  1. Glass gets cut from Team Canada but Pettersson will most likely represent Team Sweden. Anyway, let's hope Kole can develop his all-around game with the Rockets.
  2. I think of retired Flyers 50-goal man Tim Kerr and his reign of terror in front of opposing goalies whenever I watch highlights of Gadjovich.
  3. Seattle fans will be in for a REAL hockey treat with Pettersson and the Canucks just up the I5 in the not-too-distant future. And the same will be true for us fans with the Canucks visiting the Emerald City.
  4. Kole is not only back..He has a goal in his return.
  5. Let's hope Lind can get on a roll and increase his chances on being on Team Canada.
  6. Getting Tiger was needed for a club lacking character and veteran leadership. Ron Sedlbauer should have been the guy to go to Toronto right after his fluke 40-goal season for Williams. Think how better those early 80's Canucks would've been with Derlago, Vaive, Ashton and Graham. Which is why I am so dead set against trading youth and draft picks. The more depth a team builds from the draft, the far easier it is to trade from a position of strength. Having two solid 2nd round picks in '17 certainly makes a hell of a difference compared to not having a 2nd rounder in other years.
  7. What a complete power game by Gadjovich. Beautiful shorthanded goal as he's being pursued by two players and a power play goal by being the menacing net presence. Just awesome.
  8. Are we snakebitten from watching our WHL prospects live due to injury?? Hunter Shinkaruk(hip), Jake Virtanen(shoulder surgery). I hope Kole is able to play tomorrow night in Langley. He's doing very well too.
  9. That trade has proven that Benning CAN make a good trade. Furthermore, Dahlen getting primary points shows that he can play without Pettersson. All this is very encouraging.
  10. Hutton scored quite a bit in college hockey. With the power play so abysmal, I wonder if he has a decent shot from the point. Something to monitor whenever the Canucks go on the pp.
  11. Gadjovich looks like Clark Gillies with that beard. If he can continue to develop into the kind of power forward that ol "Jethro" was with the Islanders, look out.
  12. FIRST EVER HAT-TRICK FOR BROCK THE ROCK!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! And the first Canucks hat-trick in over a season too!
  13. The problem is the cheapskate and invisible 4-person ownership group. Kerfoot lives here but is never seen or heard from. Mallet lives in California and cares a lot more about his baseball Giants than his hometown 'Caps. Steve Nash is only onboard for the odd public appearance. The 'Caps need strong and committed ownership and management like the Sounders. Otherwise, nothing is going to change. Long-live '79.
  14. It's going to be very interesting how much better Pettersson is going to be as he continues to put on more muscle and mass. As for Forsberg, if one could do the '91 Draft all over, he could've gone in the Top 3 easily. And I would rather have him over Lindros. I also remember watching the draft(Darn! Philly got him! Just before the Canucks!), I recall Forsberg being very skinny. I knew he was going to be good, nevertheless. By the time he was entering his prime with Colorado, I was amazed on how much bigger he became and how dominant he was on the ice. So, it's scary to imagine how really good Pettersson can become once his body matures and his game continues to develop.
  15. Well, look at it this way. If the likes of Linden Vey can get offensive opportunities, I see no reason why Brendan, who's bigger and is far more rounded than Vey, cannot get at least half of the opportunities that Vey got.
  16. I see the third line as Brendan's ceiling.
  17. Brendan has been re-signed to a new two-year contract. GOOD MOVE Jim. Now, let's give him a well-deserved opportunity to play with more offensive players.
  18. This is crazy! I can't figure this team out!
  19. The Lions are two teams: Road warriors and hapless homies. Absolutely pathetic.
  20. The Swedish touch continues. Welcome to Vancouver, Elias Petterson! I was originally hoping for Cody Glass or Gabriel Vilardi but still an EXCELLENT pick. Scouting comparison: Henrik Zetterberg. His great chemistry with Jonathan Dahlén will continue in blue and green!
  21. I bet anyone that if Jake develops into a power forward version of Alex Burrows, fans, including critics, will L♡VE him. Remember that Burr paid his dues in both the ECHL and the AHL before he was offered an NHL contract. I'm with N4ZZY on keeping Jake in the AHL for at least another season. He needs to continue to his overall growth as a hockey player and get more hungrier to crack the big show. Yes, Jake shouldn't have been taken at 6th overall but Boeser was taken at 23rd overall in his draft year so things kind of got evened out here. And what IF Nylander were taken instead of Jake and he struggles? What if he became a second coming of Jordan Schroeder, who played a similar offensive style?? It does help that he plays in Matthews' shadow. Jake's two-goal game, including the game winner, should be celebrated. Hopefully, he finishes the season on a strong note and that the Comets qualify for the postseason. That would be a great test for him. Time to stop playing the Canucks Fan Victim Card on what we got and should've got.
  22. First two-goal game for Big #18! Keep it up, Jake!
  23. When it comes to being negative, I don't use terms like "Debbie Downer" or "Negative Nellie", I just use Tony Gallagher's name. More w(h)ine comes out of him than out of France.
  24. Congratulations to Brock on scoring his first NHL goal in his very first NHL game. Better yet, in his home state of Minnesota!
