvat over 40 goals too. Even Brock got the Bruce there it is bug. Aside from only OEL and Myers, the rest of the team is still on their RFA included deals. Demko is up in four years, QHs in five. Both Horvat and Miller are up after this season. Aside from one CHI cup, every single cup won since the cap came in, was won with almost all the guys who carried the mail on their 2nd and 3rd contracts. The bulk of the core in a lot of cases (CHI x 2, PIT x 3, LA x 2 .. Boston, St. Louis, ANA, CAR, TB x 2) and the bridesmaids too. Staal, Perry, Getzlaf we're the only other guys not on their second deals that helped carry the mail. Both ANA and CAR were veteran teams though. In other words, the ELC's help cap of course, but it's really not at all the main window for teams. Even PIT first cup that core was already on their second (boffo) contracts. Sedin teams never had depth on the wings. Burrows. Then Higgins and Samuelson lol. Not enough. WCE era was a one line team. We haven't seen this much depth upfront since the early 90's. And never since the cap came in. Final facts: Miller is anticipated, by the experts. as of right now and last TDL, to get us what a prime rental gets you. A first rounder, a grade A prospect and a roster player back to make the cap hit work for the team your trading with, almost always a guy on an expiring deal. TO writers suggested Kerfoot, their first, and their two best prospects both B level meh projects and both small forwards (even though one was a former 15th overall, Kapenen deal). Magic beans indeed. COL fans were very nervous they'd have to play us when we were close to clawing our way back and before we ran out of gas and injuries accrued. It made the news. COL played a great game, we beat them 3-1 i think. And we're the better team. End of facts. Playoffs gives management a chance to evaluate what can be done with these guys post season play. Our first crack at it was aces. MIN was a top 3 defensive team. St. louis cup champs. Vegas was way better then. I believe this Canuck team is a way better team then the bubble one too. EPs about to explode. Miller won't regress. Why not use him while we have a shot! I'd actually consider buying. Severson. For futures plus one of Hogs or Rathbone.
  4. Wow just read your post after adding a new one. Had the Canucks at 112. Just going off the entire Bruce sample, and things going exactly the same ... we'd be at 105. A solid season, which puts us in a top four playoff spot in the West. Those extra 7 points to me, come from the fact our team is a little better on paper, and that we will see some core ascension. Miller actually scored at a 120ish pace down the stretch. Don't see that happening, but i'm not betting against him having another close to 100 or 100 point season either. He's betting on himself, and think he's going to play enough games with EP to keep it up (not that it mattered much, he was 3 of the top four line combo's last season, and it didn't matter who his wingers were).. CAL and EDM for sure are the other teams that could challenge for a top four spot and think your undervaluing what adding Kane did for them. He's back...and they didn't lose anything that matters. Smith actually is a very solid goalie, but can't and shouldn't have expected him to tow the line at his age. I remember him almost carrying a mediocre to terrible ARI team on his back years ago. Those days are of course, over for him. CAL seems like a tire fire waiting to happen. Sutter is a great coach though...hard to say for sure but they can't afford even one key injury, from one of Markstrom, Tanev, or JH. We all know what happens to Markstrom or Tanev if they are rode too hard.. that's going to come up sooner rather then later. Our team is entering its early prime now. Bruce had all, including even Brock before he went down, playing how they can. I highly doubt that goes out the window. I'd put money on it going even better for them. Why i have us going from 105 points to 112. We are about to have one of the best seasons this club ever had.
