It’s difficult to have any sympathy for anyone involved in the Kyle Beach scandal.

It’s a complete 360 for someone like Brandon Sutter, who many Canuck fans would say he was no good for us, but at the same time have no qualms with his character because he’s actually a good person.

Sutter had his moments. Just our luck that he got injury prone here but was solid before.

His book is amazing.   Modest to the point where it's a little annoying because he never once talks about records this records that.  Instead he goes through the history of hockey, up to his era, and past his era.   Guys for sure a savant.   Didn't try to do things his body couldn't do.   Bobby Clarke could be one mean piece of crap.   Not sure Gretzky took notes about that.   How to slash someone hard enough to break an ankle.

My dad played against Bobby when they were kids in Manitoba. Said he was a mean little shit even back then.

  3. From social media just meow:

    Quote
When he was 14, Wayne Gretzky moved from his small hometown to play in a more competitive hockey league in Toronto.
He was undersized and during the first practice, he got pushed around.
After practice, his coach pulled him aside.
“When you go home tonight,” the coach said,
“the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the Philadelphia Flyers—watch Bobby Clarke play.”
Bobby Clarke was an undersized player on the Flyers who went on to be inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame.
“He's not very big,” Gretzky’s coach told him, “but he's very smart.”
“And I studied him and I studied him and I studied him,” Gretzky said.
“I would take out a piece of paper and draw a rink and then without looking at the paper, I’d watch the hockey game on TV, and I would take my pen and I’d follow the puck.”
When Clarke got off the ice, Gretzky would look down at the paper and look for patterns.
He began to notice two things.
First, that Clarke “played the game mostly out of the corners.” Second, that players almost never went behind the net.
So, Gretzky said, “I started playing out of the corner and from behind the net…I started using the net as a decoy. Consequently, I wasn’t standing in front of the net, getting knocked over, and being on my keister the whole time.”

May be an image of 2 people, people playing hockey and text

Yeah it's a smart business model.

But Nate clearly took shots to the head, which is just not a good idea for him anymore. The guy can barely string a sentence together. I'm glad he got paid well though. He's a warrior and deserves a big pay day.

I've watched Nate since he came into MMA. He never was what you call eloquent or well spoken. ;)

  5. My complaint about BC Ferries is I can no longer ride on with minutes to spare on my motorbike. Have to be there 30 mins early now. 'It is not fair to the people in cars..' boo f**king hoo. I am on a motorbike..I am better than all those people in cars and deserve special treatment!!!

Mostly joking. Happy with my 1/2 price fair and first on/off perks. I am usually early anyways :D

I hope Diaz never fights again. It's sad watching these old battered guys take more damage. His only interesting fight left is a trilogy with Conor. And that might be the only smart option Conor has left too.

He didn't take shit for damage honestly and got PAID. I give Paul credit for making huge cash off fighting old dudes from a different sport and bums (Askren). Dude is not a legit boxer and loses to all these guys in MMA or any decent boxer in boxing. But props again to him doing these cards and showing actual boxing on them and getting the undercard paid well. I respect the hell out what he is doing honestly.

That's not what he said. He said at the moment he's a winger but he said he was open to it if the team wanted him to transition.

    Which is logical.

Edit: it's around 18:20 on the podcast. He also stated with his 200 foot game it made sense and that a lot of teams wondered if he'd move to C because it's already established.

Which is not an easy thing to do...like at all. Especially undersized and slower.

Funny I've read page after page about Stevie Y being the best in the business... time will tell

Well if you look at Tampa's success much of that was him. Certainly one of the best but this was an odd time to reach.
