Didn't join the team until the season had started already.
-
He is just excited about our prospects. Lind was a 2nd round pick playing like a top 10 pick with 2 more points than glass although glass has played one less game . Lind also had a monster game for Team WHL. Gadjovich had a great summer camp for Canada and Dipietro having another stellar season with Windsor. Maybe a lock is a bit much but he's definetly allowed to be excited about the prospect of it happening based on performance.

Adam Gaudette with the hat trick! Canucks prospects on absolute fire.
-
Elias with the hat trick damnnnn!!!
-
This kid has all the tools to be an elite 1st line center. Early returns looking great and just imagine how he'll look with another 10-15 lbs.
-
Haha you must scoreboard watch our prospects as much as I do then. I wish my career job was monitoring and updating stats. That would be a dream
-
I noticed that to. Maybe he was injured in last night's game because I find it hard to believe he wasn't in on any of Owen Sounds 12 goals.
-
Oh he sure does have a mean streak.
-
Exactly. He knows that's what he needs to do to be successful and if he can be consistent with it and have the right linemates then he will excel in that role. Whether he becomes top 6 or middle 6 he can prove his worth as a 6th overall pick. He's shown he can do it and now we want to see he can do it again and again.

Gagner was the reason for the goal? You do realize it was Jake who stole the puck fed it up to Gagner who made a nice drop pass back to Virtanen who smartly followed behind and then takes the puck and fires a wrister into the back of the net. Your opinion is so insignificant when you don't give credit where credits due. Good luck living in the shadows of the true Canuck fans out there. You certainly are not one of them.
-
Although I appreciate your opinion and understand where you coming from when you say the only thing "elite" about Lind is his hockey IQ . I just have a different take from what I've seen. Mind you my viewing experience was highlights, exhibition, and two or three Rockets games which is a limited sample size. I think Lind is good or great at everything, basically like a Swiss army knife with a brain. Having that IQ makes the other traits he has accentuated. I'd be shocked if he doesn't become a middle 6 player although his ceiling could be a complimentary top line guy. I believe injuries are the only thing that could stop Lind from being an impactful NHL player. One thing I'm sure we can agree on. It sure will be nice following our prospects that have legitimate high ceilings. They very well could form our next core in a few years and I love building through the draft. I feel as fans were more attached and invested in our team when were growing from within.

Oh I didn't say that Jake was ahead I just said they were not. If anything they are on par with eachother. All looking to make there respective teams. Jake has numbers in the NHL and they have numbers in the AHL. So you can't assess who is ahead. I could say Jake has scored more goals in the NHL and you could say they have better numbers in the AHL. I do not think that Jake has regressed at all. He needed to learn that he couldn't get by with only speed and a big shot in pro hockey . So far the preseason has showed he's done that as he's been an impact on every game he has played. Time will tell but the improvement is noticeable and encouraging.

I'll give you Schmaltz but Montour is a defenceman so not a good comparable. In no way is Tuch or Kapanen ahead of Virtanen in his development though.
-
Is EP okay?

Conservation is a joke anyways. Put rules on the guy with the fishing rod but let the commercial fishermen and the guys setting up nets on the Fraser row after row to do as they please. But I commend you for having high moral values. I just think there are bigger fish to fry out there than Palmu.

Completely agree that nobody should attempt to rub it in anyone else's face. To me that's just bashing someone else for having a different opinion. We're all gonna think differently because some of us are optimists, some of us are pessimists, and some of us are just realists. Unfortunately there are some trolls out there as well and that opinion I don't respect because not even they believe the position there stating. It'll be interesting to see what progression Jake makes this year. If he does turn into solid 3rd liner popping 15-20 goals I'll be happy with that. My optimism is aiming a little higher but I have always been a glass almost full guy lol. Which means I'll be wrong as many times as I am right.
-
Haha well its easier when you have time to think. I know that you do want Jake to succeed so I hope that he proves to all of us that he's determined and in excellent shape for training camp. If he can put it all together we have another piece to lead this team back to the playoffs .
-
Well if that's the logic were using then they say the camera adds 10 lbs. In that case photos do lie.
-
He looks night and day compared to last year at this time so I don't really agree with your t-shirt eye test. From all accounts he's been training hard. Some guys will always look thick as that's there body type. Doesn't mean they are not in shape. So I respectfully disagree with your concern.
-
We'll he certainly hasn't silenced anyone and I don't think he will until he puts in a solid season in the NHL. However even the biggest detractors of Virtanen have to agree this year was a step forward for him. I believe he will only improve further under the tutelage of Green even if it takes a couple years to reach his potential. I keep going back to the Andrew Ladd comparison if he continues to trend upwards which would be am invaluable piece to the Canucks future. He'd be able to play anywhere in the lineup and be a complimentary player in the top 6. Patience has almost become a curse word around these parts but it is what's needed. I see so much potential in Jake as well the plethora of prospects we have or will have next year that myself as a fan am extremely excited. Be patient with this team of youngsters I think they will surprise a lot of people next year and moving forward.
-
Well we all know there will be moving parts between now and the season but even with that then yes there will be a roster crunch. It's a good problem to have and if Juolevi out plays someone in the top 7 he's getting those 9 games without a doubt. That's all going to depend on his summer and his health going into next season. I still think another year of getting stronger will be key for him but I'm sure we all.want to see how he looks playing with NHL players and against NHL competition. I think we're in one of the most exciting times as a Canuck fan. These next couple years are make or break and from the owner down there can't be any critical errors.
-
Agreed. No need to turn this into a pissing contest. We all know Juolevi is the best defensive prospect we have had in years and maybe ever.
-
Yeah your right and I was kind of hoping to see him in a few more games especially since they were exhibition. I thought his second game was much better than his first and what i found most encouraging is he seemed more effective with NHL structure than in the prospects tournament where you will still see more of a junior game. I do stand by my thought that strength is the only thing holding him back. It'll be fun to see how it plays out.
-
First, not an issue whatsoever. Trades/Expansion Draft/Waivers will take care of that and a rebuilding team will allow a young player to have a shot if they feel hes ready. I believe the only thing holding him back is strength. Which in that case, Second, I completely agree with you he needs to get stronger so lets hope he comes in around that 200lb mark. I believe last camp he was around 192lbs. I have no fear that his game will translate. His defensive positioning is at an NHL level as well are his hockey smarts. We just cant expect him to come in and have a Werenski or Provorov type season. If he plays a steady game getting 15-17min a night then I believe that's a wonderful start to his career. That last line is very, VERY far from definite but I have hope. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I never realized I could feel the emotion of people through a message without emojis. I can just imagine some of you punching those letters in anger and others giggling as they type it lol. I think with Olli it's wait and see mode. Let's see if he can gain some strength and how he looks in camp next year. He's definetly getting the 9 games unless he has a terrible showing in camp and the only way I see that happening is if he has an injury. I think the kid could play next year but am not opposed to another year of waiting if he's physically not ready. Europe would be a great option though if possible.