  5. After looking into Bruce's full sample size ... i'm going to be an optimist and change my vote to Vancouver, with the caveat that means Miller is staying for a playoff run. Why? Under Bruce we went from dead last, and the worst PK all-time, all teams, ever, to over 80%. Which even if that's where it is, still ranks around 12-13 overall. We've added better PKers ... and that's a very respectable PK, COL was 15th, FLD 16th overall. Only "contenders" ahead of us was CAR at number one with 88% (wow that's amazing!", CAL at 6th 83.2 ... only 2.8 or so ahead of us. Our PP was even more impressive. Went from not good, to 4th best in the league, overall, and well the last 25 or so games tops in the league at over 30%! Just for a reference, it was 2% better then 2010-2011 when we were tops in the league (26.9% under Bruce overall vs 24.4%). Also our PK was only 5% worse then 2010/2011...not bad at all. We all know how good that team was. Overall, our points percentage was good for 4th in the West (105ish points). That's where things get a tad hairy. CAL of course had a boffo season...i believe that team is going to have some hiccups this season...and wouldn't pick them. Vegas of course is turning into a train wreck. That leaves us and EDM, LA as a dark horse. EDM...well picked them already and changed my vote. The more i go over Bruce's sample size ... the more i believe this team is going to have a good start. Because no EP contract or influx of a ton of players. And our special teams finally figured things out. Even under Green we were a good team 5 x 5. Also feel we are going to be a better team. Somewhere in the middle between the late season push and Bruce's first 20 or so games...Would put us around 112 points.
  6. As an aside ... maybe we should make this poll public ... wonder what 3 secret TO or CAL fans or EDM fans who are regulars on this site voted to send EP packing?! Then again ... maybe it's just wow - what would we get back in return?! It is the dog days of summer, and i'm sure he'd get us a coveted RHD. EP is going to be a real star for us next season .... was on pace for over 40 goals and 90 points down the stretch ... then again Miller was on pace for 120. Keep saying maybe we end up being buyers ourselves ... 82 games like the last 25 or so. We surpassed EDM and COL on the PP, and became a top defensive team at the same time. 110 plus points wouldn't be off the table in that case, with a little more improvement, we could even challenge the club record during the peak Sedin years. There is a lot to like about this team right now. We'd need another top four D to really push the envelope, a Devon Toews like trade, would for sure put us over the top. Severson and his 4.1 cap hit with retention would be simple to jam in. Reality is, as far as our cap goes, this could be this cores best chance before a full blown re-set occurs.
  7. Enter an Annual Salary Please enter an amount equal to or above the league minimum salary of $700,000. Compare Taxes of Two Teams Florida Panthers (36.58% x $8,500,000) $3,109,300 Vancouver Canucks (53.00% x $8,500,000) $4,505,000 Difference in Tax Paid $1,395,700 Basically Florida could offer Miller 7.105ish to match Vancouver's 8.5... They still would have a tough time jamming him in. But it is a good example of their and TBs competitive advantage when it comes to signing guys. Stamkos at 8.5 looked like a steal ...well in TO they'd need to be 10, plus they couldn't do the extra year which bumps it up to over 11... anyone who thinks these guys "bought in" or "took a discount", it does appear that way at face value but they didn't. TO's "overspending" reverse wise doesn't look so bad in comparison either. Same with SJ, same with even JBs deals aside from LE.
  8. Well at least we aren't still talking about getting Nolan Patrick or the "next Lidstrom" in Dahlin ... CDC never disappoints.
  9. Wow. Horvat had 10 goals in 17 games. Two off Lindens mark, six off Bures. And went head to head against O'Reilly who was still at the peak of his powers ... Toews thought he did a good enough job to compare Horvat to himself. I don't get this Horvat vs Miller stuff, kind of ridiculous really. A team has more leaders in the room then just the letters on their chests. Miller wouldn't be a bad Captain either .., but wow i'm sure fans will turn on him eventually once his game starts regressing. Hank wasn't a cookie cutter of Naslund, or his brother. And the most ironic thing about this, is Naslund repeatedly brought Messier up as a big reason for his success both as a player and as a leader .... I'm sure we'd all love to have a Linden or a Smyl again, sure know i do. Horvat was also one of a few players against CAL that managed just fine his first crack at post season stuff super green. Guy just had his best season goal scoring wise as well. And is now in his best prime years... Landeskog was the clear choice to Captain the Avs... and still is. He's also Swedish lol. This is where we won't see eye to eye. Everyone is their own person. Sure they are influenced by those before them that's how hockey works. JR has said that they plan to have Horvats next deal done before the start of this season.... so might as well accept it.
