[Rumor] Boeser Camp Eyeing 4 Year Deal Worth $28M
Dekey Pete replied to buddyguy's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I disagree. 6 years is a long time and I bet that Boeser thinks he's going to get a lot better as a player as he enters his prime. That contract would be an absolute steal if he becomes a 80 point player and say the cap increases between now and 2025 (which it will). I think they need to sign a bridge deal until we truly see what kind of a player Boeser can be. We haven't even seen him play a full season yet. -

Brock wants to be here. Brock's teammates want him to be here. Can we stop putting up trade proposals now? They will sort it out. -
[Rumor] Boeser Camp Eyeing 4 Year Deal Worth $28M

Watch Brock get signed right after he says this. I've lost a lot of faith in Rick's sources, he seems to get his wires crossed a little too often these days -
Captain Bo
-
wow he is relentless on the puck, pushes hard to the net and isn't afraid to battle for net front position. Not to mention he's got some slick hands. JB seems to have picked a good one here
-
I don't see a problem with what he said at all. 1) Bo is probably the best or at least one of the best candidates for captain on the team 2) He's just responding to a question, it's not like he's the one calling out the Canucks to name him. If the question was, "Do you think you're ready to be the next captain of the team" what would you expect him to say? No, I'm not ready? I think he answered it perfectly

No hurt feelings Sam. Just my opinion, and you can have yours. I say Tryamkin displayed some self-entitlement issues while he was here (along with struggling to play for a minor league level coach), you think the entire blame falls on Willie.
-
I'm sure it was also in his contract that he would show up to Vancouver in shape ready to play hockey. My point is it shows a sense of entitlement which is not a good sign in a young prospect.
-
Right, forgot that minor detail. I recall that they wanted to send him to the AHL for a quick conditioning stint but he wouldn't agree to it.
-
I think he is very overrated by this forum. I think he is a promising prospect, but some people want to just slot him in over some of our other guys in the top 4 who have earned the job. He left the team a couple years ago by his own choice, and if he wants to play again in the NHL he has to earn his spot at training camp like everyone else. In his 1st season he came to training camp out of shape, was demoted to the AHL for conditioning, and then there were apparent entitlement issues throughout his time here. Did Willie contribute to this through poor coaching? Probably. But it wasn't 100% Willie's fault either. Green has established that no one is going to be gifted a spot on this roster, and he isn't afraid to park someone on the bench or in the minors if they aren't playing the way he wants. Tryamkin has a lot to prove still, but he is an intriguing prospect and there aren't many like him with that kind of size and strength that can still get around the ice effectively in the NHL.

Might as well get rid of half of the NHL awards while we're at it too? MVP? Nah, it's a team game.
-
Petey is/will be a franchise elite level player. No question. The other guys are great players and an important part of the core, but Elias is the type of player you build a team around.
-
To be fair to Olli: 2016 (draft year) - was his first year in training camp, and no one expected him to make the team. Even management stated that their plan was to send him back to the OHL before training camp even started. 2017 - I can't recall him at training camp this year, but maybe this is what your referring to when he wasn't quite up to expectations. He was then sent to play in Finland so he could play against adults. 2018 - Olli has back surgery and only has part of the summer to prepare for training camp. By all accounts, by the time he was playing in Utica he was starting to look good until his injury. I for one am excited to see what Olli can bring to training camp this year. Unfortunately he's coming off another injury, but this time he's got the entire summer to train. I don't expect him to make the roster right out of camp, but he'll be up this year once the annual defensive injuries start to accumulate.

The more I watch past video of Miller play the more excited I am to see him on a line with Pete and Brock. We might actually have a legit scoring 1st line next year for the first time in.... how many years now?

What are the hidden costs of running a NHL team?

Also that's just the CAP HIT, not actual salaries paid in $. I suppose it works for a simplified analysis though.
