2031 NHL Mock Entry Draft
wow its already 2031 , incredile
#1 - Zach Scott - (RNK 1)
Zach Scott has an elite comparable and is a winger. This is very cute to begin with. However, a deeper dive may suggest that this player is indeed Phillip Kessel reborn. If this does happen to be the case, a quick glance at Kessel's stats may suggest a high offensive role which may translate to Scott being an offensive juggernaut for years to come in this league. Standing at 6ft 191lbs, there is some concern this 18 year old could be too fat, much like his ancestor. This may be an impediment to Scott's success. Scott has however already showed and proved his haters wrong with success at the WJC level, amassing over one PPG as a U18.
#2 - Easton Hernandez - (RNK 10)
Hernandez is a Boeser comp and we know how the last one turned out...
Although the comparisons will be drawn, there is very little to suggest Easton and Patch can replicate a similar performance solely based on comp.
However, his tidbit sure does sound eerily similar. A defensively prone player who is a high volume shooter. The points are not quite there yet like Novak, however a GM may take the gamble in hopes that they do eventually come.
#3 - Evan Nichol - (RNK 3)
Nichol is a Chauviere comp (or whatever his name is), who to my recollection was/is the 4th best RD in the game. He is rated elite and a standard defender can be frustrating but rewards come to those who are patient. Nichol's flaws? He's too defensively orientated and his comp is too good to be true. The commissioner was rumored to use comps in the upper end of the range for players who are really at the lower end of the range (+vice versa) and Chauviere fits this profile. Although you can never pass up on an elite defender, there are some warning signs present with Evan, who could be a big reward to those who fancy "TA merchants".
#4 - Pavel Silhavy - (RNK OUTSIDE TOP 30)
The ??? comp has turned heads in a draft direly needing a star goaltender. The highest ranked goaltender of the draft by ISS and Central Scouting, Silhavy has shown promise in his hometown of the Czech Republic. After being a last minute cut from the Czech WJC team because of an altercation with a cab driver outside Prague's national airport, some scouts have decided to rank this man outside the first round. However, it is undeniable that the talent is there. Scouts are debating his potential, with his true potential being uncertain...however most scouts do agree he will be a starter in this league. ISS launched a scout report that compares Silhavy to David Rittich whereas Central Scouting has compared his play-style to Petr Mrazek.
#5 - Bryan Vrolyk - (RNK 11)
Are centers going out of fashion?
This midget center is compared to the likes of Jack Eichel, but being a pure playmaker without the finesse tag unfortunately places some doubt as to whether or not he will have any more flair than a Kirby Dach with training wheels. His tidbit is definitely one that should make most GMs cream themselves, but unless a wise GM picks Vrolyk for the purpose of playing him on the wing like Edquist, this player has no reason to challenge the top two of this mock draft at all, and to an extent the other two above him.
However, with that being said, if a wise GM takes a gamble on Vrolyk for the purpose of playing him on the wing, Vrolyk could see some strong success that would catapult him to the top of this list if it weren't for being listed as a center. Take a look at his fascinating tidbit and note the offensive moat he appears to possess.