  10. Have to wonder if we try Podz at C. It could solve some things for us. Miller and EP on separate lines or together seemed to work for us. Actually almost each line for better by adding EP, Podz or surprisingly, Pearson. Our best line was actually Hogs EP and Podz. Didn't get a very big sample size though ... only about one hours total minutes.
  11. And one thing we already know about Horvat, is he will make a very good middle/bottom six player as his next deal ages. Unlike the Sedins. He's going to be more like Linden in that regard. He's also a clutch dude. Did it for us against St. louis, and even against CAL as an 18/19 year old. Horvat absolutely stays before Miller. 100%. Miller too if we can get some buy in from these guys. Think that's possibly what JR/Allvin will propose to these guys depending on how Bruce's second and first full season crack with these guys goes. The Hockey Writers value for Horvats next deal was a bit shocking. 7.75ish x 8. That's where it gets muddy .. because what is Millers ask? 8.5 x 8? ...in this case if that's what it's going to cost us ...well it gets a lot tougher to asses. Millers next deal we should get full value for 3 years ... after that 2-3 years of can stomach it maybe, and then total crap. EK...well he won a couple of Norris trophies and was robbed of another one. SJ is so screwed lol. Likely Miller is traded.
  12. Myers stays. We can't afford to lose him. What we could do, is trade Brock. Teams would still be interested in him, and he should bring us back decent futures (and of course, the cap space)...Then go after Severson. He's the guy we need to pay the Myers money too going forward. It's unlikely even Miller gets us a Sergachev or Schneider type (young RHD)....that's very apparent because he was never on the table. The most likely way we get our QHs pairing or a quality top four RHD is going to be free agency. Severson has ties to BC... With both Myers and Severson, we can actually ice a very decent D the next two years ... after that Myers can sign a new deal and take over our bottom pairing spot...and like Edler last season when Doughty went down, be available to move up and play those tougher minutes when needed. Myers is better in the post season. Was one of three players on this team that could handle Vegas, and he was at best 70% (shoulder injury but came back)...and we need his truculent play. We don't even have any other D that can throw a decent hit. Hamonic could, Edler too of course the rest are meh at best ... haven't seen it from Poolboy yet ... Burroughs is ok i suppose but is a spare part. Myers probably would have got the same deal somewhere after flat cap.
  13. This. Sucks because well depth at C and top ten goaltending are two key ingredients in winning a cup. And these days only TB offers the complete package (COL did not have a true number one goalie ... but they had even more of everything else)... Aside from TB, and maybe Boston and ANA, the league hasn't seen complete teams since the DET/COL/NJ pre-cap days. Where you had it all. VAN actually should have been included of course, best team since expansion not to win a cup according to THN. All the team would need to do is trade Brock and the cap is available. Think JT/Allvin will take their time evaluating things, and there is a possibility we keep everyone for a playoff run and even be buyers at the deadline. Severson would be a great addition. NJ won't make it this year, not likely anyways, not in that division. And very unlikely he stays in NJ too. If i was Allvin i'd already be on the phone to see what sort of deal they'd take for him as a season long rental.
  14. I was actually bringing up Sakic poaching Devon Toews (two seconds) as his best move to date. They were also cash strapped and had to unload someone... NJ is in a similar situation next season. they can't afford Severson...someone has to go, they need guys on cheap deals (too)... This is more about our team adding Severson and going for it this season while we still have Miller. Just an idea. And Hogs plus a second would actually be a better deal for NJ then Devon Toews got. Sure we'd need to dump a bit more cap (Pearson?, surely someone would take him ...) ... 6'2" could be this teams version of Hamhuis but on the right side, or if it works out, QHs partner. Then the team re-signs him or Miller or trades one (or both) depending on how things work out. Schmidt was traded twice for a cheap return ... and was/is considered a top four D..and NJ won't keep Severson with Hamilton on their roster plus what's coming up both pay wise and in their system. If it's a one for one trade with Miller i'm not sure that's even possible for them cap wise for NJ (re-signing Miller). If not Hogs then maybe they'd be interested in Rathbone ... it's tough to see him on this team ... he's NHL ready and could be pretty decent, but as a third pairing LHD behind QHs...well like Burke said "that's some small bodies gentleman" ... too bad he's not a RHD.
