Oh wow. Well I hope that kind of uncertainty will cause the Train to leave the station and choo choo his way back to Vancouver. That would cause some excitement if we manage to get him back next year.
-
Your whole post is speculative and most likely far from the truth. Don't believe everything you hear. If you boo a Canuck then you are not a Canuck! Shame.
-
Pettersson was definetly not the best player overall on his team this tournament. However, his upside is clearly the highest. He does things on the ice that others players can't do. I also like to look at the whole season and EP is having an incredible one. He will be the best player to come out of the Sweden team. Eventually.
-
I am certain he would score a lot on the powerplay and hopefully he can put on the weight to protect himself from hits. Literally the only thing that would hinder him now would be strength. Everything else is NHL ready and elite. Rare talent.
-
Great tournament for Olli. Now get back to Sami Salo so we can see you in the lineup next year. Work work work young man.
-
Juolevi is having an excellent tournament. Been solid all around but seems to getting better every game. He is just so damn smart! How anyone has a problem with his play is downright baffling. That future powerplay of Gads/Horvat down low with Pettersson/Boeser on the corners and Juolevi manning the point will be extremely dangerous.
-
Yeah I'm pretty sure that was his point. You would know why we wouldnt want him if you followed the Knights.
-
It's common sense really I dont need to be certain. Unless your suggesting he tucked his tail and ran to the KHL then that is fine your allowed to have an opinion. I guess the only way we will know is if he comes back. I also didn't make those comparables but you cant deny he has traits that no D in the league has and that is a fact. If he was able to put it all together that is one scary guy to play against. So you say yes every time with open arms if Try wants to be a Canuck.
-
Home and family should always come before work. That is just common sense. Money can always be made but family is forever. I have made a lot of sacrifices for the greater good of my family which is exactly what Tryamkin did. End of story. He also never came back he came over for the first time to play in the best league in the world. When or if he does come back we would be idiotic to not welcome him back with open arms. You would lose your job saying no to that kind of potential.

Yeah I remember thinking the same thing. Kind of reminds me how Edler has refused to pass to Boeser on the powerplay. Just so comfortable passing to the Sedins. On Olli I completely agree. I have a feeling he will be quite successful in his rookie year, some players just transition better than others.
-
I think the reason he looks out of sync is because most of his forwards are playing like juniors and Olli is playing like a guy who plays with men. Which is how he should look. He's a very cerebral player and has been impressive in pro hockey already. Just remember this is the world juniors everyone. Brock Boeser did not have an amazing world juniors nor did he play top line minutes. In fact there were quite a few labeling him a bad pick. I dont see anyone around these boards that have a problem with his play anymore now do we? In my opinion I see a solid #2 D in Olli developing. I understand the criticism but I dont agree with it.
-
Why is that? He has been solid making nice quick plays and has jumped up into the rush when he sees open ice. To me he looks like the most intelligent defenceman they have.
-
I thought Juolevi had a good period. Made some nice passes and was defensively sound. Very smooth out there. Did get his shot blocked a couple times but that's the only possible negative I could find which I wont fret about. Wish he was getting 1st unit PP time but Heiskenen and Valimakki are in that position for now.
-
I really think he would love Greens style of play. Will always have the opportunity to rush up the ice and when that train gets going man is he hard to stop. Not many guys in the league that would be able to. Maybe none. He's such a rare commodity I want him back on our team so bad.
-
I would be slightly cautious with Lockwood just because he plays a high energy physical game so he may need one more year of college. However all four of those guys excite me for the future and I would love to see it under the right circumstances. Depends how the rest of the season goes for our Canucks.
-
Since it was brought up. I am 100% certain that Elias will sign with the Canucks and unless there's an injury that hinders his development then I'm 100% certain it will be at the end of his season .

Merry Christmas @chilliwiggins

That's awesome thanks. Always love hearing what these young guys have to say. Damn do those legs look tiny in the photo though. Very encouraging though considering how well he is doing and he obviously has a lot of room to grow. Can't wait for this guy!
-
Should be getting called up now with Baer out 4-6 weeks. Bouch I hope you take the chance and run with it.
-
I really like elements of his game and I still believe he can be an impact player but he MUST get more physical. I see him turning away from hits way to often. He could absolutely be a force out there crushing guys and creating space. I mean he has 0 penalty minutes and that's hard to do. With his speed, shot, and size if he played half as hard as Dorsett plays then he would be dominant. I just don't get it.
-
Sorry I should clarify. He's a 30 goal scorer who I believe has potential for 30+ and was on pace for such last year as well as this year. I could see Vegas as well but think we have a great chance to get him. I mean I do think we will be contenders in two years.
-
How So?
-
That must be based on his off ice antics I assume. Otherwise he's exactly what this team needs. Fast, powerful, tough, 30+ goal scorer, young, vancouver boy, and in his prime. Seems to have matured and worked through his troubles. I would have him on my team.
-
He's gonna be way more valuable then Tkachuk in a couple years at this trajectory. I wanted Tkachuk at first but after seeing his on ice antics I'm glad we took Juolevi. Not sure if he will be an elite first pairing but is looking like a top 2 pairing for sure. Keep up the development Olli! Thanks for the updates everyone especially @SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
