Yoooooo CDC homies, this is sad. I feel deep empathy for many long time posters that cared for this forum. This has been a go to place for me regularly for 15ish years. Spot on analysis. I guess it makes it a real hockey trade and not a fleece if we have to look at both sides of the coin. There's no clear winner because it's dependent on a conditional pick that will take time. There's risk every way we cut it. Both with Hronek and the picks we traded Hronek fits right now as a rare piece of the puzzle that will make us better. But would we be better in 4 years having developed the picks? I just wanted that first round pick more because I am unsure about the timing as a franchise. I think we should build more of a prospect pool before trading for the missing pieces.

I have preached to trade everyone for 1st round picks for like 6 months now. We need a rebuild. We traded our captain for a first round pick. I thought we were finally rebuilding. We had a direction. Now we are expending huge draft capital to retool defense. so like, now what's the plan? Were probably in the exact same middle of the pack meddling place in another 6 months. Not much better and not good enough.

Yeah, Its highly likely that some of my trust issues have developed because of canucks management. I dont trust anybody these days. I trust results and actions. Ive seen none. But heard lots of words. Seems like gaslighting. Back and forth. Doesnt know what to do. No concrete plan. Ect...

So basically we got an owner who meddles and vetos the president who does everything for the gm who doesnt do anything and also nobody was allowed to fire the coach so everyone diverted the blame onto him unfairly. Imagine owning an nhl hockey team and still being bad at everything to do with owning a hockey team and having your family make lawsuits against you and not talk to you and your still just like yeup everything im doing is fine. I shouldnt do anything else or change what im doing in any way.

If i was the gm id strait have traded anyone not petey or hughes for offered draft picks way before this point. Who i want removed is different. I think everyone but Petey, hughes, demko, martin, podz, kuz, mic, schenn and Burroughs based on personal fan bias.

1. Is Elias Pettersson truly a star forward? Yes, absolutely. Everyone sees this. 2. Will Bo Horvat be resigned, is his value greater than J.T. Miller who has under-performed this year? What is the future of the franchise? I dont know the future but horvat is more valuable to a winning team. 3. Is OEL a success or failure as an Edler replacement? Edler was and would probably be better for us. We traded a diminishing asset for another longer term diminishing asset. Oel has longer contract and is more expensive 4. Myers extremely overpaid but a valuable player? Questions about the cap structure of the team remain... Yeah we should trade him but i am okay with his paycheck ONLY because he obliterated Duncan Keith. 5. Success and future of Andrei Kuzmenko and lya Mikheyev I would trade everyone not named petey and hughes, but im not in charge. I assume kuzz probably get resigned if trades happen that free up cap space.

Remember 10 months ago when everyone thought miller was worth a first and two prospects? Now, he might actually have negative value in a trade. Mainly due to his lack of effort in backchecking/defending, rumors he isn't a good guy in the dressing room, and his emotional fits on the ice. What team would give up a top grade prospect now for him? And a first? Not happening. Doing that would be even more dumb than signing him for 8 years. If miller is traded now its for someone else not performing up to par with cap. Tough reality but it should be considered.

Your not wrong but i dont think im like that. Maybe i have personal bias? I think its natural for fans to cheer for their team regardless of whos on their team. By watching a player, we start cheering for that player on top of cheering the team. I knew Ehlers and Nylander were better. But i cheered for Jake because he was our guy. Regretfully now. Being a Canuck creates a Bias for diehard fans. I think that some posters analyse the game and the team and want to win but others just bleed canucks. Its just how it is in a big hockey market.

Management of the canucks is so frustrating. I dont blame bo for declining 8x8 then. Think of it from a professional work perspective. Bo has been playing at an elite level for a year now. Elevated his game 1.5 years before contract is up. His team has had abysmal starts the last two years. Theres been a coaching change. Now we are back to mediocrity. The team has no direction thats been presented. He watched veteran lifelong canucks not get offers and then sign cheap with rivals. You then see Boes get more, miller get more. Like you go through all of this. He obviously also understands cap structure. Everyone thinks managements moves have been dumb. Hes probably in the same boat. Especially when they say they will make trades which you expect makes cap room but then management doesnt follow through. Then a year before his contract is up, they offer a lower salary as his prime years contract. Id be going to free agency too and i love the canucks. The conversation should have started with 7. Just blow it all up.

It's really quite simple. Trade everyone not named Petey, Hughes, vpod and Demko for as many first round picks as possible. Horvat retained = 1st + prospect Miller = 1st Garland + Myers = 1st Boes + mik + Rathbone + hogs = 1st Then we have 5 first round picks. I'd like to apply for Gm. I have lots of experience on chel be a gm mode.