  15. I ate some prawns recently. They were tasty! Lol. Brock is an avenue that could keep us Miller. And Horvat.
  16. Nice to have some extra reason on this site. I've tried my best to keep bringing this up. And well, LA 2 cups, CHI 2 cups, Boston 1, ANA 1, St. Louis 1, PIT 3, CAR 1 (minus Staal), WSH 1, TB 2 and COL 1 ... look at their teams...and not even going to get into who they beat to win their cups because they also were where they were - with the bulk of their key guys on second and third contracts. And in most cases it was the vets carrying all the mail. CHI is the ONLY exception...first cup. Not that they didn't have their vets because they did. Edit: Crosby and co were on their second contracts their first cup... Edit: So agree with you. 100%. People talk about 2-3 years down the road ... well sure maybe. But it's just a maybe. That's it. Why not now?. Think about that. We are just Devon Toews (Severson!) away from something special. Can say that after 93 ... we all thought we were a contender. Or close to it. Not many boxes we didn't tick, and that was pre-cap. You guys that think Miller has to be traded no matter what ... when are we going to have a team like this again? Maybe is just a maybe that's it. Why not this year. COL fans sure had a sh!t fit after we played them down the stretch. Maybe we should add. All we need is a top four D. And well ... who knows.
  17. Ok first off EP said one thing in a Swedish paper, very standard answer to the question....then there was the current cap situation at the time, there wasn't enough money to do both EP and QHs... that was actually a smart move by JB all considered. He didn't know the cap wasn't going up, that said he also put himself in that position as we all know. If there was no covid the money would have been there. Let's not worry about EP. We are team Sweden after all. Agree with the rest though. We simply can't assume that either Demko and especially QHs, will want to stay. Also agree why would they if we can't sort our sh!t out. Now for the last one. I've tried my best to say that playoffs and Miller going for "nothing" doesn't mean im in favour of it, or that it's not the end of the world either. Worst case is actually a bad trade or we re-sign him to a deal that hurts us. I do get all the fuss though. Because. well who the heck wouldn't want a guy like Miller on their team! That said if we trade him, things shouldn't be too bad either, especially if EP gets another season under his belt without having to be the man. And Horvat mitigates things somewhat. We can't assume that trading Miller is going to help us, or re-signing or that just letting him play out the season plus playoffs is the right move. We won't know for awhile either way. Logically, sure let's have a lopsided trade. Seen enough of them. It's also logical to assume that trading Miller is going to make it tough to manage a playoff run, and that it's very reasonable not to see a return before EPs current deal is done too. Nobody including me has the right answer. But i can see the pros (and cons) of each thing, which for sure isn't let's him walk for "nothing"....both as a manager (owners do deserve their cut) and what that experience is worth to the team and of course the managers. In that case it's also his cap back, a playoff run, and well nobody back that makes things worse at least. So it's not nothing its "something"....All 3 scenarios have their value and pitfalls. For sure im not so naive to think it's nothing. Because it for sure isn't. Even a four game sweep in the first round although that would suck butt. Edit: FYI if i had to do one thing, it would be see how the season goes and make a decision at the TDL, exactly what JR said we are going to do. And i would man up and not trade him (against my word) if things go better then expected, and actually be buyers in that case (bye bye Hogs and a second or Rathbone and a second) ... because you only get so many shots/chances and if your a numbers guy you should know this is our peak "number" window right now with the current cycle of guys ...Then make the tough decisions based on how this team managed during the second season. The first one matters of course, but the second one is what GMs actually should be planning for.
