What do you want as the Canucks alternate/third jersey?
Tiger-Hearted replied to Roberts's topic in Canucks Talk
If the mainstay jersey are not to be messed around with, they need to be corrected first. Go back to the beloved and respected original Stick In Rink uniforms, make a few upgrades including the addition of Johnny Canuck on the shoulders and be done with it. -

They're just rumours, mind you but I heard it from a couple of people on Twitter. Then, again, those people heard those same rumours from someone else. It make sense though. Original Stick In Rink as the home and away, Johnny Canuck on a green third and the '94 Skate for throwback games. -

I believe that uniform is going to be our new primary with updates and Johnny Canuck will be the third jersey, probably a green one. I firmly believe that Stipec was put on the spot when asked about the orca. If the Canucks are planning a rebrand and I have heard a couple rumours that they are, Stipec is not going to let the cat out of the bag. He's not going to pass along any slight hints. This franchise needs to end its identity crisis and keeping the orca is only going to prolong it. Jon Festinger, a former Canucks Execute Vice President of Business & General Council and a regular guest on The Sport Market with Tom Mayenknecht, has stated that in order for the Canucks to have long-term stability with their brand, they need to simplify things because there is just too much going on. He said that the club needs to get rid of "the awful orca" and go back to the original Stick In Rink as the primary and add Johnny Canuck as a secondary. Festinger couldn't be more accurate. -

Black, blue and white belong to the Tampa Bay Lightning - even as vintage colours as the Bolts copied the Leafs' look. Blue and green look great together. They are the Canucks' original NHL colours, no other team uses them and they represent BC and the PNW perfectly. -

Classic Stick In Rink as primary/Skating JC as shoulder patches. Block font with added Kelly green border plus some green in the collar. Black '94 Skate as the 3rd with recoloured SIR and/or JC as shoulder patches. -

Actually, that's perfect. The neon green would represent Vancouver as the pothead capital of Canada. -

I'm with you on the Agency font. However, royal blue and Kelly green look great together. Even navy blue and Kelly green would look great. A uniform doesn't have to look intimidating. Just simple and distinctive with a little character. Sorry, but those Orca Bay uniforms were cold and bland. I say go back to the classic Stick In Rink 'C' and put the skating Johnny Canuck on the shoulders. -

I would still keep the original/current blue and green. Boston and Pittsburgh already own black and yellow. However, I would take the '94 Skate or a recoloured version any day over the corporate orca and cluttering arched 'VANCOUVER'. -

I've got news for you, my friend. The Penguins have their iconic Skating Penguin. It's as classic and old-school as their state rival's Flying P. The Miami Dolphins had the iconic leaping dolphin wearing a football helmet. The Golden Knights have a first-class brand that's been voted in the NHL's Top 25 uniforms of all-time. The two versions of the orca uniforms didn't even qualify under the Canucks' choices. I would be just as happy to have the Skating JC on the shoulders with the classic and timeless Stick In Rink as the primary. You don't like my passion for Johnny Canuck?? TOUGH. I will push for the inspiration of the Canucks name to be part of the main identity and the ditching of the bad luck corporate orca and cluttering arched 'VANCOUVER' until the cows come home. So, suck it up. -
Thanks guys! Hughes is already growing rapidly on me and now I like him even more. Thanks to a couple of earlier draft surprises and Benning's keen eye for talent and character, we finally have "The Mighty Quinn". Welcome to Vancouver, Quinn Hughes!

I'm curious. What separates the likes of Quintin Hughes and Jordan Subban? Subban's weaknesses were his height and poor defensive play obviously.

I know. I did buy the jersey because Johnny Canuck was on the front and I also had my Pat Quinn memorial patch sown on to it. However, I agree. JC should have been bigger and more centred. Or with JC the size that it was, a "V" logo could have been designed as a backdrop like how the Utica Comets use a "U" on their green alternates. You look at how sharp and professional the Vegas Golden Knights brand is - the primary logo representing the team name, the distinctive colours and the uniforms - and then you look at our current brand, there is absolutely NO comparison. With the exception of the colours, the Canucks brand is a lazy and disorganized mess. And with sports marketing wizard Tod Leiweke with the Seattle's future NHL franchise, you just know that their brand will be right up there with VGK once it's unveiled. That will push the Canucks much further down in their branding unless the club finally gets it together by the 50th anniversary season. -

What needs to be done with the modern Stick In Rink is that the stick needs to be levelled and realistic. The inner border "C" looks great but the stick element looks cartoony and crooked. As for the shoulder patch, the full body Johnny Canuck should be used, not the Vachon Cakes look-a-like JC-V Head. And last, block font needs to return with an added green border. If it's the same exact third jersey as before, the it's an automatic fail for cheapness and laziness in the marketing department as well as ownership. -

[Official] Vancouver Whitecaps Thread
Tiger-Hearted replied to Tenacious's topic in Off-Topic General
I have far more faith in the Canucks than I do in the Whitecaps. Until the 'Caps owner$hip changes, it's going to be the $ame old, $ame old, $ame old. Two pathetic performances in a row at home. -
Was hoping Lind would have a crack at 40 goals. Nevertheless, he had a great season. Best of luck in the playoffs!

ELIAS PETTERSSN!!!! CNGRATULATINS!!!

I wonder if Brock is going to be another hard luck injury-prone player. So darn frustrating. Then again, if Barzal were a Canuck, he probably would be injury-prone as well. That's the way it goes with this franchise.
-
9 more goals for 400 and his 30th of the season. How often is it when players score both season and career milestones on just one goal? Hope he does it at home.

Like I said, he needs to come and see me. Someone I told this to called me "The Canuck Whisperer".
