  1. Good game for Jake again tonight. Had some good hits, drew another penalty, lots of shots and nearly scored again. Only a matter of time until one goes in for him. Relatively impress with him so far
  2. He is just a mini appollo but with prospects.
  3. Another point for Ben tonight. Played top pair as well. Future is looking bright
  4. On pace for an 82pt season! In all seriousness though, beatiful pass and hasn't look out of place.
  5. We opened up a roster spot in the Sutter trade so Virtanen could get his 9 games without anyone being waved right?
  6. Pretty awesome end to end rush tonight!
  7. I agree although what does this have to do with Virtanen?
  8. YAY someone understands me
  9. too bad we didn't do that this year. We would be in the McEichel sweepstakes. Tank for chyruchyn (sp) instead? /sarcasm for those confused
  10. Lol both get a +1/ that was funny
  11. I don't think that the injury was due to the knee on knee because he is listed as day to day with an upper body injury. I have also heard that it wasn't the shoulder that was surgically repaired so I don't think that he has a major injury. Just my way of reasoning, but as said there is no real way of knowing.
  12. I wouldn't say lost but it needed some work. I thought that this was one of his better games though.
  13. I thought that he looked good on that 3rd line although his PP wasn't very impressive
  14. Virt missed a couple shots on the PP but not going to look much into it. We all know he had a Lazer shot.
  15. Virtanen has looked much better on Paul's line than he did on the McDavid line. He's in on the cycle and moving around trying to get open when he's not down low. He's had a few good chances this game too. He hasn't been as much of a physical force but really there's no need when your up by this much. Super excited for this kid. Going to be a beaut!
  16. Really wish they would put Jake on the left side of the PP
  17. Good shift by Virt. Got in on the cycle game and also had a couple good chances in front. That shift partially lead to the Crouse goal.
  18. In fairness Jake was playing LW when he was on the McDavid line but his defensive game does need work.
  19. In response to the Horvat vs. Vey for 4C comments I would like to say that it seems the team is not having trouble scoring goals, our goals for are very high. What the team is having trouble with is playing defensive hockey. If you look at the skill sets of Horvat and Vey; Horvat is the one that is more likely to help our defensive play. The powerplay has also shown that it doesn't NEED Vey on the first unit which some are convinced of I'm not trying to rag on Vey, I really like him as a player and think he will be key in the future, I just think that Horvat make a better 4C. As I said earlier I also think that Horvat will develop more offensively by playing in the NHL and learning for the Sedins and Vrbata who are very talented scorers. Having Horvat as an option also allows us to rest players so we are fresher come the play-offs. Horvat, Vey and the rest of the bottom 6 can alternate nights off so we stay fresh down the road. We also face less of a hit when injuries strike (they will).
  20. I haven't read though this whole thread so someone may have mentioned this before although I don't think it is a very common opinion. What about keeping Bo up with the big clubs past his 9 games and playing him 10ish minutes a game with maybe some sheltered PK time but only having him play a sheltered amount of games in the season. As well as letting him go to the WJC. I feel like Bo would learn a lot more being up with the big club even if he is not playing day in day out. He gets to learn what the travel schedule is like, he gets a sheltered amount of NHL experience and he gets some of the best coaching and training in the world. I also think that his offensive game would improve more practicing with players like the Sedins who are extremely offensively gifted than it would dominating in junior just because he is older than everyone. Keeping Bo up would also leave the team the team with more options come injuries which plagued us last year and are inevitable especially if we make the playoffs. Bo could also be used to rest vets leaving them less prone to injury. The only harm I see in leaving Bo up with the big club is burning up a year of his ELC but I would guess when his ELC is up he still won't be in a spot to demand a lot of money. And if he is, then plan the parade 'cause he's carrying us to the cup