  18. To me Sakic's best move was Devon Toews, recognized they were cap strapped and struck while the iron was hot, plus adding Manson. What he managed wasn't at all the norm. Therefore not a good comp for anyone or any other team either. Once you get to be a top team, UFAs are willing to come in cheap ... he didn't get the influx TO got, not even close so kudos for that. And ARI goalie was actually pretty good, just had a tough time playing a lot of games ... but not top tier. Have to be good to be lucky ... well suppose one could say that, but Sakic absolutely fluked out losing the first overall and then drafting Makar (some could say we did with EP as well... would we have really left Patrick or Hirschier on the table and still picked him? highly doubt that!)... same with Sakic and Makar. The Duchene trade even more so. OTT was a double OT goal away from heading to the final. Nobody saw them cratering like they did, and look at Stone, Zinbenajd now etc. I don't mind waiting at all to get a top team. But also see enough potential in the one we have to be totally fine with doubling down on it. Sure our D is going to need work. We all know that. We do have the forward group though. And well, even moving Brock is enough to keep Horvat and Miller. Center depth and goaltending wins cups too.
  19. I'd be ok with doing a re-set like Sakic did when he came in after awhile...but we'd have to start with Demko, and that's just idiocy. Sakic actually took a ton of heat from around the media world waiting so long to trade Duchene. And trading Barrie to a lesser extent. But they didn't have goaltending and their D was tragic. Why they were the worst team in the league despite adding their second line C in Kadri ... less then 50 points one season ... lost the lottery despite 20 points behind us ...that was five years ago when they drafted Makar. A lot of other brilliant moves, but luck, absolutely, more then anything got them to where they are now. And i highly doubt our luck would work out following a similar path. So yes, keep what you have if you can. Lucked out losing the lottery and drafting Makar, and for sure lucked out with their OTT first lol. To me at least, i see a very long window similar to what TB got with Hedman and Stamkos. They came awfully close early on with the remnants of the Martin St. Louis core ... hit a few speed bumps when that was over, including I think a 5th overall pick in Drouin (Sergachev), then right back to it. Other teams like Boston, WSH, PIT, SJ and St. Louis, even MIN and NSH all had very long windows, with parts of 2-3 cores for some.. Weber and Suter left, Josi was there to pick up the slack etc. That's what i want for this team too. Eventually you get a shot. And each year those playoffs add to those odds of winning. SJ actually had a great re-tool...they are just now going into the cycle we had to when JB took over. A full rebuild now and it's going to take them the duration of Hertl's and EK's contract lol. Long time coming, and it's going to hurt. As a GM, the biggest responsibility is actually to the owners and the bottom line. Playoffs. Parity and reps ... adds to the odds of winning a cup for any team that's making the show year after year. Personally i'm awfully interested to see what this team can do in the second season more then the regular one. Special teams take a bit of the back seat ... sure they still matter, but the whistle is put away, clutch play, depth, attrition become key factors. Have seen several cups from teams lacking something. PIT it was their D, and well possesion geeks lost a lot of their buzz (back then it was all LA/CHI stuff need possession!) .. COL just won with two 1b goalies. Thank god they don't have a Demko. Or we'd have a tough time beating them ... they won't be able to ice the same team after next season. Thankfully! Millers recent comments "we were a top 3 defensive team down the stretch" paraphrased "our PK killed the season"...he was correct. One more top four D from the outset or possibly at this years TDL... could give this max cap cycle advantage ... a real shot cap wise this year. Our team can afford to lose say Pearson and one of Garland or Brock for sure. That's enough to pay to keep our three C's. EPs raise, say 2, Milers 3.5 and Horvats say 2. The cap going up... mitigates this as well. It's ok to have some overpaid vets. All teams have them. Including ones who win cups. Miller is betting on himself obviously, otherwise he'd take the deal on the table. I wouldn't bet against him... down the stretch was scoring at 120 point pace. Hart/Ross level stuff. JR/Allvin says he wants guys who can play on the same lines. Maybe we already have that. At least the players that is. Podz ... Get our D is in need of an overhaul. But we do have Demko. This team is very easy to like. I'd be perfectly happy if they managed to get some buy in to keep it together. Also prepared for Miller playing his last season with us ... if he's part of a run to the cup ... well pretty happy about that too. I don't look at this as a win or lose situation as much as some do. Miller is a win. We win if he's traded, we win if he's signed, we also win if he's part of a run, and get his cap back. The only bad thing would be a bad trade, with players that use up our cap and roster spots (doubt it, but it's part of the risk and it does happen!). Miller do we really need him? Of course we do. But his cap needs to be reasonable. Same with his term.
  20. There is one scenario where id want to move Hoglander, and that's as part of a package to a team to acquire a top four D before the season starts, even if it's a rental deal. Severson would be a nice target for us. NJ likely moves on from him ... same way we likely move on from Miller. They've got a glut of young defenseman in the wings waiting for a shot, and some will make the team (Luke Hughes) this year. Hamilton has a lock on their top pairing. Our forward group is one of the deepest in the league right now. Have a hard time finding a team we've iced other then the ones from the 90's (early mostly), with this much top 9 material. When Hogs and 2-3 other guys could be your 13th man ... well that says something. Not only do we have 3 centers to work around, we've also got a quite a few that can play both wings, or are a W/C... Garland plays both wings .. EP, Miller, Dickie ... and i'm going to add Podz as a possible candidate to try on C as well. Lazar. We are loaded. For sure we can afford to lose one or two of these guys. IF we start the season with another top four D... we might be the favourite to win the division going in which says a lot.
  21. This is correct see my above post. Schenn is Horvats closest comp and, well at least some folks think Horvat is the better player. Better then Kevin Hayes too. Not as good as Hertl ... Fortunately for Horvat and Canuck fans, JR/Allvin want him signed before the start of this season and expect that will happen. Trading Miller is mitigated heavily if we have Horvat in place, worrying about losing both these guys would spiral the CDC into a spin cycle im not sure i want to be part of lol. He's the correct target, we drafted him, he's our 14th captain ... and having him on the team for almost certainly most of his career would stabilize things. He's the rudder and the steering wheel of this ship and a big part of the engine too. Not a big fan of cancel culture, but what he did in the bubble was leadership. Don't have to be a loud mouth screamer, and don't mind his stoic personality one bit. Teams playoff window is open now. We should have made the playoff last season, and are coming in with a better team. PK, coaching mistakes during the pre-season, and JB judgement errors signing Hamonic and not Edler killed our season. Horvat actually was on pace to score over 40 goals for us down the stretch... so was EP for that matter ... and Miller 120 points lol. IF that's the team we get all of next season ... well be prepared not to trade Miller and possibly lose some of our picks and lower cheap guys for another top four D rental like Severson. Only get a few cracks at it and when you do, you have to take advantage of it. There is a scenario, where we can consider Miller as our rental, a price we already paid in full for.
  22. Curiously, the Hockey Writers, who have no skin in the game, choose Hertl and Schenn as Horvats best comps. Explained how Hertl is a little better, and Schenn a little worse ... and went on to say on their opinion, Horvats next deal would be .785 ish x 8 years. Quite a few things Horvat does, is a little better then Schenn (in their opinion), quality of line mates of course was considered as well. Schenn more physical and has had a better season, Horvat prime is just coming, as well as better wingers finally. Horvat is one of the best face off guys in the league and starts in his zone a lot. Anyways i was shocked if this is what is considered fair ... he's a better player then Hayes so they didn't even use him as a comp. I was hoping for something like 6.5 x 8.... maybe that was pie in the sky thinking on my part with the cap scheduled to go up in what would year 2 (start) of his next deal. Jamming both Miller and Horvat in would be awfully tough next off season. Think we end up seeing a lot of one year deals, the top guys will get paid ... second tier guys will find it tougher to get paid
